Transom door for F-36
I want to install a transom door on an F-36. Is there anything special or tricky about such a project that I should be aware of before I fire up the chainsaw? I don't need the fancy (expensive)hinged type, just a simple slide-in board (i.e. teak)kinda like a companionway door. Does anyone have any suggestions, warnings, or other helpful comments. I greatly appreciate your input.

I saw that when it came out. That's actually where I got the idea in the first place. Thanks for reconnecting me with it. I wonder where I might find out about the structural issues, if any, of the F series transom. Are there any old Trojan engineers out there?

Marine Tech is all of the old Trojan people. You can call them at 717.684.4145. There also may be some owners of an F36 here. You might want to wait to see if they respond.

Dude...I spoke to my boat yard about this and they advised me against it....I want one so bad.

They told me it would be too weak in the back to support being in the sling. I wondered if this is BS.

Does anyone know of anyone else that has done this. Has anyone spoken to someone at marine tech?
