Your first car...
I was going through some old photos today and ran across some of my first car...a 1974 Plymouth Duster with a 198ci Slant Six, 1bbl Carter, and a three speed on the floor!!! Talk about power!! I bought it when I was a sophmore in high school, wrecked it my about a year later (nice flip) and bought a 76 Volare Roadrunner (good car).
Damn that was a long time ago...1982/83...
My first car was a `68 Chevelle SS396/ 4 spd.Unfortunatly the 396 was pulled by the previous owner and he stuck in a 307/ powerglide.I paid $500 for it and couldn`t have afforded the gas for the big block anyway. At least it looked cool, sounded good and took a beating for the couple years I owned it.
Re: Your first car...
'74 Charger, 318. Would have made a good car but wasn't my style.
Bought my 'bird and I'm much happier because of it even though it has only 20-30 miles on it since I have had it.
After the bird came here to nest I needed a truck so went to work one summer and got a '77 1/2 ton. Not a bad truck really. Worked on it a lot and learned a bunch.
Year or 2 later I bought a '79 1 ton 360 4brl 4 spd. 22,000 ori. miles. Had lots of fun, broke stuff, fixed stuff, still have it but it needs a new home as I have taken a different direction in life.
Bought my '70 Challenger from the original owners and drove the hell out of it. It has 300,000 miles and shows it. I've gone throught the entire back end of the car and it nears a return to the highway.
Also have Dad's '92 diesel but the OD gave out after 230,000 over abused construction miles, don't have 700 laying around for a new one but I don't really need it anyway at the moment.
Then I got my '01 WS6 T/A last year and have throughly enjoyed it. I'm selling though because I just bought property and I can't afford it anymore. Real killer car(13.15 @104 through stock exhaust, over 20 mpg highway, auto) if you know anybody interested.....
Well that wraps up my life story.

Lime Lite 1970 318 Barracuda. I still own it too! I blew the motor within the first year of owning the car and replaced it with a 440. The car already had a 'Cuda hood and now it wears a set of rallye wheels. communities.msn.com/Alask...hotoID=134
Re: Your first car...
1972 Plymouth Duster Twister.318/904 2.76 7 1/4 rear.It was a nice car,lemon twist yellow with black bench seat.That was 24 years ago.......
Re: Your first car...
My first car was a Baja bug that my dad gave me. Never even had it on the road!
My first decent car was a 66 Impala SS Conv 327 2-speed. It was pretty cool.
My first Mopar was a 69 Charger 318 car with a 340 in it. Pretty quick for a small block in a big car.
But my first REAL car was my 69 Coronet R/T 440 Auto which I still have. I bought it off the origional owner in 88, gave it a tune up and burned off a 13.62 @ 107 with 3:23's and 235 60 14 Goodyear ST's. Gotta love it!
Re: Your first car...
My first car was a 1970 Super Bee. I bought it in 1977 for $450, I was 15 years old. Being a Toronto Ontario car, it was already rusted and fixed once ... and needed body work again. In early 1978 I found a 1968 Coronet R/T for $350 and bought it. A friend wanted my Super Bee so I sold it to him and then fixed up the R/T ... did I mention the it was rusty too? The R/T was my first car that I drove on the road (legally). I sold the R/T a few years later to buy my 1969 340 Swinger and many many more Mopar$ followed ... The End.
Re: Your first car...
My first vehicle was a '73 International 1310 4x4 with a 392 and a 4-speed. Rode like a brick, had no exaust and belched oil smoke everywhere. Ran the shit out of it.
My first Mopar is a '71 Plymouth Satellite, factory 383/4-speed, Dana 60 rear. It's currently sitting in the driveway, awaiting the infusion of cash.

1970 Plymouth Scamp, looks like a Dart. Got it when I was 14, my dad sold it when I ran away for a few days when I was 15. I guess for every action there really IS a reaction.

