Ultemecia theory Ultimecia was a pretty strange futuristic character and she wasn't really explained all that much, other than that she hated SeeD and wanted to kill them all and warp the world. A theory discussed by myself and some friends (and probably a lot of serious gamers) is that Ultemecia is in fact Rinoa in the future. My first point to back up this theory is that Ultemecia conrols Rinoa at various points throughout the game in Final Fantasy VIII. If she was in fact Rinoa in the future, it would explain how she controlled rinoa so easily. My second point to add to the aid of this theory is the fact that Rinoa gains the powers of a few sorceresses throughout the game and it would make sense as to why Ultemecia has so muh power in the future. Myself and my friends believe that in the future, SeeD are destroyed including Squall and all the other main characters from FFVIII. Rinoa feeling upset and angry and hurt forms a war against the futuristic SeeD and then returns to the past to trap Squall, Zell, Seifer, Selphie, Quistis, Irvine and all the others in the time compression so that they are not killed in the future where she is a powerful sorceress. Anyways, any opinions or thoughts on this particular discussed theory? |

Hi just a curious Big fan of final fantasy but umm ultemecia did control Sorceress edea too remember. So I dont think it is Rinoa but that is a good theory you have there...

The theory deepens...... Yes, you are correct, Edea is controlled by Ultemecia/Rinoa. (Remember that this is just my theory) Did Rinoa not also inherit Edea's power? She took on Adels power when Adel was defeated and destroyed. Considering my theory this could have been because Ultemecia/Rinoa wanted to have Rinoa gain those powers so that she would have them in the future. Ultemecia/Rinoa could control Rinoa because it would be her past self, but she could control Edea because in the future she has Edeas powers. Following this theory means that Adel may also have been released so that Ultemecia/Rinoa could control her too. The seal prevented this from happening until the seal was released.... Get your head around that lot and let me know what you think

Re: The theory deepens...... Geez i never really thought about it much, but that bit where she could control edea cus she controlled her in the future still dont make much sense at all. But Now that i think about it perhaps rinoa is ultrimecia..But there must be a different reason why she can control edea, cause your theory on that bit dont add up. After 5 mins now and im real confused, let me sleep please....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz |

Re: The theory deepens...... Just another thing i myst work out, you know how squall has his ring called griever? well how come ultimicia's GF is also called griever? Ive competed it once but it was ages ago and im not sure completely what happened. So perhaps if someone has the time to tell me what happens at the end pls say!! And dont worry i will understand it so dont go in to detail if it has a conection with the parts before so on etc...If you catch my drift...Soz 2 be complicated.>D |

Theory continued and explained... Its not that Ultemecia can control Edea in the future, i don't use that as the explanation for why she can control her in the past. What i think is that when Edea relinquished her sorceress powers, they had to go somewhere right? So Rinoa took them on. Because she owns these powers in the future, she can control these powers in the past even though Edea still would have had them in the past. So, Edeas powers are Ultemecias powers in the future. As for Griever.... As you said, he is featured on Squalls ring. In the game it is never really explained why Ultmecia has Griever as her GF. I think that perhaps Rinoa/Ultemecia wanted something to remember Squall by in the future, so she either 1. created the GF Griever as her guardian so that she could remember Squall or 2. she searched the world for him and managed to find him. She adored Squalls rings, remember? and she was even given it at one point by Zell who reciveded it from Squall for a short while of the game. You'll have to exscuse my intellectual theories and ramblings, i'm a natural born geek and have a natural talent for rpg video games. |

I c well now that ive heard the griever theory it does make alot more sense that ultimicia is rinoa. Well what should we talk bout now? I am too a geek, only bout ff games from ff8 onwards. never liked the older versions |

FF7!!!!!!! You mean you've never actually played Final Fantasy 7?!?!?! I know it isn't the most graphically developed games ever but it holds one of the best storylines throughout Final Fantasy history. It takes a little time to get into, but believe me, you should play it! Once you leave Midgar things start to perk up a little. Which Final Fantasy is your favourite then? |

Re: FF7!!!!!!! Ive watched my brother play it but he sold the game and then i just not bothred with it...i know most of the characters but not much of the story line....... I'm not sure which is the best final fantasy, probably ff8...dont know why but the best character EVER has to be VIVI from ff9... HOw bout you? by the way ff12 for ps2 looks real good... www.ff12.com it looks real good. |

Re: FF7!!!!!!! FF8 and FFX/X2 are the best games for characters - Quistis, Yuna, Rikku, Tidus, Squall, Ultemecia. The characters were really believable and i loved them all. I think FF7 and FFX-2 have the two most intriguing storylines that i've seen. (Although i'm only on my second chapter in FFX2 - Only got it yesterday) FF9 and FFX had the best graphics really even though ff9's characters were realyl two dimensional in personality, they lacked the certain something to make you love them. Looks pretty cool, you know whether or not its going to be an online game? I'll be quite upset if they do strat to release all future final fantasies as online games. It ruins the experience if you have to share your story with somebody else. They are talking about - in a few years time- creating a FINAL fantasy. Haven't really heard much about it yet, its all just dark secrets and rumours. ^_^ |

Re: FF7!!!!!!! Cool I heard final fantasy is coming out in August 2004. So im not sure if thats japan or not but i have a feeling its not. Im not bothred bout ffx-2 although i am a girl the game is made for girls and i think it dont look or appeal to me. But is it any better than i said Fairil? |
