Re: EC
I am all for new cars and not trying to be a wet blanket........but,
Rule 4.3(i) a piston engine may be replaced with a rotary in the following vehicles, Mazda 12oo coupe, Capella, 808, 929(pre78) 121 (rwd).

Anyone fell free to correct me if i am wrong, i just wouldnt want to see someone rock up with a car and be told it is not legal.

Re: EC
Harmo, whats the difference between a 12 and 1300? I dont imagine it would be much?

Same same, Id hate to see someone scared away. Would it be a possable rebadge as an R100, or some similar?

Re: Mazda 1300.....
This is an early 1300 (like mine known as an STB 1300)

This is a later model known as a FA3TS 1300

And this is a 1200...

As you can see.... other minor changes (dash and grill are the most obvious)

Basically the piston model R100 (oh... with 4 doors too...)

Re: EC
Here is a link to the r100 coupe. The 1200 coupe was the same body, but with a piston engine. A diffent car to the 1300 sedan.

Coupes
1200 Coupe/1300 Coupe and R100 are all as per that last pic. The others are 2 door sedans (which would normally be called a coupe but as you can see, they are a lot different to the actual "Coupe" shape.

No pics of the car yet (too much dust :D ) but it is just basically like that white R100 shown (plus cage, etc.). I'll take a couple and post them up when I figure out how to do it :o

New Cars
Thanks rdmdog. The car is built on a tight budget so I will be happy just to get out there (finally). My driving has been limited to a bit of karting and a few years of FSAE so it will take me a while to get up to speed. I suppose that's enough excuses now :D

If only I can get that leading coil to fire :(

New driver old car....
I'm pleased to say that my brother Mark will be taking over the Gem from (hopefully) Rd.2 on. The tidying up and general improvements we have done will see the car much better presented and Mark will be a good addition to the U2ltr class.

I hope to also be in Rd.2 or 3 pending on what I end up with.
