Speculation and Spoilers for Season 3
Well, I've finally come to terms that Season 2 has been fubared, an expression we always use in the computer field, by both the WB and Katims. Would the show moving to another network show who's more responsible for the mess created. It'll take miracles to repair but not impossible.
Sorry for setting a dark gloom over this thread. What's done's been done, so let's speculate on what's going to happen to the characters and the assumed baby next season. Would there be more cheesy sci-fi now that the show's been moved to a sci-fi network?
I've also read that EDR is still going to be around next season. Well, whoopty-friggin-doo! I better stop now before I'd have to ban myself!
Though, I'm sure all our male members are thrilled with the news...

Re: Speculation and Spoilers for Season 3
Hey Maria!
Well I agree with you that season 2 was a major disappointment. The fans did not see what they wanted and Katims didn't keep his end of the bargain either.
I thought the Tesstiny situation should have ended a long time ago. It would've been fine with me if she had gone poof!
Looking ahead to season 3, I'm hoping they'll explain away the baby nonsense. Or maybe Tess shows up in Antar and Kivar is pissed because she and the baby only appeared not the other podsters. After she has the baby, he kills her. Or she lied about being pregnant, to save herself, Kivar finds out the truth and that's the end of Tess! These are the 2 most popular specs floating around by the fans, about how to off Tess!
I'm hoping there isn't a love triangle between Max, Liz, and Sean...please no more love triangles! That has become way to cliched! I'd like to see Liz explore what powers she may have, also Kyle too.
Jim and Amy getting married would be great, and Kyle and Maria being siblings would be such fun to see.
I think Isabel should be developed as a stronger character. I liked her attitude in season 1, I'd like to see that again.
And Max...I'd like to see him lighten up, but how can he if he has a son to save? Oh brother. Please get rid of that story line! He belongs with Liz, but they have some long talks before I can see them being happy as a couple again.
The only couple that seems to be doing well is Michael and Maria. Who would've ever thought?
I'll be back with more ideas when I come up with them!

I was over on the FF spoiler board, trying to hunt down some new spoilers, and I found this out. Miss Roswell posted that there will be a new character, a twenty something lawyer who will be joining the law firm of Iz and Max's father. His name is Jesse and he will supposedly be the love interest of Isabel. This may or may not be true. I have a wait and see kind of attitude myself. But since I just read an article that the Roswell staff have gone back to work, it just makes you wonder! He hasn't been cast as of yet, so I guess we shall see!
Re: new spoiler
Just read this on aint-it-cool-news.com, Hercules has the latest scoop on the new character Jesse.

ROSWELL 3.X Spoilage!!
I am – Hercules!!
Alex Whitman’s body is barely cool, but Coax’s best “Roswell” spy tells us Isabel Evans is already spending the summer dating “Jesse,” a new lawyer at her dad’s law firm.
It won’t last. Despite Jesse’s chumminess with the older Evanses, Iz dumps the young attorney and asks him never to call again. When “Roswell” debuts on UPN Oct. 16, we will learn that her ex-flame is actually the evil alien Kivar!
In other “Roswell” news, Jonathan Frakes will be back directing the first UPN episode and Melinda Metz, who wrote the original “Roswell High” young adult novels (in which Max is blonde and Liz’s last name is Ortecho), has joined the show’s writing staff!
Re: new spoiler
Yep, I heard that too. Since I was in Germany, though, I didn't get to report it until I got back last night and everyone had already heard about it. :
I also heard that EdR won't be coming back.

Isabel needs to wear a sign on her saying:
MEN! BEWARE IF YOU WANT TO DATE ME! YOU WILL BE DEAD SOON OR POSSESED BY AN EVIL ALIEN!
Poor girl, she is just doomed!

Me? Spoiler free? The very idea is humorous. It could never be.

Re: new spoiler
Here are a few things I would really like to see:
1. Get ride of the Baby story line! I really hate that.
2. Alex comes back, but to Isabel only in dreams.
3. I would really like to see an episode where Maria is the main focus.
4. I would love to see Kyle and Liz gain powers, but weak ones. So they can do little thing and help out.
5. I would like to see some religion involved. Like we saw in the Christmas eppy. I think it would be cool to see how religion would tie in with all of this!
6. I would like them to explain more about the book, the one Tess first had! You know?
7. I would like to see more fun episodes like VLV. I would like them to do a Halloween Ep. with a Haunted house!
Re: new spoiler
Still no new spoilers? Well maybe there will be some when the crew starts shooting July 30th. I will check back...
hey, I'm also from LV but not a CM...

