Was Firefly a ninja?
I know he dealt in explosions and stuff but his outfit resembled one of a ninja.

I believe he was. But he was also as the role of Ninja, an assassin. He was selling his services to the highest bidder.

Re: Was Firefly a ninja?
Filecards simply list skills in martial arts. For Firefly as ninja, see the Marvel comic, issues 124 to 134. I don't remember all the details, but I think he trained with the Arashikage ninja clan. Firefly and Zartan were both involved in a failed attempt to assassinate Snake-Eyes that led to Storm Shadow's joining Cobra to find the assassins.

I tend to minimize the ninja content in my own, personal Joe universe. In my army, Storm Shadow is the only frequently used character that relies on ninja skills. Even Snake-Eyes is primarily a commando. Firefly is strictly a saboteur and Stun driver.

Firefly
I tend to agree.I don't think Firefly was anymore a ninja than other Joe are Cobras trained in self defence.
In the new Image comics it seems he does have some sort of training because he is able to defeat Jinx.
I collect and like the comics, but I tend to stick with the cartoons.
(Though my friend and I DID play like Firefly was a ninja, because as silly little boys,we believed he was because of his outfit and mask)
