I liked this episode too. It was the better half of the two-parter.
The scenes I liked: Max freaking out in the elevator. That was pretty good, especially when he turned and caught the guy next to him giving him a funny look. The Liz and Maria virgin scene. That was cute! I liked all the interaction between Liz and Ava. Ava definitely is the nicest dup. But I loved the sheer sneakyness of Lonnie. And yes, Tess was pretty great in this ep too. I also liked Max standing up for Tess, and saying he was the man, since he was the one that passed the emissary's test. I liked Liz coming to Max's rescue, in a way. And I liked the last scene between Max and Liz, and they're finally becoming friends again. I am hopeful that they'll get back together soon.
The only ominous tone in the episode was the history repeating itself theme. I wish we knew exactly what Zan/Max did in his previous life. And how can he avoid making the same mistakes, when he has no clue about what happened to all of them before? I hope the granolith has some more mom-a-grams or dad-a-grams explaining their history or something.
Now I can't believe we have to go through Roswell withdrawal so soon! Nothing but repeats for a while now.

Hello all...don't worry about me Lisa, I was a little under the weather for a few days so I didn't log on here, but you're not going to get rid of me that easy - someone has to keep you Dreamgirls in check.
A really good episode, I thought, but have to agree with what many of you said about some parts of it seeming rushed. I've found that to a problem with more than a couple episodes this season. Last year it seemed that they had too many episodes that seemed to drag in places. I know you ladies loved all that 'Roswell 90210' stuff but there were many episodes that did nothing to advance the theme or storyline of the show. Take the insipid "Blind Date" for an example, a total throw-away (with the possible exception of the 'Drunk Max' scenes). Now this year it seems like they try to cram two eppy's worth of developments into every show. I wonder if Katims is a little paranoid that the show will gets its rug yanked out from under it...it WAS almost dropped, sadly. Maybe he's trying to develop the story line this season with the intent of being able to wrap the show up in a reasonable manner in three or four episodes if the unthinkable happens. We know that they ordered a bunch of scripts but they COULD cut production at any minute. Hollywood just seems to be cold like that sometimes (any comments Ryal?). But, chin up, I don't see them doing that, ratings have been good. Maybe they're just keeping up this frenetic pace to keep us on our toes and keep us rivited to every second of every scene. Yeah, that's it.
Lonnie and Rath will be back, as will Nikolas. I'm sure of it. What great jobs by Brendan and Katherine these past two weeks. I've never given Kate a lot of credit for her abilities. Other that "Surprise!" I've thought Isabel has been kind of flat and uninspired. After seeing her trmendous job as Lonnie it must just be how Mr. Katims wants Izzy portrayed because she obviously is a talented actress.
No Kyle, No Alex (AGAIN) - The two most underused characters in Prime Time, unfortunately.
I hope Desmond Askew hangs around for a while. Brody is hilarious and I loved they way they worked him into this ep. After his 'abduction' when Maria asks him if he's hungry and he replies "I don't think they fed me..." A Zen moment of laughter for me, don't know if anyone else found it that funny, but it FLOORED me!
A funny episode overall, even though most of the humor was a Tess's expense, I still had a ball. Now I'm not one to approve of joking about mental deficiencies (because I seem to have so many of them ) but Rath to Tess: "Was someone talking to you, retard?!?" just killed me!!! Perhaps the funniest moment of the season!
It was cool to see Max's confidence develop through out the show. Starts out ranting like a loony in the elevator and ends up at the end in Rath's face doing a 'Zan' - "I'm the man..." Great interaction between Max and Tess - the most gentle we've seen yet. And (ok, you can throw sharp utensils at me) after the scaffold fell he looks dazed, wondering where Liz went. The a light goes on and its all "Tess! TESS!" and he starts to sprint off to rescue the damsal in distress. Yay!
I knew he'd be back at some point but I fell over when Nikolas showed up. Did the spoilers let on to this?
Good line from Nik - "Glad to see your genocidal girlfriend. Kill anyone today?" Tess: "Day's not over." Nik: "A real charmer." Great interaction.
And one more for you IMM, with your "Max would know her from the GOOD within" - get your head out of the clouds, girlfriend!!