Re: new spoiler
I was thinking that season 2 was pretty bad, but it wasn't THAT bad. I was trying to watch the reruns of season two, and I just can't watch the episodes again for some reason. I guess it just wasn't as enjoyable for me.
Frakes says he wants it to be like the end of season one, but I think the middle of season one would be a better model to follow. 285 south is still my favorite next to the pilot.
Re: outline of spoilers
Just found this at aint-it-cool-news.com, sounds like this is more of a rough draft of the first 3 episodes. It remains to be seen be aint-it-cool-news has been a reliable website for spoilers so far.

Roswell 3.0 FAQ
You have “Roswell” spoilers already?
Of a kind. Everything in this post is based on early treatments of the third season’s first few episodes. Much could
change by the time the episodes air. But then again, much could remain intact …
Now that Tess’ villainy has been revealed, are Liz and Max back together?
Yes. If all goes according to plan, the first time we see Max and Liz on UPN, they’ll be in Utah, making out in the
back of a strange convertible -- and looking strangely like FutureMax and FutureLiz.
What are they doing in Utah?
Plotting the hold up of a Utah convenience store. Before Dido can warble a note, they’ll be pursued by the state
police, boxed in on all sides, thrown to the ground and handcuffed at gunpoint.
Then Max uses his powers to escape, right?
Ha! By the beginning of act one, Max and Liz are both in stir, and the angry and confused parents begin arriving.
Good lord! Why are Max and Liz robbing convenience stores?
It’s all part of Max’s plan to get back to his homeworld and rescue his son. It’s all explained in an elaborate series
of flashbacks.
How do the elder Parkers and Evanses react?
Badly. They didn’t even know Max and Liz were in Utah. Bad blood begins to develop between the two families
almost immediately.
Why?
Philip Evans talks the Parkers out of hiring their own lawyers (“Things will go better if we present a united front”).
But after the Parkers reluctantly agree, Liz is denied bail and forced to remain imprisoned. Max makes bail and goes
free. And the Parkers feel like they were sold down the river. They begin pressuring Liz to testify against Max.
Does Max break Liz out to continue their life of crime?
Max does offer to break Liz out, but Liz dissuades him; she suggests that they’re already in enough trouble. Instead,
the out-on-bail Max discovers something ugly about the convenience store that the U.S. government wants kept quiet,
and the Evanses leverage this to get the charges against Max and Liz dropped.
So things go back to normal, like after all those other times the kids found themselves in jail?
No. Once the kids are released, the Parkers forbid Max from ever seeing Liz again. Also, after Max and his dad
clash over Max’s inability to tell the full truth about the robbery, Max moves out of the Evans house.
Does Max leave Roswell?
No. Max stays in town but finds surprising new digs.
Does Max start bunking with Michael?
Nope.
Who’s said to be writing the season premiere?
Series creator Jason Katims.
I thought the first episode deals with Isabel having an affair with a lawyer from her dad’s firm!
It does. The junior lawyer, Jesse, gets to Utah even before Max’s parents, and there’s a third-act rendezvous in a
hotel room that makes plain to the audience their secret affair. But the Jesse-Isabel saga really takes center stage in
3.3.
Ah. What happens in 3.3?
Nutty Isabel invades Jesse’s dreams -- and come to believe he’s about to propose to her. Iz freaks out, now certain
that any man who loves her (like Alex and Grant) is doomed.
Are Rath, Lonnie, Ava, or Nicholas back?
No. At least not in the first three episodes.
What about Brody?
Nope.
Sean?
Nope.
Tess?
Nope.
Alex?
There are plans for ghosts in 3.3, to say nothing of a possible lycanthropy-free homage to “An American Werewolf
in London.”
Does Jesse propose to Isabel?
No. But they’re going to be engaged anyway.
Is Jesse possessed by Kivar?
No hints of this are revealed in the first three episodes.
Wait. You skipped 3.2.
The second UPN episode, likely to be scripted by Ron Moore, will center on Michael as he begins moonlighting as a
nightwatchman for a shadowy Roswell enterprise called Meta-Chem. Michael will make many friends among the other
slacky young nightwatchmen. (There’s at least one big laugh in the 3.2 treatment involving a popular soft drink.)
Do the Parkers lift the ban on the Liz-Max relationship?
No. In fact, at the end of 3.3, Jeff Parker threatens to send Liz to an East Coast boarding school if Max doesn’t stop
trying to see her in secret.
Will Jim be reinstated as sheriff?
No.
What’s up with Jim’s boy?
An unhappy Kyle becomes the breadwinner in the Valenti household while Jim decides to follow his bliss and put his
old band back together.
Do we know anything beyond the first three episodes?
Nothing is set, but much will likely center on Isabel’s impending nuptuals. We may see misbehavior at Jesse’s
bachelor party. Max and Michael may try to talk Iz out of the wedding. Kyle may fall for Isabel as he helps her prepare
for the big day. A journalist friend of Jesse’s may stumble upon Isabel’s true nature. At Isabel’s wedding and on her
honeymoon, she may encounter a stranger who is possessed by Vilandra’s ex-lover Kivar.
Anything not involving Isabel’s new romance?
Michael may discover a clone of Max at Meta-Chem. Tess may possess Liz. Max may suspect Tess never made it
home. Maria, trying to pursue her own music career against her mom’s wishes, may join Michael in a search of Maria’s
dad. Jim Valenti may stumble upon his ex-wife while pursuing a career as a private detective. Kyle, with Isabel’s help,
may create an extraordinary science project.
Should we take all this with a big ol’ heap of salt?
Doctors continue to advise against excessive sodium intake.

