firebombs

Funny, can't seem to find 1841 online, maybe just my crap Googling skills, or maybe in this user pays society you just have to shell out for the standard.

According to the blurb that came in the email - meets SCCA and NASA regs. But probably a moot point anyhow if it doesn't have the magic AS or FIA sticker.

The refilling idea does strike me as a bit unusual, unscrew the neck and pour the stuff in???

Re: firebombs
Aqueous Fire Fighting Foam actually, and yeah, they can be refilled from just pouring the liquid in and pressurising. Apparently.

Firebomb Group Buy
You'll have to excuse my frustration here but I feel I have to let off some steam over how this Group Buy has been handled >:

This offer was posted on the 12th July 2005, and according to Neil, closed on the 30th September. I sent my deposit as requested and it is now almost February, with the first round not that far away (especially for me building a new car :D )

Apart from two not-too-helpful emails from Meridian (initated by me) there has been no word from them on what is happening with this. Both times I was told the units would be arriving soon but nothing has eventuated.

Whilst I'm sure they will arrive, I think it should have been pointed out from the beginning that these units would be imported from the UK (I figure) by sea (or overland by camel train :rolleyes ).

A very poor effort I think and as a PR exercise it has backfired. If there are delays surely someone at Meridian could have sent out an email with an explanation, or at least kept those on the Group Buy informed. To hear nothing all this time is not acceptable business practice IMHO.

Am I being too harsh here?

I see RallyNuts sell these for $402 plus shipping to Australia. I wonder what it would cost to Air Freight one over?

PS. No reflection on Neil here - he unfortunately was only the middleman in this.

I dont know about that part...but I ordered a new harness from these guys and it arrived @ 6 days. Good price, good timing. I ordered as normal freight.... nothing special.

Re: Firebomb group buy
I have just stumbled across this forum and was shocked to read the difficulties that arose during this group purchase of fire extinguishers.

I personally would like to apologise for the poor service with regard to this matter. We had problems with the importer getting the product, this is no reason for us to have extended that poor service to you our customer.

Please feel free to contact me directly regarding this matter and I will do everything in my power to ensure that we correct this matter for you. damon@mmsport.com.au

We are working very hard to become your #1 choice in motorsport equipment suppliers, so issues like this are very upsetting and I can assure you that we will certainly rectify the problem internally.

Damon Hill :o
