Goin' It Alone
Taylor sighed, staring down at her mother's D-Terminal. Madi blinked, trying to look at it, but, from thier height differences, she had a hard time doing so.
"Taylor... Taylor, could you... Tay-"
"Oh, sure."
Taylor lowered her arms so Madi could see the primitive map.
"Not too shabby for back then... Let's go... this way," she said, "I think that's where Izzy's computer said to go..."
Taylor smiled.
"Probably..."
They got along quite well because their mothers would talk to each other every day of the week, meeting and having tea together, so Taylor and Madi were quite close.
(If anyone wants to join in from the other one, that's fine.)
J.D. was following the two with Tokomon. Silently walking. Tokomon spoke quitly "Your worried about Madi arnt you?" J.D. stayed silent.

Isabel had to run to catch up to the group of departing kids but finally she made it, Dan just behind her. The young computer whiz took a deep breath then glanced over at the group.
"Hi, I think my dad's right and not her and we'd like to come along but if you don't want us to we'll understand," Isabel said quickly. Motimon squirmed in her arms, he had been held rather tightly throughout the run over here and was now rather uncomfortable.
Dan, silent as usual, said nothing and instead simply waited for Taylor's reaction. Her and Madi seemed to be the unofficial leaders, something he and Isabel were both happy with since neither of them wanted to lead.

Valin just continued forwards noticing Izabeal. Hmmm it seems the division is larger than I thought. We will see all of use together once more later. I worry though of what the others will encounter. He just stayed the same monotone face.

"Hey...Yeah Izzy... you'd better be against that girl... you're the one who was pushed around... and I don't understand that... stand up for yourself... Can you be the navigator on this trip?"

Isabel smiled a little shyly. "Sure, I'll do the navigating," she said, pulling out her computer again and openning it up. "I wanted to go but I didn't think anyone would follow me and from what my Dad said it's dangerous to be alone in the digiworld."
"He's right as usual. My mom went off alone and ended up having to be saved by Izzy at some temple place," Dan cut in.
Isabel smiled, glad to at least now have Dan's support. "Alright we're heading in the right direction, I think we just have to keep going this way for awhile," she said more confidently as she looked at the screen carefully. "Let's go find us some water!"

J.D. looked at them and spoke solemly "Weakness comes before strength. All learn this. The strong in body are strong in soul. That is why Uncle came back. But as I my father and his friend Kari have displayed the weakest become the strongest." J.D. went silent same monotoned expression. He just continued walking to his original destination.
OOC: And there is my two sense. Well my attempt at philisophical reasoning.

Dan nodded a little to himself. It made sense really although he had a bit of wisdom himself. Ironic that he, son of the famously ditzy Mimi, would be a sensible kid.
"Strength in numbers," he mused and Isabel smiled over at him. "Makes sense to me," she said. Looking down at her screen again she looked over the route and made a slight change in direction. "According to my calculations if we change course a little we'll miss a desert storm," she explainned.

"Okay, point us out in the direction to go," Madi said. She loved playing leader for some reason. It was fun. Taylor, on the other hand, was staring at the D-Terminal.
"...Hmmm... there are other ways to go as well... but I guess you can't argue with a computer..."

"Well you could but it would be rather one sided, the computer rarely talks back," Isabel joked as she looked lovingly at the laptop her father had gotten her for her last birthday.
"Okay this way it is," she announced, pointing in the right direction and Isabel and Dan both followed as Madi led the way.

After a good hour of walking Isabel's tiny feet were aching and most of the party had begun to complain or silently think of complainning at the least.
Isabel had run ahead a little, even though she didn't like to play leader she did love the idea of exploring something new and seeing if her route was correct.
Isabel took one step farther and was about to turn back towards the others but found, strangely enough, that she couldn't turn. The sand she had run through was now up to her ankles, she was sinking.
Being as smart as she was it didn't take long before Isabel figured it out. "Stay back! There's quicksand!" she yelled back to the group but her words were rather muddled and Isabel wasn't sure if they had heard her. She felt the sand rising slowly to her mid-calf level and hoped desperately that someone would be able to get her out of there...
(OOC: Sorry about that but I thought we should move the story ahead a little. Hope that's alright with everyone and don't worry real action fun stuff involving digimon will start soon.)

J.D. looked out at her. He went forward in the quicksand a little reaching out towards Isabeal. He reach out and grabbed her hand pulling her our and walking out holding her. He monotonly said "You must be more careful."

