Wal-Mart SuperCenter
I heard again today that Wal-Mart is surveying so they can add on a grocery section so we can have a Super Center. Anyone know if this is true?
I've heard that some documents were signed regarding the expansion, so I guess that makes it official.

HOORAY! What a time-saver that will be. Plus more choices and more competitive pricing ( I hope). Let's hope it will really happen this time.

Wal-mart super center
Oh good! I think anyway. It will save me time from having to travel to Lake Jackson every week. I can but don't want to afford HEB prices. It's silly in my opinion to pay that much more for groceries compared to Wal-Mart's prices in LJ. I save about 80.00 a trip. My van is good on gas and I eat lunch and do other shopping while I'm there. I've been shopping in L.J. for 3 years every week. We'll see what they (BC) comes up with though. I love my hometown but, Bay City is know for doing things bass ackwards. I hope they can do this one thing right so we can stay home and shop.
Thanks for the replies I got I appreciate the info. and this is a neat forum. I'm glad I found it!

changing the subject
Maybe it's time to change the subject on the home page for this. I've only visited this site a few times but if it looked any different from one time to the next it might be a little more interesting. It is also pretty sad to see Bay City people dying to send their money outside of Bay City as hard as they can.
It seems to me that all Wal-Mart does is put all the local people out of business. One would think that in order to do the best thing for Bay City there should be an emphasis on buying local and keeping money here.

Hey, I'd love to buy locally and keep my money in Bay City. Now show me some selection and competitive prices. Bay City needs to attract more business instead of promoting tourism so heavily. Tourists typically spend money during their visits on food. We could use some more restaurants in this town, too.
Wal-Mart
That's what I am telling you. Who can compete with Wal-Mart's prices? That is how they kill the locals. They can buy in mass quantities and get products for dirt cheap.
One more thing, that "Made in China" sticker?
An estimated 200,000 people per year are sent to concentration camps in North Korea. A lot of these camps are factories that produce goods. The goods are often then sent to China and sold from there bearing that "Made in China" sticker. So you should watch out for those. They are the fruit of slave labor.
My source for this is Soon OK Lee's testimony that was published on MSN not too long ago.
Re: Wal-Mart
My mom, her husband, and my daughter are moving to Collegeport in a year. She told me and told me where Bay City is building a Super Wal-Mart. Well, I'm cooking beef stroganoff tonight. I'll start at 5:30.
