Touch up paint source?
I have a 70 RR and need to get some touch up paint to fill a scratch. I am unsure where to go to get this. I know auto paint stores have excellent color match technology but I dont have a paint chip. Do they have databases with paint codes in them? My car is a citron mist irridescent (code y4).
Also I talked to a guy at a company called areo colors. They do on site blocking and repainting for areas that need minor bodywork. The rest of the paint on my car is a very high quality. No orange peel, runs drips etc. I am hesitant to turn these guys loose without a good reference. They franchise all over the us. Anyone had any experience with them? Id rather do my own scratch fill the right way then have some idiot do a crappy job trying to repaint my whole quarter and I definitely dont have the budget to take the car to the body shop for just a 3 inch scratch.
Most auto parts stores that have paint will have a formula match for your car.I have good luck with PPG as it is the same company that was the original supplier for most of the Mopar muscle cars.
