*A chilling wind blows through the trees that whisper their strange warning. There is no comfort here. The only thing that keeps you walking is hope that you will find a way out. But what is hope? Here, it is a fake dream; a wish that can't come true. There is a limit to how much hope one magical place can hold, and this forest has reached it's limit; and you know it. You can feel it, but yet you move on. You reach a small clearing; a very small clearing, only a few trees are missing from this spot. A lake fills the entire clearing. You edge up slightly less cautious, for you have had no water for days. The closer you get the more thirsty you are and the more your fear ceases. Finally you make it to the lake and look down into the water. You scream and stumble back. The water is black and thick like tar...and something was moving in there. A water snake most likely, a long living-dead water snake. As you stand up again the middle of the lake begins to rise. You stop dead in your tracks and hold your breath. The tar substance seems to cover a woman or an elf. The tar melts away to reveal a fairy. Her wings look like those of a dying butterfly, still colorful and shimmering but a bit raged. Her hair is pulled up into pig tails, that make her look younger than she really is, a green thin strapped dress flows gently in the cold wind. She looks up and you focus first on her eyes, a murky green color with no feeling in them. Two small red horns grow from her forehead. You breath again, but cautiously. She floats steadily toward you and you begin to slowly back away. She holds out her hand and you reach for it, but you don't want to, it's just a reflex to her power. Not as powerful as some of this world, but still powerful enough to cause this reflex. She stares at you and doesn't even smile evilly.*
"Who are you and why are you here?"
*She says with an unnaturally even voice that has a slight touch of deceit and you think you heard smething of worry and love, But that thought dissapears quickly. You stare up at her but stop because her eyes frighten you, so you must answer so she'll let you go on quickly...you hope. But we've talked about hope already.
"I--I'm l-l-lost."
*You stutter out. She raises her eyebrows as if to say 'Is that so' Then she drops your hand and turns. You breath again happy to be free from her and her begin to leave. But then you stop. You can't move; you feel panic rising up in you as you hear the crunching of dead leaves behind you. An unnatural blood curdling scream echoes through the forest full of pain and hatred and loss. Your legs feel weak and collapse from under you. Then all goes black...*
"Don't worry you're not dead...yet."
*The spirit of connection may save you still, but she did just attack you so... you may hope*
