Why the attraction?
I just had a race today where 13 people from as far away as 150 miles showed up, and most were from out of town. For many it was a rare time they raced T-jets, and for most of those a first with Fray rules. They were all excited, and loved the format. To a person, "I will be back".
So, does The Fray have something special, that so many magnet racers put down those cars in favor of the T-jet. I think it has to do with the way we set up the cars, more than anything. They aren't like the cars we grew up with, what with great parts like silicones, and wide wheels, and some of the "hogging" techniques used on the bodies. These cars really perform, and perform realistically. The Fray format only adds to it.
Anyway, I hope to see even more of you at the Fray next year. This year it has grown to 7 tables, and 14 teams. It have even gone international, with a team from Canada. All the scoring will be computerized, too. That's a big plus. Each table will require only that you put the names in the computer. The rest is done through the magic of silicon. Awesome!
