Verse of the day
Hello...

I have a calendar that has a verse to read for each day. I thought today's was wonderful. Here it is:

"Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah" Psalm 4:4

That is a wonderful verse. :sunshine I have been reading a book about contentment. In there it is mentioned that to be still, is to be content, in the Lord. Be content where He has us today and what He is working in us today. To be still and let HIS precious work be completed in us. How we all struggle with being still, I know I do at times. I have found that when I still myself, I am always blessed abundantly. What a wonderful Father we have!!! His ways are perfect for our today and tomorrows.

Thank you for sharing this blessed verse.

Does anyone else have some verses on being still or content?

Well, here are two of my favorites:

Phillipians 4:10
"Not that I speak with respect of want, for I have learned that whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."

Isaiah 30
"For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength..........."




"He leadeth me beside the still waters....."

Here was today's verse. I really like this one:

"The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him." Lamentations 3:25
