disc brake conversion on an 8 3/4 rearend???
I think the paddock has this kit and I know I've seen it other places. Has anyone put discs on their 8 3/4???? I hate working on drums!!!!
pretty sure anything the paddock has that can be obtained elsewhere will be cheaper to get elsewhere.
I too hate the drums but basically the high dollar swap for rear discs turns me away. I'm not sure that there is that much of a gain anyway, Eburg at Mopar Action swears by his stock rear drums but he runs a light car. I suppose end goal would change the outcome. Heavy cars like RR's will be harder on the brakes all the way around than lightert cars, plain and simple.

Re: disc brake conversion on an 8 3/4 rearend???
from what i've found so far, the paddock has the cheapest,or at least competitive, price. probably has the cheapest parts too!! still searching.
Re: disc brake conversion on an 8 3/4 rearend???
do they make any mention what brand the rotors and calipers are? If they are a decent name brand it may pay to go their way, but I'll bet they are just middlemen for someone else's products....if you could some how find out if MP brakes or similar company makes the kit I bet you can get it cheaper- ala Year One and "their" Legendary interior stuff
Re: disc brake conversion on an 8 3/4 rearend???
Check out The Streetrod Manufacturing Co. for economical rear disc conversion. I haven't tried it, but can't hurt to call.

there's a guy on moparts selling an 8 3/4 already set up with discs, narrowed and ready to bolt into a b body,$500 has pics too!it has tall gears but for the price swap in the ratio you want.
