oops, i didn't see my earlier post when i skimmed this thread again and i rewrote it thinking that it was gone... so if you read it, ignore this... sorry
1) why is everyone always saying "i got robbed" "you got robbed" "he got robbed." I watched the SNC vs. IM battle and it was close. SNC had better style and control and IM had more difficulty... i'd give to SNC by a little, but if it had gone the other way, i wouldn't say SNC 'got robbed.' you only get robbed when you totally smoke the other crew and still lose... in all the time i've been watching jams, i've seen less than ten battles where i actually felt someone "got robbed"
2) about crashing. i used to hardly notice crashes, i would just watch for the illest or most difficult thing in the run. but the longer i've been watching the more it really really bugs me to see someone crash... this is not a criticism, everyone crashes sometimes... i crash a lot... but like mantis said in a different post, you shouldn't be trying moves you don't have perfect (unless maybe you think you're going to lose and its worth the risk, which is usually the case with me...)
think about it this way, breaking is art and art is like magic, it's an illusion that draws you in and makes a statement. when you're watching a film, you get caught up in the characters and the scene and you think its real, that's the magic, if the projector starts skipping for a minute in the middle of the movie... even if its the best movie you've ever seen, you suddenly remember you're in a movie theatre and maybe you think about some errand you have to run on the way home and the magic is lost... even if the ending turns out to be amazing, you don't believe in it anymore...
the same thing with breaking... during a run, the best breakers become the music, you don't see them hesitate, or think, or catch on a thread, and for a minute you think they are an embodiment of the song, you think that physics doesn't apply to them...
if you crash you completely lose that magic moment, everyone remembers your a normal guy, with a normal body that practices really hard, not some perfect being from the land of music...
maybe that souds weird, but i really think its true.
so no, its not gymnastics in that your toes don't have to be pointed, but you do have to be perfect in your relation to the music... not necessarily being on beat at all times, but you should be paralleling the emotions of the song, with power, with footwork, whatever, but the song has to be the key element to have a really good run...
and i'm not saying the older generation always does this and the younger generation doesn't. everybody screws up sometimes, i'm just saying i think this is why people who really love this as an art are so hard on crashing...

Na73 and seizone. Next time you see me, please come up to me, im not sure who you guys are but i want to talk to you in person.
To all the new generation, Im sorry that you dont understand the point system yet. But remember that shebang wasnt using my system. I WASNT EVEN THERE! And if you want to complain about why you lost when using my system, take a look at judging and score sheets. If you were robbed for real, then the score sheets wont lie.
I think the problem lies in this fact that alot of the new generation doesnt understand the difference between what is style, what is having style, and what is doing style. Ill manners was doing the bare minimum of actual bboy style, and half a battle is style. So who ever has better style wins basically half the battle. And the best dancing style is the ORIGINAL bboy way from NY (not saying that i can even do it well). SO if you cant do it nice in your own way, and you dont do it the traditional way, then most likely your style doesnt even look good.
Anyway, ive been using the system in places with big battles in places like korea, china, mexico, UK and the only thing the system can offer is a complete record of what really went down in a battle and to see if the judges are really doing their job or not. The system was created so that people will all get a fair run at winning if they can be good (NOT AVERAGE OR DECENT) at ALL THE CATEGORIES. And there are more than just the dynamics category. So to be good at them, first you have to understand what it means to have 1>good FOUNDATION AND DANCING. 2> to have good creativity and style. 3> Dynamics which alot of younger kids only like. 4> good execution, and that means the entire run and doing it smoothly, 5>to have a good bboy BATTLE STRATEGY. Just because you have 3 good moves doesnt mean your good. What if your in a raw circle battle that last 2 hours. Once you run out of moves, your gonna be getting out STYLED.
I think these 5 categories are obvious qualities that a bboy SHOULD POSSES. and no excuses like (well i danced but not good so that should count, or i did 2 ugly sixsteps so that means i did foundation, OR i crashed twice but i did hit one move so i should get perfect on execution) Do it well or dont do it all. thats why you dont see me doing power cuz i dont do it well. i can do it... but not as well as others. being well rounded doesnt mean being able to do everything but not doing it well... you would call that "being ROUNDED" not "Well Rounded". To be well rounded, you have to do EVERYTHING WELL or GOOD.
Anyway, im gonna stop defending my system now, cuz you guys are arguing about losing to another system that you THOUGHT is mine. I understand that you would be upset for losing and not knowing why you lost (which is why i created my system) but it didnt mean you had to disrespect me.

yo dyzee , they actually said that they were using your system in the jam. Jen ROck stated it, as they were giving out prize packs.. b4 they started the bonnie and clydes...
so maybe ppl shudn't use ur judgin system when u aint dere .. u know just incase they "@#%$ it up" or anyone wants to diss it..
