I'll be coming down for the action on Sunday to shoot some photos. If you're keen to see some images of your car drop me an email at info@speedshots.com.au and let me know your car and racing # so I know to look out for you.
I'll be putting a selection of photos online on Monday night for public viewing. Photos can be bought on CD, or as prints in all sizes up to 18x12"
Good luck to all the competitors this weekend - keep it clean....ish
Okay, the IPRA galleries are being put online now. Over 2L are complete, and the Unders are uploading as I type.... I've got shots of everyone, although the Overs are limited as I didn't know there was only going to be the one race on Sunday
Re: Wakefield Park Photography
Ok Dave, care to explain how the Rolla came to be facing somewhat perpendicular to intended direction of travel there, mate?
Nice pics, Nathan.

Re: Wakefield Park Photography
Maybe I should just post the in-car footage and you can make your own mind up Paul. I wouldn't want to say anything in a public forum that could be mistaken for something its not.
Needless to say I was a little disappointed with the result after getting such a good start and I now have a pretty big panel beating job ahead of me.
Cheers,
Dave

Great start
Dave
Awsome start - was really dissapointed for you.
BTW, that was me waving madly around the back of the circuit after the race.
SHould have my pix uploaded next couple of days.
Didnt take too many as I decided to have a boys day out with my 6 y.o son and we mainly spectated.
Will be back on line for all the future rounds.

Dave,
Sorry to hear about the damage, buy the looks of the first shot you must have made a demon start.
Put the footage up, we all want to see it now that you have mentioned it.
The damage was a door that "may" pop out, a flare and rear guard damage from that incident. The only good thing was that no-one else actually got me as the entire field went through. Special thanks to Footie and Scott as they had a really close view of it and could have easily made it worse.

Re: Great start
Dave,
To say I was was gutted for you is an understatement. Tanya and I came out for a look on Sunday and when the Overs rolled out Tanya asked "Where's Dave?" as she was expecting to see you back in the pack but when I pointed out that you were up the front, "Wow he's doing really well!" was the response. So when you got that great start, I was thinking this might be your day...... then you got to the second corner Mate, from where I was standing, you could feel well and truly hard done by. Is there/was there going to be any action taken by the race officials? It's very disappointing that those sorts of things happen especially considering that throughtout the other categories on the day there was some very close racing, all without incident. I hope the damage wasn't too bad... even though it looked like it might've been. I'm happy to bring the TIG over if you need any welding done (keeping in mind I'm still on a very steep learning curve )
Cheers

Just watched your video, what an awesome start, well done. Obviously hard to tell from just a video of that view but looks very unfair!
Go win the next race to teach them a lesson!

Re: Great start
Thanks guys, thats why I didn't want to say anything here, I let people make up their own minds about what happened via the video. The rest of the race was pretty interesting too (but no contact!), I'll make a small version of it tonight and post it too.
Obviously Rush didn't get the best start and that helped a lot, but I think I might have figured out how to launch the car off the line now. The 3 starts on the weekend showed me how to do it.
As for the damage, I've been pretty lucky with a stoved in door, broken flare, pushed in panel behind the door, punctured the door skin and broke the glass (window was down) and a few scratches in the front quarter panel. Some of it has popped out OK, but other bits require some bog/paint.
Boppa: Yeah I thought I had caught it from the first tap, but the second tap was just enough to send me right around. I guess thats the rally side of me coming out
Grant: Thanks mate. As for action from officials, it was a racing incident and thats the way it will stay as far as I am concerned. At least I managed to finish the race
Great start
That's gotta be the start of the year (so far anyway).
Most of us can only dream of a start like that. Well done Dave!
What a shame you got turned around

Re: Great start
You're right there Footie. Its nice to be towards the front of the field for once (for me anyway). Sorry about buggering up your chances, but thanks for not hitting me
BTW Nathan, great shots. It will be nice to have another camera out there getting some photos.

Turbo torque rules every time!
Those rotories with long first gears and low torque were always in trouble. To bad the turbo's will only rev to 5000!