Re: outline of spoilers
I am sorry Marice did you say The Twilight Zone or Roswell? Very STRANGE!
Oh No! Joe close you eyes, you never saw me on this thread. I am in big trouble now, I was promising to be spoiler free. OOPS! I have fallen of that wagon already and they haven't even filmed a scene. Well, except for those exterior shots they filmed of the Crashdwon in Covina the other day. No actors, just the building.
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - While most producers are keeping mum on what to expect this upcoming season, one is happy to give fans a taste of what's coming up. "Roswell" executive producer Jason Katims met with reporters Monday during the annual Television Critics Association press tour, and laid out his plans for what's going to happen in the series' first episode on UPN after moving from The WB. The gist of it? The independent kids are going to find out they're are still kids, after all.
"In the first episode, Max (Jason Behr) and Liz (Sheri Appleby) get arrested," Katims says, "and suddenly they're in real trouble, and their parents are called in.... They start to have questions about what their kids are involved in, and it's not so funny anymore."
"By the end of that episode, Liz is forbidden by her parents to ever see Max.... What we are sort of building by starting off that way is playing stories about these kids in context of their parents -- these kids starting to realize that their parents are human beings and are people and that what they do affects them."
According to Katims, all the characters can look forward to some changes this year.
"I think of it being a coming-of-age for a lot of the characters in the show," he says. "A lot of what we want to do this year is expand the canvas of the show and each of the characters are sort of going in different directions."
Isabel, played by Katherine Heigl, will not be going to college as was previously hinted, and will instead find a new love interest, who is being cast. And not only will she fall in love, she may get hitched.
"She's going to stay at a community college, largely maybe because of this relationship that she's formed over the summer," Katims says. "Isabel gets into a serious relationship and falls into a precipitous marriage."
Michael (Brendan Fehr), realizes school may not be for him and does something new.
"Michael realizes that he has spend no time investing himself in life on earth," Katims explains, "so (he) basically wants to build a life for himself and winds up getting a job."
Another "Roswell" resident, Maria (Majandra Delfino) finds a career in doing something other than being a waitress.
"Maria's character begins to pursue her musical career and that becomes a real thing."
But what fans want to know is simple: Will Max and Liz get back together? Well, sort of.
"Max goes on a quest to find his child and Liz goes along with him," he says, "and that quest will take him out of Roswell onto the road."
The main thing Katims wants to see happen this year is change -- and maybe the introduction of some new aliens.
"I think that we will definitely play with the idea of other aliens out there, but this year we want to do that in a very specific way," he explains. "We're going to be very selective with that and have them play roles on a more ongoing basis that will stay sort of consistent throughout the season."
For Appleby, all this change is great, though she does have one request.
"I would love to see her not cry in a whole episode," she says. "Personally, I'm ready for her to smile and run around and be a fun kid, so hopefully this year will lend to that."