Oh just a last liner jab huh Brian.. OH HOW I MISSED THEM this last week!!! Your finally feeling better I can see.. Nice to hear... Rather you being "yourself" then not here at all... Well,,, UMMM BRIAN.. Max was smart to know what Liz was.. He knew Tess was there with him.. and he being the KING.. had to go and protect her... WHAT A MAN.. You know.. the more I watch Jason playing Max the more I realize how reality men look.. so bad... The make Max so darn wonderful.. Controlling or not... He is just wonderful..
Now Liz can call herself.. Secret keeper Liz who can hang around Secret Keeper Max.. what a team!
Now I know someone else has to of noticed the word Bride not used around Tess... I mean if any Eppy would have used it, It would have been this one.. and not a one said it.. and she was really treated as dirt by all these other aliens. Why?? Tess is hiding something.. I wish Ava would have given us some dirt on herself.. but NO.. just wait it will happen.. and when it does.. I hope Brian isn't sick!!
Oh and Yes Brian.. the spoiled people all ready knew about Nick being there. Brody too... See we can keep out mouths shut!! You see on Sat. Morning you can go to the spoiler fan forum and there is a complete rundown on the shows because StarMonkey2000 gets Roswell on Friday Night or early Sat Morn. and she gives a complete run down on it... I have tried not to go look.. but well no will power here.. I will TRY not to look at the Christmas one.. It will be hard.. but I hear it will be a good one and I kinda want to be surprised.. but heck thats nearly 3 weeks away.. who know what kind of withdrawals I will go through by then!!!

And hey, just where did Ava get off to anyway? She seemed nice but maybe not too bright. Don't know how she's going to survive on her own (working girl?). How could The Pod Squad let her go without soaking her for info?
Maybe this should be on the bloop thread but it looked like Max ran off in the wrong direction when he went after Tess. Tess was behind him but it seemed he ran off towards where Liz-O-Gram was standing which was ahead and to the right of where he was standing.
We never did see "Tess" back in Roswell at the end. Either they didn't want to pay the special effects bill for another scene with two of the same person in it (hmmmmmm - TWO Emilie's - that's art ) or it was because Tess was actually Lonnie and she was lying low fearing that Ava might see through her disguise.
We still don't have a name for their planet. And they never really explained why The Five Planets are fighting each other. Obviously Kavar is fighting a civil war with Max's people on their planet but why are the other worlds fighting? Kavar knows The Granolith is on Earth so he wouldn't be attacking the others to try and get it. Maybe this whole summit was just a Kavar ploy to try and get Max to give it up. Larak didn't help to clear it up with his cryptic talk with Max about their past.

I think its going to get really good in the second half of the season. There are many possibilities.. I didn't know the Dupes could shape shift? I mean Lonnie didn't really shapeshift. She is identical to Iz... and if she could shapeshift then they wouldn't of had to change their cloths.. (Remember Roth tells her after Max leaves.. lets get out of these cloths..) So I don't think she is Tess. I don't think we have seen the last of the Rejects though. I wonder if Zan also had the Royal seal on his brain. Roth looked so surprised when Max passed, He said, you are the freaken King.. lets celebrate.
Talk about an evil bunch.. I hope the guy who was Brody comes back.. He did say that holding on to these bodies takes alot of energy or something like that...

Brian, What were you saying about Max not being with Liz but someone else??? I couldn't hear/read it for the constant "Max & Liz, Max & Liz, Max & Liz..." running through my mind. I think they'll end up together, and it'll be be soon (I can finally say that)...in the next few eps (that's what I think anyway...and what I kinda remember from my spoiler-reading days). But who knows, that could've all changed by now. Can't wait to see MAX AND LIZ back together again...happy and more in love than ever!

