Damn, if that doesn't make you want to go to Tassie for the Nationals, nothing will! Looks like a great track

A video like that is the Best Marketing you can have!

Rolling hills, blind corners, Magic

I was actually in Tassie on Holiday a couple of Months ago and I drove by Baskerville to have a look at the land. (My wife thinks I am crazy)

Re: VIDEO Baskerville Racway 2006 Nationals
The track is nothing short of fantastic - but dont expect to get a rest!!!

Leigh Forrests record is about three and half seconds a lap faster than the video!!

Get organised early, put the date in your calender and come and enjoy a fantastic track.

The track suits Rx7s, V8s, and turbos as it has a bit of everything - so there are NO EXCUSES like 'oh it wouldnt suit my car'.

Testament to that is a great dice between roger hurd in the torana V8 and ken douglas (RX7) at the last nationals there, and the current lap record by Leigh in a turbo.

Like I said - NO EXCUSES!!!!

Scoot,

Do you know if they are organising package deals or deals for the trip across the strait? I know that Rally Tas organises a special price on certain days (truck day is Wednesday I think) before the event.

It is probably a bit early, but I have referred to the organising club website under the calender section. I am sure that with sufficient numbers they will be able to organise something for freighting of cars etc.

The website is www.trdc.net.au.

Any updates I am sure will go on there and Matt (RX3 47) or myself will give updates when we know of them.

cheers

Scott

First thing i said when i heard the Nationals were to be in Tassie was "no way, too far to go !!" but as mentioned above, damn that looks like a great marketing tool !! ;)

Looks like an enjoyable track, you guys might get a lot better roll up if you send that out as an mpeg with the entry forms !!

just go down the page a bit and below where it gives you the membership benefits, click on where it says "free". type in the characters you see then save the file.

Looks like an awesome track. Added incentive to get this beast built :p

Tassie
I know this is early, but it might help someone get to Tassie.
I am seriously considering going to the nationals as a spectator. I will leave on the monday before and have a family holiday in Tassie and just happen to be there the same time as the nationals.
I will be taking my falcon which has a towbar, so if anyone needs some extra stuff taken over, or even their racecar i might be able to take it for you. Some money for petrol would be good:D .
So keep this in mind and if anyone is interested jus let me know.

Yay! I got the video to work. :D

Looks like a very busy track. I hope you get scores of cars from all over the mainland.

Nationals
I would wait to see what the Tassie guys come up with for transport packages
Rumour is from Vic car and tralier cost will be about $100 more than tow money, so a pretty good deal, I am sure that this will change from state to state.

Track is about 30 km from Hobart Centre, on the other side of the river from the Launceston Road. There are not really any places to stay with 10 minutes, but thare are quite a few around 20 minutes away.

Big News from Vic

The Committee has decided to make this part of our club championship for 2006! The Club championship is made up of the 6 state rounds plus one "extra", and you drop your lowest round... so that should entice a few Victorians over

Re: Nationals
Hi guys,

I am sure they will put together a package of some sort.

Notso is correct - 15 minutes from the track will see you near plenty of accomodation.

Phil, RX7's do well at Baskerville, and if you like Oran Park you will like Baskerville. Would love to see some NSW guys come down.

Great news from Vic - the more the merrier!!!!!!

cheers

Scott

I am definately going now...still only to spectate. I have rented our house out to DJR for the Bathurst race week, so that has paid for our family holiday to tasmania. So if anyone is needing a trailer or something taken down let me know.

Whereabouts is Baskerville? 8o

For that matter, where is Symmons Plains. My uncle is moving to Branxholm, i wonder if it's close to either track?