Ahhhh, my first car memories!!! First was my Grandfathers 1953 Buick Roadmaster. I got it in 10th grade when he passed away and my grandmother needed to be hauled around to the store. Loved the car, mater of fact it saved my life about 6 months later. A guy in a 62' T-bird broadsided me on the passenger side after he ran a red light, was told that only thing that saved me was the "old tank" of a Buick.
After that I bought me a 57' Ford Fairlane. That got me through all the Wyoming winters, was just an awsome car on the snowy streets as I remember it.
hey 69 beep beep where does your black bird originate? i have a black one too! 383 4speed!,my first car was a 67 impala, then a 69 impala, then a 66 396-4 sp.chevelle ss,then a 70 GTO judge all before 1975,then bought a 71 Bee 440-6,auto for $900 in around 77,a 71 charger R/T 440-4sp.$400 w/no windshield, and tons of dusters and valiants to get around in for $50-100,had my brothers hemi 70 bee for awhile and a 68 charger R/T 440,a really wore out aar cuda for awhile, and now 23 years later a 69 383/4 sp. black runner, undergoing a major rotisserie resto and getting either a fresh '69 440HP last one i'll ever re-do so going all the way!!!keeping the A31 3.91.in her.geez, almost forgot my '71 runner and 3 parts cars and my 73 chargerSE i just sold to make room for the 69.

Re: Your first car...
First car ( Geeeezz this will date me!) was given to me by a war (WWII) buddy of my dad. 1948 Pontiac 4 door DEEEElux Cedan, just as posh, had a bar in the back of the front seat, "Lot's of Legg room" if ya now what I mean. A real drive in (movie what movie!!) machine.
The first one I bought was a 55 ford w/ a 272 two bbl. 3 spd on the column. It was sooo rusted the body felt like it shifted on the frame crossing RR tracks! Swapped the rusted front end with a 56, added a 4bbl. Wore that out, found a junked 312, added 2x 4bbl, blew it up! Junked it for $25.00.

72 Roadrunner
My first car was a brand new 72 Roadrunner 340/airgrabber. I was 16 years old in 1972 and my mother was an elderly widow that did not drive. Since I was getting a license she was going to buy us a 'family' car that I would chauffer everyone around in. Since she knew nothing about cars, she let me pick it out.....
I drove that car for 9 years. Then foolishly traded it off.
I now have another 72 RR 440 that makes me feel 16 all over again. I tried to find my original RR, searched in all 50 states for it, but it is not registered. But, there has also never been a salvage title issued for it. So, it is either a trailer queen or is rusting in somebodies field.
first car...
Mine was a 72 BUICK Skylark. It had a 350 in it. It was the worst looking matching numbers car ever! lol
I was 16 (I'm 34 now), didn't have my license yet.......you know where this story is going. I wanted to show the car to a friend. We took a quick ride up to the quarter car wash. Pulled out, Police lights on me. I was arrested and spend 30 minutes of hard time in the slammer! (does this make me an ex-con?...COOL). My brother bailed me out for $100. Dad didn't find out till the court day, mom spilled the beans. He shows up to the court house before my hearing. $75 fine and I'm home free.
The Buick crapped out on me before ever leaving the driveway again. I took off the wheels & hood, and had the tow truck come get it for $35. I still have the hood.....mint shape if anyone wants a 72 Skylark hood on their mopar, lol.

Re: first car...
Mine was a 68 SS396 Chevelle 4spd it was the L-78 375 horse model and the guy who I bought it from had done some mods to it and it would run in the mid 12s on belted tires, this was back in 1979.
My older brother had a 70 Super Bee 383 and I set out to buy a Mopar at 1st, I did go look at a 71 Super Bee 383 auto wich was in beautifull condition, yellow with black stripes, but when I drove the SS later that day i have to admit I was 15 Y/O and I was looking for speed not looks.
Oh well I got 2 Mopars now.

Re: first car...
Mine was in '76, a 69 GTO 400-4spd, I used to ride to school with this guy, and one day after he spent a weekend of "tuning", the car would barely run. I gave him $350.00 for it, and paid $25 to have it towed home. Put the plug wires on in the correct order, an that car would SCREAM.....
