decorating suggestions needed My hubby says, "No" to painting the knotty pine paneling in our living room. He loves it and the hardwood floors. I do have a braided area rug, but all that wood plus the wooden furnishings are really getting to me. I thought about painting the doors and trim. I can't decide whether to use a white or go for some color, either way I'm not sure I'll like the results Robin |

Re: decorating suggestions needed
Robin,
I do understand your problem. We too have a knotty pine ceiling and live in a log house. So we have a lot of wood!! I have always used light colors in our home to decorate. This make the whole room light up and yet it is a warm inviting feeling, due to the wood. I would suggest a large light color floor throw rug. That will help protect your wooden floor and lighten up the room at the same time. I use off white cutains and also hang a display quilt or tapasty or even a cotton rug. Using light colors as the main theme on the wall hanging. I think that, if you tend towards these light colors and open weave curtains with shades...this lets the light in during the day and will lighten up the room. I love our wood and would not want to paint it at all. It would cause the value to depricate esp. in a log home. Think Light colors in most of your decor, with a touch of dark for accent! Blessings on your home, as you make it a delightful place for your family. Mrs Lyn Edited by: Emilee Elizabeth at: 3/6/03 8:05:29 pm |
