What books are you reading now?
Thought I post something here before EZ board decided to delete my board cos of low messages posting :b

i've finished reading A series of unfortunate events books 1 and 2 by Lemony Snicket and Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier. All these books were very enjoyable. Recommended to everyone. The 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' vcd has just released and I want to rent it. I'm starting to read A series of unfortunate events book 3.

Re: Re:Books
I'm reading Eragon right now, and it's very good. I haven't been reading near as fast as I usually do though. :rolleyes I probably should have finished it already.

But I keep meaning to ask, what are the Series of Unfortuate Events books about? I know it's going to be a movie coming out later, but I realized I have no clue what it is about. :b

Re: Re:Books
Erin, do you know that Eragon was written by a 15-year-old guy? He's 19 now. I was so shocked when I learnt that at the HP board. I want to read it too but it is on loan in the library :(

As for the Series of Unfortunate Events books, they are about 3 young orphans who lost their parents in a fire. After that, many unfortunate things kept happening to them. They moved from places to places, trying to escape an evil guy. I have finished books 1-9 except books 6 and 8 cos they're on loan.

I have also finished reading Ella Enchanted. As you know, there's a movie. But from what I watched from the trailer, it's terribly different from the book. I really love the book and I think I may buy it :D

Re: Re:Books
I finally bought Ella Enchanted today and will read it again once I finished reading Harry Potter 5 for the 5th time ;)

I've also placed a reservation on Eragon at the library since it is always on loan (got tired of waiting). Here are some books that I really want to read cos the reviews at the HP board and amazon are so good:

- Artemis Fowl books 1-3 by Eoin Colfer
- The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials, Book 1), The Subtle Knife (Book 2), The Amber Spyglass (Book 3) by Philip Pullman

Re:Books
sounds good, Eowilinde. I might have to read those last ones. I want to read Ella Enchanted too...I'm still waiting to watch the movies thou:rolleyes

Right now I'm reading a book by George MacDonald.
( He wrote The Princess and the Goblins.ever watched the movie? really good.)
It is called....The Curate's Awakening. It's a really good book if your not too much into romance. He adds a little bit of Mystery to his books too.
After I'm done with this, I might read The Winds Of Light series. their about mid evil times and all that. Ever read The Crystal Cave? good book, it's about Merlin, by Mary Stuwart.

Re: Re:Books
Oh, really? So do you remember whether those last books are good/interesting?

Those books you mentioned, nope never read nor heard before. They sound interesting. I did a search online and was disappointed that the library here doesn't have those books :( I seem to be reading only children's books nowadays :lol I found them more interesting than adult's books. I've loved fantasy stories since I was able to read :D

So many good books, so little time to read, so few books at the library, and so poor to buy them... *the grumbling goes on*

Re:Geoge MacDonald
I do too! sometimes childrens books are so much better then adult!

If you looking for the Winds of Light series, try ebay. They're written by Sigmond Brower. And you can find all of George MacDonald works at www.barns&nobles.com
Princess and the Goblins has a second book in the series called, The Princess and Curdie. Which is really good too.
I'm not for sure if their still printing the Winds of Light series, but you can try Barns&Nobles too for them....and Half.com ebay might have them.
But the Winds Of Light series has too be one of the best mid evil series I have ever read. Sigmond Brower is a very good writer!

I'm broke right now so, I just read what I can. I spent what little money I did have to buy the George MacDonald book I'm reading:rolleyes Oh well

Thanks for the advice Lady Eowyn :D I will try to find the books at the bookshops here because ordering from those sites will be expensive :( (the high currency exchange, shipping fee).
