Good to see your posts...you don't visit us often enough.
I agree, I think this one will be full of special effects, scary moments and tense moments possibly between Liz, Max, and Tess. But it will be good! It will be very interesting to see what happens between our favorite 'dream couple' after all that's happened...
Re: Harvest
Wow, another great eppy. Gripping. Perfect mix this week of action and inter-personal stuff, if you ask me. Maria gets the best lines every week, she just ROCKS!! Another good job by Shiri this week and a GREAT job by Jason.
As for the developments this week - I never would've thought Courtney was anything other than pure evil. Those writers just keep my head spinning. Tess with her head on Max's shoulder and Liz glancing constantly in the rear-view mirror !! Sorry, that just KILLED me (sorry Dreamgirls, don't hate me because Tess is gorgeous ) There was that heartbreaking scene between Max and Liz on the street, to make it even worse. Nicholas - what a little bastard. Thought he was funny, though. More clues as to Vilandra's betrayal. How interesting. No Sheriff, No Kyle, No Alex this week. This show is just gonna HAVE TO go to two hours to fit in all the talent. Hell, I'm just glad we're getting a FULL season. Where's Grant been?
We've got a wipeout coming next week - CAN'T wait! Only 6 days and 22 1/2 hours to go!
Re: Harvest
Wow! Just finished watching this episode. It was interesting...suspenseful with not knowing what exactly the skins had in mind for our beloved aliens. But we knew it couldn't be too bad or we wouldn't have a rest of the season, right?!
Some things...
1. Loved how Max confronted Liz about everything and said that he knew her and that wasn't like her, she was hiding something. My heart almost broke when he followed her out into the street at night and they talked/argued. Did you see the look on her face (she so did not want to do this to him)...and the look on his face...and then he turned and walked away.
2. Loved the Michael/Maria interaction...it was great!
3. Loved Tess' comment when asked Liz about how Kyle was in bed..."Well Noted"
4. I can't believe Isabel didn't tell them all about the Vilandra thing knowing that it could get them in danger when they visited Arizona! Was hoping she'd spill all Whitaker told her, but know it won't come out til later sometime, if at all.
5. So sweet how Max tried to save Liz when the skins locked him, Tess, and Liz in the room where the funeral was..."She's not one of us, let her go".
6. Liz looked so cute driving the Jeep on their way to Arizona...and how Max said he hadn't slept since he saw her with Kyle.... *Sniff, sniff*
7. Cool of Courtney to destroy the "husks"...and you can just tell it's Courtney's husk Michael brings out and puts in the trunk...especially the way he was looking at her husk before that. Interesting...
8. LOVED how when Max noticed the Grier (sp?) guy peel a piece of skin off by Whitaker's coffin and the look on his face as he SLOWLY turned around and said "Let's get out of here".
9. Looked like Liz almost/perhaps wanted to tell Tess about what really happened with Kyle...as to not deter her or damage Tess and Kyle's chance of maybe having something. I wonder when the truth will come out...
10. Oh, and loved when they're in what looked like a classroom (sitting at/on desks) and Michael kicks Max's desk... And how Max rubbed his face, you could just tell he was somewhere else...thinking of Liz.
I have hope. It doesn't look good right now, but I think Max will find out, love her even more for what she's done/been through, and they'll get back together. <3
Can't think of anything else right now...I'll have to watch it again and I know the rest of you will bring up other points. Hope to hear from you all soon...
Next week looks good...weird with Valenti and then Kyle disappearing into thin air right in front of people...wonder if Liz and Maria will disappear too?
Re: Harvest
Yeah, Tina - Great point about Izzy not mentioning the 'Vilandra' thing. Forgot to mention that in my post. It did put them all in greater danger in Az. What's up with that?!?
