When posting pictures...
When you post an image, make sure that the server you have it stored on allows remote linking. More and more free web hosts are banning remote linking, so you have to be careful. Some ISP's provide web space as part of their membership package and allow you to use this space for hosting images. Check with your ISP to see if they offer this.
Another thing you can try is to make a web page, put your pictures on it, and then post the link to that page.
If you don't want to mess with HTML, then you can store your images at sites like www.photopoint.com, where you can make an online picture album and post a link to it.
I have been storing my pictures on Geocities but I heard that they will soon not allow hotlinking anymore unless your pics are part of your personal web page. I have several personal websites with them and so far so good.

Yeah, I've heard about that too. I've also heard there are people at Geocities who cruise around the webpages looking for users who hotlink.

All the graphics on my board are linked to Geocities but I have a backup. Just in case that Geocities pulls the plug on the hotlinking.
