Yes, to answer your question, AGHOST has done an investigation at Western State. It opened in 1876 and was closed by the state sometime in the 1950s. In that time, a person could be declared insane for any number of reasons and incarcerated against their will by either the state or their family. Mental health and the root causes of insanity were still a long way off. Most of the people who are buried in the there were subjects of violent abuse, beatings, punishments, operations and other treatment proscribed and deemed necessary to cure the person of their illness. Sadly the numbers of people who died there will never be fully known, as some grave markers have been damaged or destroyed due to vandalism and lack of records by the hospital.

As to going at night, we at AGHOST do not recommend it. It is posted private property and is against the law to tresspass after dark. Cemeteries can also be very dangerous especially at night from inadequate lighting, sunken graves and other obstacles.