Ok IMM or whoever you are now - about the SMILIE thing. Thanks for your remedial explanation but let me say that I'm an idiot NOT a moron (or is that vice versa, I'm not sure which). I can cut & paste with the best of them (at least that's what my kindergarten teacher said) but they would not work. My post showed the URL link I had put there, but for some reason it did not show the smilie. I even tried to use the HTML links but they didn't work either. I guess smiley faces just don't want me messing with them because I'm such a NASTY person.
As for trying to say Emilie is a generic name I will say this: It may becoming common now but I think its a wonderful name. My youngest daughter has that name (spelled traditionally - Emily) so EAT IT.
As for The Dups shapeshifting and Rath's "let's get out of these clothes" comment, I think what he was actually implying was "Let's get jiggy wit it." Lonnie was wearing Isabel clothes, then they switched and she was in her punk get-up, so obviously they can shift somewhat, at least.
In closing IMM, no, you haven't whined enough to get me feeling bad about dogging you. You must understand that I truly have "The evil inside" I'm just glad we're all friends here, because my days and nights (and blood pressure) wouldn't be the same without YOU ALL!!

Well, Tina.. I don't know yet when I will be out. My friend in Vegas has to go out there for up to 6 months.. Her daughter had a relapse with Leukemia and the bone marrow transplant is there at UCLA. So that is where she will have to go.. I just think that I should go out there and stop in for her. You know that moral support (my oldest has many medical problems so I kinda know what she is going through).. (we kinda make jokes about her daughter and my son being soul mates.. but we both happen to think its true.. I have never seen two kids like these two.. when she first had the relapse. All she wanted was my son there with her.. so I drove from Tucson to Vegas for her. He wanted to stay in the hospital with her so she wouldn't be so afraid! Now here is the kicker.. My son just turned 4 Oct 7 and she will be 4 on Jan 7! We left Vegas over a year ago and they are still close as ever)
I did plan or should I say hope Roswell would be taping.. Oh you have no idea (yeah you do) how much I WOULD LOVE to see Jason.. (to talk to him would be another thing..) (AND NO BRAIN.. THERE IS NOTHING GENERIC ABOUT HIM he's the real thing! And before you say that I scrapped my man again. I have seen, and talked to him plenty of times.. He really is a nice man, and I look forward to seeing him in spring training..)
Tina I would love to meet for lunch.. I will let you know when I find out when she will be there.. I believe its after the 1st of the year.. I don't know if I will even be able to see the little girl.. You know the whole germ thing.. Even if I don't get to I will still go out. I need time away from here!! (kids, husband.. Lis, so precious about your son and this young girl. <3 How sad about her having cancer. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago...went through chemo, radiation, the whole nine yards. That was the hardest thing I've ever had to watch/go through. I can't imagine what it must have been like for her. She amazed me. And to have a little four-year-old girl go through that is just so unfair.
I am hoping we can get together to meet in person if you do come out...however I am about an hour and a half away from Covina and if you're here during the week...I could only meet you for dinner or something. But we'll figure it out.

Tina I would be there on the weekend.(leave here on Friday fly to Vegas and hook up with a friend and drive to LA) My husband is from San Bernardino so I know the area around LA a little bit, my cousin use to live in Rancho Cucamonga.
My mother also had breast cancer but she is past her 5 years now. Its been like 8 now.
I am not as happy this weekend as usual because there is nothing to look forward to on Monday.. This really sucks!
Well, I will get by with all my tapes... but for 2 weeks.. I will be able to recite all the shows!

As for the shapeshifting controversy -
If you are going to be watching tapes of old shows make sure you watch "The White Room". In that eppy Nasedo tells Michael that they DO have the ability to shapeshift but they don't know how to yet. Michael does, however, shift his fingerprint into that of the dead agent. So there, you generic thing. In regard to Max's torture in this ep I noticed that no one ever requested a 'Tortured Max' back on "The Dups" thread. But we sure got MUCH excessive drooling over 'Future Max', 'Shirtless Max', 'Shirtless Running Max', 'Shirtless Sitting Max', 'Shirtless Standing There Doing Nothing Max', etc., etc., etc. Why not just ask Santa for a 'GENERIC Max' and get it over with?!? (OUCH!)