Isabel smiled over at J.D. "Thanks, looks like I owe you my life," she said and her gratitude was visible in her face. The moment was interrupted though for a horrible sound came from just beneath the ground.
"What is that?" Dan asked as he came up beside Isabel and placed a hand gently on her shoulder. He didn't say it but he didn't have too. He was glad his friend was alright.
"I-I'm not sure. I mean I heard something but I thought it wasn't true," Isabel said, furiously searching through her computer's database as the sand beneath them began to wriggle.
"Um Izzy? I know what it is," Motimon said timidly. "Some of the older digimon used to talk about an evil digimon who lived below ground in sandpits. I'm not sure what they called him though."
Isabel's computer had finished it's search though and and she let out an "Ah ha!" Then came the realisation and the groan. "Um guys? I'm not sure if this is it but there's a champion level digimon named Sandmon who likes to prey on anyone who comes through his territory..." The computer genius trailed off but Dan finished her sentence.
"Let me guess, this is his territory," Dan said with a groan.
"Got it in one," Isabel replied but didn't have time for anything else. It was only a moment before the ground shook and a hideous digimon who looked like the mud-monsters her mother had made up to scare her rose through the sand.
"Digidestined, my favourite meal," Sandmon said in a growl and he sneered at them as best a digimon made out of sand could.
"Uh oh," Tanemon commented from atop Dan's head. That could have been the understatement of the century.
OOC: Please don't have your digimon digivolve without permission right off the bat, There won't be any Godplaying but your digimon will be digivolved when ready. Thank you!

Taylor blinked, then screamed when she saw the Sandmon. Madi took a step back, then stepped forward again.
"We shouldn't run, we should stand and fight!" she said firmly.

"Motimon are you up to it? I don't think Tsunomon can do this by himself," Isabel said, looking at the little pink digimon in her arms.
"I'll manage Izzy," he said.
"Are we running or making a stand then?" Dan asked the digidestined.

J.D. just smied when Izabeal thanked him then went back to his norma expression. The digimon that appeared to want to eat them was rising. J.D. said "You ready Tokomon." "Ready." He then shoots a pink bubble at the creature.

Tanemon, who had leaped down into Dan's arms, exchanged a look with him.
"Well I guess we're attacking," he said with a shrugg. Tanemon of course couldn't shrug and merely jumped down to the ground, trying to get enough strength to look upset and attack.
"Bubble Blow!" she cried and launched bubbles at Sandmon.
Motimon joined Tanemon in this but to no avail. Sandmon only laughed cruelly.
"Is that all you've got Digi-slime? I'll crush you!" he roared for the bubbles hadn't even hurt him.
"Uh oh," Dan said and Isabel began to have the feeling that she'd be hearing alot more of that expression before long.

Taylor blinked, looking around. Tsunomon smiled evily, bouncing down next to where Sandmon would be stepping next. The horn on his head would prove to pierce Sandmon's foot, or Sandmon's tail or whatever hits Tsunomon's horn. Madi sighed.
"Silly digimon..."
Poromon got off of Taylor's head and blew bubbles at Sandmon.
"TAKE THAT YOU OVERSIZED... err...."

Sandman didn't falter, he just stared smugly back at the digidestined and Isabel and Dan found themselves backing away. The problem was that in a desert there is no where to hide.
Sandmon advanced on all the digidestined but cried out in shock as a bright light blinded him. Isabel knew a fair bit about computers and had been trying to find out about the digivices so it was no accident that she looked down at her D-Gen at the right moment.
"Um guys?...I think that light's coming from our D-Gens!" Isabel said, holding her purple device in the palm of her hand.
"She's right," Dan confirmed as he saw the green light from his own device glowing brightly alongside the light of the other digivices.
"I feel strange, almost queasy," Tanemon commented, her attention momentarily drawn away from the battle.
"I think I know why," Motimon started and the light settled around him and the other digimon. As the purple light touched him he felt himself grow somehow stronger and felt himself changing.
Then, all of a sudden,
"Motimon digivolve to...TENTOMON!" He cried and a new digimon stood there, this one a bug and a rookie levelled digimon.
As the new digimon took in his power and the shocked glance of his partner he looked over at the other digimon and knew that they were next...
(Okay now you can digivolve your digimon to the rookie level if you like Sorry for the long wait! School has been keeping me away from the internet I'm afraid.)

"Wow," she said.
"Can I feel queasy now too?" Poromon asked.
"I'm the one feeling queasy..."
