Still haven't fixed the video yet..will get around to it soon.
Well I can spill my guts now... I have been off work for 4 months now, having a break (by choice) and I have just recently got a new Job. It is with Care Flight QLD (the Helicoptor Rescue people)...now before you all think that I'm off to QLD to live...they won the contract to conduct HUET (helicopter underwater escape training) at HMAS Albatross near Nowra NSW.
On the first day of employment they sent me to Townsville QLD (last Tue) to do some specialist HUET training. I got back home Sat evening. The job pays about $15K more than my old job as a Mechanic so I am really rapt. There is very little (if any) weekend work so it shouldn't effect my motor racing at all.
The type of work involved is basically what I used to do in the military for 20 years... hahaha...no more messy mechanic type jobs for me. So... I now work for a company called Careflight Safety Services In Nowra NSW.

Quote:They actually have special training for that ...... ???
Yes they do....imagine your in a Helo and it crashes into the water...most helo's will roll upside down...
picture this....
your under water....your vision is impaired (looking underwater)....you are now upside down....there are thousands of bubbles everywhere...it maybe at night time ? ... you have to find an exit, maybe open an emergency exit, undo your seatbelt, then pull yourself clear (without tangling yourself) and swim to surface...and hopefully there isnt fuel burning on the surface...see why we need this type of training
of course when a/c crash.... its not a gentle affair.....how long can you hold your breath???

To be honest Pete, this might be an opportunity for some extra cirricular activities for the guys during the off season.
Any chance of checking out what arrangements could be made, followed of course by a pubcrawl along the south coast!!
Now no-one will be made to drink, we will need a bus driver!!