Wondering who's side she's on (no, not really...),

Re: Harvest
And what's with this whole Michael being the salvation of the planet??? Courtney said he wasn't a skin like them, but she also made it sound like he wasn't exactly on Max's side either...she mentioned this Rebelian (sp?)....so who's side is Michael on??? Weird. And why is Max (it seems by what all we've learned) such a bad leader/king??? Does something or someone (maybe Liz) distract him so much or sway his views so much that he forgets how to do his job well, or what's right or important??? This whole issue has me confused and asking a lot of questions. Hope some light is shed soon...
Oh, and just remembered how great was that line from Nikolas (Miko) about "the Royal Four...if they could see you now...walking around like clueless teenagers trying to discover themselves" --or something along those lines. GREAT line! So true!
Re: Harvest
ARGHHH!!! I lied down on the couch about 8pm intending to get up and watch Roswell. I do that every week. Last night I fell asleep and when I woke up it was 10 minutes till 10. Thank God for VCR's. I'll watch it today, and got my spoiler fix from the previous 3 or 4 posts.
WOW
Wow... It was a good show.. except of course about the tension between Max and Liz.. (I mean even that was good but well.. you all know) Courtney said that Michael could have saved their planet.. But he was to loyal to Max and that is why what happened happened..
No one is really saying what happened to Max.. why did he stink as a leader,, SO far we are getting pieces about Izzy and Michael... but nothing about Tess and Max, I am sure that is to come. Why didn't Courtney tell Michael about Izzy? I mean they must know... How she betrayed her brother...
I don't know if anyone noticed but Izzy went in the jetta at the end that left Max, Tess, and Liz in the jeep... Oh yeah.. Liz was sitting in the front.. you can see her when Max drives away... Some tense ride home.... I think Tess should have squeezed into the Jetta!!
I loved Maria in this one. She was so funny! When she said it feels like they are Scully and Molder (sp?) I loved that line... I liked the look on Max and Liz's face when she put a hole into the Congresswomen.. It was great... Nothing was said to Maria or Michael about Liz and Kyle.. I am sure Maria would flip out and tell them it was not true...
Last season it was Max trying to stay away from Liz.. this season its Liz.. Next season ... maybe none of this. They can just be together and over come obstacles together...
Next week looks good... Are the Royals in the Crashedown when they are at the poles? It looks like it. Looked like Max is trying to heal "someone" on the floor.. NOT SAYING A WORD just in case Brian DIDN'T see that part..

Vilandra Issue
Hi all,
I've been reading the posts here for quite a while and this is my first post. I haven't seen this thread discussed anywhere so I apologize if it has already been posted.
Has anyone considered that the Skins might be lying to Isabel to try to convince her to betray her brother? I think Michael was onto something when he said that Courtney's line about being part of a rebellion who wanted to follow Michael instead of Max is just part of the Skins' plan to divide and conquer. The Skins probably have many different tactics being played out simultaneously i.e. (Vilandra project to convince Isabel to betray Max), ("Rebel" Skin Faction to convince Michael to betray Max).
From everything that been said it seems as though the Skins already have control of the pod squads home world. They only want the granolith so that they can survive on Earth and take over? It didn't seem as though the skins are afraid of the Royal Four. They just want the location of the granolith. Since all four of them know it, just getting any one of them to betray Max would accomplish their goal.
Please let me know what you guys think about this. Thanks!
Re: Vilandra Issue
Ryal-- Hope you watched it this morning...it was good. And, yes, thank God for VCRs!
IMM--Maria was very funny...back to her sassy self.
Oh, and I didn't notice it looked like Max was healing somone next week...I have to rewatch the trailer. And I don't know about them being in the Crashdown when they're at the poles...I don't think so...it doesn't really look like it to me.
roswelfax-- Welcome to the boards...hope to see you posting more often. We're a harmless bunch...just obsessed with Roswell.
VERY GOOD point about the skins trying to get them to betray Max...I hadn't really thought about it that way. Hmmm...could very well be a SKIN plan to divide the four of them.
