Your thoughts on the game.
Ok i think Dawezy would agree with me when i say that this is absolutely the best final fantasy of all. The story line made all of the others look like crap. Kain was one of the coolest looking characters too.
Well yes, i whole heartily agree with you.. hehe, best thing going for FFIV was its intense Story/Character Set, aside from the old sprite-based graphics, it was a damn hard game if you didnt know what you were doing.. the hidden summons in particular, Odin got me more then a few times back in the day, but that added to the challenge.. i eventually got him, which i was fucking well proud of.
But anyway, im straying off.. heh, FFIV was a real kick for me, once i got into it and understood the story and characters behind the whole thing.. ive been hooked ever since

Well beside FFVII that's my fave FF (VII because it was my first I guess) it had a storyline...great characters and music.......Everytime I hear the music after not playing for a while I think how great the game is!!!

I remember first playing this on the PSx, the first thing that came to my mind was, wow. The game was an awesome game for it's time. For being the first FF to hit the SNES platform, it was amazing. The question I asked myself though was... Why didn't they release this on the psx sooner? The only old skool game I think that can rival it is maybe III. I've always though III's characters were more mapped out. The music though, goes to 4. The story is a tie though. I've always loved the FF games with the kings, castle... like said in another post. Yet with III they just did so much...

its a great game but the ff's 5,6, and tactics are better imo...... BUT THAN AGAIN XENOGEARS IS BETTER THAN ALL .......as I will always say....... but hey this game has some great chars and moments...... even if I hate edward...

When someone says, "RPG" I think of FFIV.
When I think of video games, I think of FFIV.
It would be my belief that Sakaguchi was at his peak when he created this game. This game has the Three behind it: Sakaguchi, Amano, Uematsuo. This one is even backed up by the mighty Miyamoto.
Enough with the team. The story is set in medieval and future like settings. It's a perfect balance. I don't think they've nailed that balance like they did in FFIV. FFVI + is simply futuristic, and FFIII - is simply medieval. I'd cite examples to prove both, but I'm tired, and it will give me a reason to post in the future.
FFIV great game. I have a lot of thoughts on this game, but those are the most general ones.
I remember renting it, back in the day, and thinking it was awesome.... then I went back 8 years later and bought a copy of it for 21.99... hahaha... now you see them for 150.. lmao....
..anyways, went back 8 years later, and bought it on the sole memory of playing it for that 1 week back then... it was THAT good.

Really I still use FFIV as a standard for critique of the other FF games. About how lame FFVII's story was compared to it, damn hippies trying to shut down power plants, and things like that. I think I still got my old SNES cartridge too. Dosen't work anymore though...
