What would you prefer?
There's a lot of great new music out there with more coming out everyday and then there are the timeless old classics that will live forever.

What would you rather hear SLUG cover at their gigs?
Only new stuff that RAWKS!! (Slipknot, Disturbed, Godsmack, Tool, etc) Forget the old dinosaur songs - my dad listens to that!
Only the old timeless classics (AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Rush, Black Sabbath, Kiss, etc) Forget that new crap, it's here today, gone tomorrow!
A mix of both with the emphasis on the old classics.
A mix of both with the emphasis on new stuff.
Dump everything and become a Alanis Morissette tribute band!

Do what you do best!
Stick with what you know! You do the old classic better then some of them did them originally! Some of the new tunes like Godsmack are cool too but the classics will always live on! Rock on Slug!

Re: Sluggestions
I agree, I love the old stuff but there are a few new ones that rock. Would love to hear some originals.

.
My vote went to mostly old with some newer ones!

Most modern stuffs a bit boring, especially if you have 2 guitarists playing a power chord riff throughout.

Re: ...mostly old with some newer ones
That's what I notice about the new metal bubblegum stuff coming out now days. They so seldom focus on the guitar and leads. Everything is just chunka chunka chunka power chords with 7 strings.

There were some great 2 guitar rock bands that knew how to use two guitars, but I have to agree that most cover bands today that use two guitars are just using them for fill. Two guitar bands are great for background fill while the lead shreds away and even better when they are able to trade off riffs or harmonize leads together. As far as SLUG is concerned, Ted holds his own with his talented digits, usually playing both the chords and leads together as much as possible and Joe is always there with his bass filling the voids with bottom.

Re: ...mostly old with some newer ones
I think Slug's forte is playing the older metal stuff which have emphasis on solos. Ted is a good player and can pull that stuff off without breaking a sweat. It also is apparent while the boys are onstage that they prefer playing old metal, and there's not enough bands around here that can pull that kind of music off without sounding like sh#t.

I myself am a wanker, so I chug chug along all the time. :lol But I'm not afraid to say I'm a wanker!!!! :rollin