Re: Harvest
Thought of another funny part... when Max, Is, Tess, and Liz (hey that rhymes ) are in the Crawford's house all sitting on the couch and the twangy "Back in the Saddle Again" (I think that was the song) was playing and they're all just twidling their thumbs... Too funny.
And I loved the smile on Max's face when he was walking past Walt and into the house...did you notice how Walt said, "You must be the man in charge"??? (*hint, hint*) Nice to see Jason (and Max) smile though.
I liked the couch scene but the part that I like was when Liz and Max noticed how close they were sitting to eachother... Hey did anyone notice the way Tess was looking at the picture of CWW? I thought it was a bit spooky... her look..
Now.. Just remember the tension last season with Max and Liz... well here we go again.. ONLY this time its MUCH MUCH MUCH more intense!!
I do like the theory with the divide and conquer thing.. That sounds good.. Hey lets go with that... I would hate to think that Izzy would let a MAN get between her and her brother.. A MAN of all things!! Now if he was as handsome and charming and wonderful as her brother... welllll maybe.. BUT no one is like Max.. There will never be another him!
Well must run and do math and english.. YIIIPPPEEE...
Take care all...
Just remember ladies.. Saint Max.. he is protected!!

Re: Harvest
I was just starting to warm up to Tess and think maybe she is just misunderstood. Well, that was until she was looking at the picture of the CW and asking all those questions like she was her mother or something. Found that very strange. So now what is Miss Tess up to. She has Max where she wants him, now what is she doing?

Re: Harvest
It was weird. It was creepy. It made me uncomfortable. I'm not sure I liked it. I need to watch it again.
Anyhoo, here are some random thoughts:
*I loved the tone of voice Max used with Liz in the jeep. He's not fooled - and I'm so glad that the writers haven't forgotten that he's not stupid. I also liked that he let Tess put her head on his shoulder, but he was sitting pretty rigid back there - he wasn't returning the sentiment (in other words, I think he was tolerating her).
*The scene between M&L in the street was heartbreaking. Mostly because you have a hard time imagining Max calling Liz a liar (which in a twisted way she is) and raising his voice to her. Fear not, my little dreamers - I think the writers are going to throw this stuff at us just to make the reconciliation all that much sweeter!
*Had to laugh at the scene where Whittaker's "father" was arguing directions with Max - it reminded me of every family trip we took to visit my grandparents!
*I've tried really hard to not say this out here on this board because everyone here is very positive, but I think I've lost control. I apologize to anyone I may offend. I. Hate. Tess. Could some writer out there please give her one (I'm only asking for ONE) redeeming quality so I don't seeth every time I see her??? Whew, okay, I'm better. Vicki, I agree with you - I had started to sympathize with her in Ask Not, but she hasn't turned around the way I wished she had.
*On the other hand, I like Courtney. Figures.
*Isabel's good at harboring those secrets, isn't she? I think it might all be a plot on the skins' behalf to trap her into betraying Max.
*A rebellion, huh? So, was Max a jerk in his prior life?
*So, they took a 400 mile road trip (8 hours one way) and didn't take a change of clothes?

Re: Harvest
I even liked the intro (previously on Roswell...) they brought you up to speed taking scenes from each of the new episodes this season.
Ok, I didn't like Courtney but I loved her line "50 yrs later and I'm still a babe, Imagine what your going to look like" It was hilarious!!
Max confronting Liz was awesome, not typical of a guy but is Max your typical guy? I think not!
Maria is a little firecracker with her one liners and I liked her hair up!! I honestly wonder how much the producers look at the boards, because some of the remarks made about hair, clothes, etc are like they know what the public thinks and are making fun of the script to keep it light...I just get that feeling
Re: Harvest
My all time favorite line of the show that gives me hope was when they replayed the Congresswoman's words "History always repeats itself" and then they cut back to Liz and Max. That does give me hope
Re: Harvest
I liked this episode too. I loved all the Michael and Maria scenes, Maria had wonderful one-liners, the one about Mulder and Scully cracked me up (I'm an X-Files fan too ). I liked learning more about the skins, and the theory about them trying to divide and conquer is a good one. They may not feel threatened by the Royal Four, but it would do them no good to have them all together, so breaking them apart would make them weaker. And this may have happened in Future Max's timeline, even though he said making Tess feel like she wasn't part of the group led to the whole downfall thing.
