What is Second Chances?
Second Chances is a roleplay community with a life after death theme. Here, after creating a character, you can begin to roleplay them in the different IC (In Character) forums below. Do you have to stay in character at all times here? Of course not, unless you'd like to. There are forums reserved for just talking with fellow members out of character.
Where did it come from?
My head and a few too many summer days with nothing to do. I got into roleplaying two years ago on a friend's site and I loved it instantly, granted, I wasn't very good at it. Well, my first roleplay site, which was like a home to me, started to head downhill, and personal relationships between the members got stressed. So, another friend and I got together and decided to create a new place to play. He would help with the creation, but the ideas were left up to me. What could I possibly create a site about? I'm not experienced in many things, so I decided to set out to discover something that no one on this planet has learned about yet. Life after death.
You mean we're all dead? You're running a site about DEAD people? Is this heaven?! Can I have wings?
Now, let's get this straight. Second Chances is just as the title states, a second chance at life. It isn't heaven, though we've had a couple characters who were half angels (yes, it's allowed!). You can have wings, but only if your character's race allows it. And that my friend, is up to you.
The story behind Second Chances is one that can be easily explained. This world is centered around three cities that were built by the people who arrived here.
Genil is the white city, full of gleaming towers and white streets, and smiling faces as well. This city is the purest, though it isn't without its own forms of crime and evil. Of course, thanks to the Elder Council, those forms usually die out quite quickly. The Elder Council is made up of the first 12 people to enter this new world after dying. This is the only form of goverment known throughout this struggling world, and the ties between the three main cities are growing more stressed by the day.
Nureese is the industrial city of this world. At times, the sky is blackened by the smoke put into the air by factories and powerplants that consume the city. Perhaps this is why the city has become a favorite for the vampires, for some days it is plunged into complete darkness by the weight of the black clouds.
Anarab is an Arabian-style city that powers itself off of greed. Here, you can find casinos, strip joints, and other sports on which to bet and waste your paycheck on. Though not consumed by the darker evil of Nureese, this city holds a threat all its own. Becareful, you may not leave with your heart and soul in tact, or your wallet still in your pocket.
Forgotten fantasies. Now wait just a minute, are you trying to tell me that these places exist in this world? Yep, they do. All of the fairy tales we were told as children and places we knew of but could never find exist here in all of their glory.
Adventurer's paradise. This world still holds a lot to be discovered, for those of us who still love to look for what we can't find before us. Stretching across most of the main continent are mountains and vast wilderness. Can you find what you've always hoped to discover?