I have faith that Max and Liz will get back together. As usual, the writers are toying with our emotions. Max is so devastated by Liz's betrayl, and yet he's still trying to protect her because he still loves her, of course. And even though I still don't care for Tess, Max's attitude towards her is so casual, he really does just kind of puts up with her. I really don't see her as a threat, not that I ever did!
Re: Harvest
Vicki - Wow, how odd to hear someone (other than me) give somewhat of a compliment to Tess. I didn't really think much of it when when Tess was looking at Whitaker's picture, but you and IMM have got me thinking. Hmmm, yes, perhaps a bit of foreshadowing there. Scares the hell out of me. I wonder though, with the show not having the same writer for each episode (looks like they've got a loose rotation of 7 different people, including Jason Katims), just how they keep the story in line with things one writer has foreshadowed or hinted at when that writer might only write every 5th or 6th ep? Do they flesh out each show in a meeting of all the writers? Does Katims basically put all the facts and the occurences of a particular eppy down on paper and have that show's writer(s) fill in the dialog around the skeleton he has given them? He's the big producer so that may be how it happens. If Roswell goes to Season 3, I'm moving to LA and getting a job on the writing team to see how they do it (look out Dreamgirls - with me on the crew the show will be renamed "Tess and Max." Season 3 Premiere eppy: 'Liz's Funeral' NO! Kidding, kidding, kidding...).
IMM - Yeah, why did Max stink as a leader? Maybe because he was as indecisive as he is now. Maybe he was as distracted by Tess then as he is by Liz now. Maybe Michael gave him as much crap then as he does now. Maybe something Vilandra did lead to the revolution. I don't know about that last one, though, I agree with 'roswelfax' (welcome to the board by the way, just take it easy on ME. These spoiler-fed ladies have been ripping me up with insinuations that something happens to my darling Tess in a future episode... ) that it may just be a Skin plot to divide and conquer, knowing they're not as strong alone. I think the "Vilandra Project" was designed to go after Isabel, who they thought was the most likely to crack under pressure and give up the Granolith, or Granilith, or however the hell you spell it. Then again, if she did betray the rest in the past, they would go after her first, as that would historically make her the easiest to crack. As for this Skin she supposedly betrayed the rest for, hmmm, more to come, I'm sure.
I was always under the assumption that The Royal Four's race (we don't have a name for them, do we?) and The Skins (we don't know the name of their race, either, do we? They're only 'The Skins' here on Earth) lived on seperate planets. This episode said they were on the same globe. It intrigues me to no end. Wonder if we'll ever get a BIG BUDGET sci-fi blowout where they travel (using that G thing) home. Maybe a SUMMER MOVIE!! (and I don't mean the funny one on the spoiler board) (are you listening Mr. Katims?!?) They'll probably just leave it to our overactive imaginations.
MM - Yes, the reconcilliation will be all that much sweeter. That's what those silly writers are up to. I'm sure of it. Don't hate Tess. She likes you. Big road trip, no change of clothes? Seems like what they always do. "Because its hard to run with your pants around your ankles?" Maria just KILLS me!! Love to see that Courtney can match Maria for zings, though. Keeps it funny and interesting.
Well, George W. Bush won tonight, so I have to go start packing my bags...
Re: Harvest
WOW BRIAN... Where do I start.. First off.. as of this morning.. no one won!!! Still up in the air.. figures.. That is about Bush and Gore...
thats out of the way...
Now.. IF... We have Courtney after Michael.. to weaken him or change his loyalty towards Max... Valandra project for IZZY.. hmmmm I wonder who could be coming after Max... (me me me me!! ) Well that is just a thought... There will be another character introduced soon.. I won't say who.. but I will say that he/she WILL answer some questions... So you see its not a spoiler.. its really just common knowledge. But I will still let Brian be "spoiler" free... That little brat Nick.. was going to take Izzy to the LEADER.. So we know he is there... Boy this is getting to confusing. To many characters... well we know ONE is going.. WOOHOO.. oh let me contain my excitement.. (that was for you Brian, I'm sorry I said I would stop.. but your dig about being a writer..lets call it even)!!!
Well, for me I think this was a good eppy.. It showed suspense, humor, heartbreak, excitement.. (Could do without the Tess hanging all over Max.. putting her hand on his shoulder at school, then resting her head on his shoulder.. But thank God he was not "into" it and just was like a friendship thing). What more could we ask for... (MAX AND LIZ TOGETHER.... is that to much??)
IMM... Ya know.. Mean People Suck!!!!

Re: Harvest
Ok I re-watched Harvest last night and have some more thoughts (based solely on what's been shown in previous episodes).
I think a lot of us have assumed that the skins are a different race from nasedo and the pod squad but that might not be the case:
1. Nasedo told Michael "Biology lesson later". Too bad he never got around to it, what with impersonating Pierce and sleeping with Whitaker but he did manage to tell them that the Royal Four are hydrids, human DNA mixed with alien DNA. So we know that the Royal Four are different in that respect from the other aliens but there is probably only one alien race. Consider that when Nasedo died he turned to dust (similar to Whitaker in "Surprise" and the husks in "Harvest") He might have had a different husk that allowed him to shapeshift but still be the same race as the skins and the alien race that the Royal Four were originally.
2. Nicolas mentioned that Isabel in her past incarnation as Vilandra used to give him the eye now and again. Max was the king and Isabel was his sister so they are the same species but it seems unlikely that the king would be a different species than his subjects. From everything that has been said it seems more likely that the factions are divided by political differences rather than racial ones.
More on the "divide and conquer issue" (I really don't want to believe that any of the Royal Four would ever knowingly betray each other, even in a past life). Kivar is already sitting on Max's throne (I think it's interesting that the skins still refer to it as Max's throne and that they refer to Max as the once and future king) We know that the granolith is a huge power source and that acquiring it seems to be the skins top priority. With that in mind...
1. Why would Max and Isabel's mother send the Royal Four to Earth together if one of them had been a traitor? She sent the king and his bride, the king's sister and her intended (who also happened to be the second in command). If one of them betrayed the king in a previous incarnation or led to his downfall, why send them together as the last hope of a planet torn apart by civil war?
2. If Nicolas's intent was to reunite Isabel with the man for whom she betrayed a kingdom why knock her out, then allow her to regain consciousness and explore the product of 20 years of work? He seemed more interested in the location of the granolith than reuniting her with the man currently on max's throne.
3. Why is Courtney's husk being grown in Copper Summit? Assuming any of what the skins have told the royal four is true there are still contradictions in their stories. Courtney told them that she is part of a rebel faction that wants to follow Michael and if they went to Copper Summit they would find no "Michael worshippers". The "rebel" Michael worshipping faction believed that Michael could have prevented the civil war by usurping Max. That means prior to 1947 when the Royal Four had already been killed and sent to Earth and definitely prior to 1950 when the skins came looking for the Royal Four and the Granolith. They spent 30 years doing whatever and 20 growing the spore husks. Whether Courtney was part of a rebel faction before they came to Earth or after they would not have grown her husk with the others. Instead I think she picked up on the current dissension between Max and Michael and is trying to exploit that to her advantage to determine the location of the granolith.
I'm done for now. If I think of anything else I will be sure to post it. BTW I think this is one of the friendliest forums for Roswell.

Re: Harvest
More thoughts on Harvest.
The Royal Four were sent to Earth and the skins followed. Presumably that means they came voluntarily. If Earth's atmosphere is corrosive and harmful to them why not go back to their home planet?
