(The Sandworms shatter when Jason hits them and the entrance...is clear. They walk inside and find the place as junky as ever. Fossil Roo is buuutt ugly.)

Zidane: Well, we're here. Now what?

Jason: Aargh!

(Jason suddenly staggers for a minute, as if he'd been assaulted by something.)

Dagger: What is it?

Jason: I can...hear it. He's...that way.

(He points deeper into Fossil Roo. They use the Gargent Lines to get closer to the source of whatever Jason i hearing. When they get to a certain junction point, the invisible sound leads them to a cave.)

Jason: In here...

(The cave is dark, but slightly illuminated by glowing stones. And then, they come to an end. The end has a rock shelf looming over it. And above it is a very strange sight. It appears to be a large glowing stone with eerie veins growing out of it.)

Dagger: What is that thing?

Voice: It is a tomb, a very special tomb.

(Dracan steps into view, atop the rock shelf. His eyes gleam with power and insanity.)

Dracan: Let me tell you a little story. A long time ago, on a world far away, there were mighty beings who would lord over many worlds with their power. They went from world to world, stirring up havoc wherever they went. These powerful creatures were called...The Guardians of Chaos.

Zidane: The Guardians... I've seen them before!

Dracan: Yes, in Memoria. That is just a world of shadows, though. The real ones were much more powerful.

Zidane: What a minute... You aren't going to try and control that power, are you? If so, then you're crazy!

Dracan: HA! Why should I try to control my own kind?

Exan: Your own kind? What's he talking about?

Dracan: I'll tell you. There were five Guardians besides Chaos himself. People thought their were only four, though. They thought that we only had Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water Guardians. And so, the Light Warriors only fought those four before heading for Chaos himself. However, none of them knew of the most important one of all... Power.

Zidane: Then you're-

Dracan: That's right, disciple of Garland, I am the Guardian of Power! My cohorts were lost, but not for long! I have the key to their salvation!

(Dracan holds up an artifact made of metal.)

Dracan: This is the Rune of Awakening. I have taken its power into my own so that I may resurrect my kind. With my magic and The Source, my quest will be fulfilled!

(Before anyone can ask what this Source is, Dracan shows them. He fires a tentacle of energy into and around Jason, forcing him to be pulled towards Dracan. He cannot escape Dracan's grasp. Then, Dracan begins draining Ultima energy from him at an astounding rate.)

Exan: Stop it! Now!

Dracan: Never. Armodullahan, destroy them all.

(Something drops to the ground in front of them. It's that automated killing-machine, the Armodullahan! As it attacks Zidane and the others, Dracna continues his energy drain. And in the midst of the shadows, something sinister laughs maniacally.)

Massacre The Darkgod SOLDIER First Class Posts: 62 (11/13/01 19:42)	A hard time... (Jason is not at the castle. He's in trouble! A local band of thugs had seen what he's really like and they think he's to blame for the destruction. Exan sees them fighting Jason in an alley. He isn't using his sword.) Exan: They might be too much for him without his sword! (It turns out that the 'thugs' are body-builders. Exan leaps in to give Jason a hand and in moments, the tough-guys are K.O.ed.) Jason: Thanks for the help. I was on my way to talk to Zidane when they jumped me. (Jason picks up his sword, which seems to spark briefly, and gets on his way. As they head for the castle, Exan asks Jason if he knows what's going on.) Jason: Not really. I was just sent here because it felt like something was going to happen. Voice: I know what is going on. Jason: Who said that?! Voice: Come to Fossil Roo and find out! (The voice does not speak up again. Jason is confused, but he was sure that it wasn't... him. Exan and Jason just exchange looks for a minute.) Jason: We'd better get some help first. Exan: And shop for some helpful items. Jason: We could get Zidane to join us. Exan: There's a Mog Shop in the castle. (So, they head off to the castle.)

Exan is silent for a moment. Exan id you see Freya in the castle? Jason: No. Exan: I'll guess she has headed back to Burmecia. Exan and Jason arrives at the castle. Danielle is now one-eighth her original size, only slightly larger than a moogle.) Garnet: I don't like it when people I've never heard of sneak into the castle. (Just then, Exan and Jason walk in. The irony here is ridiculous. Garnet knows about Exan, but nothing about the youth with the wings and tail.) Garnet: How is he, Exan? Exan: Just someone Zidane and I met lest night. He's okay. Oh look, a mini-merc! Danielle: I hate you. All I wanted was to see Zidane. Jason: What a coincidence. That's what we want. Garnet: Alright, alright... I'll take you to him. It's request night down at the castle today... (They all head for the back courtyard of the castle, where Zidane would hang out.) Danielle: Hey, could you change me back to normal now? Garnet: Oops! Sure. (Danielle returns to her normal size, with a warning that it could've been alot worse.)

(Zidane is currently in the middle of some exercise, which involves alot of quick and deadly swipes with his weapon at some launchable targets. Danielle suddenly stops as the rest of them move into the courtyard to speak with him.) Danielle: There is something here... (Taking a quick glance here and there, she draws her sword in preparation for a sneak-attack. But the attack comes from within! Danielle's mind suddenly reels as an unknown force strikes at it!) Quit trying to understand that which you cannot possibly grasp. You are messing with ultimate power! Danielle: Who...are...you? A force to be reckoned with. That is all you need ever know. (Whatever had attacked her chose that moment to leave. Danielle returned to normal in time to hear...) Zidane: Then we'll travel to Fossil Roo! (Danielle had missed the entire conversation. Zidane flashes a puzzled look at her, then speaks.) Zidane: What did you want, anyway?

So anyway, we now have Zidane, Exan, Jason, Garnet (Dagger), and now Danielle on this trip. IC> Zidane: Okay, s'no problem. A Burmecian who complains about the weather? That's kinda' strange... (With Danielle now joining, they take the Red Rose to the entrance of Fossil Roo. There was a monster at the entrance, an Abomination. Zidane steps forward to deal with it.) Zidane: You! Abomination! Monster: NO! I am not Abomination! I am the Kwisits Hadherach! (Zidane chops the creature in half before he can say anything more. Sadly, he was not alone. Two Sandworms pop up from the ground!) Jason: I thought I was on Gaia, not Arrakis! (Jason attacks one of the Sandworms at the ground level, slashing pieces out of it with his sword.)

A second later, he tosses Jason to the ground behind Armodullahan, which is now fighting with Zidane, Dagger, and Exan.) Dracan: The energy...the mighty Ultima energy! With this power, I will awaken the long dead Guardian! ARISE!!! (The cave shudders like a volcano as the green stone with veins forces its way from its ground-bound prison. And then, the green-glowing stone explodes! Inside is a robed skeletal form with a staff.) Dracan: Guardian of Earth, Lich... Lich: Who speaks my name? What are these insects before me? Hold on... I sense a great deal of power... Dracan! Is that you? Dracan: Yes, it is me. I took a human form so that I may do what I am doing, granting you new life. Or should I say unlife? Lich: With me, you can never tell. Come... Let us leave these creature to their fate. The machine will do the work for us. (Both Lich and Dracan disappear!)

Gilnor SeeD Posts: 129 (11/19/01 14:47)	Fight! Exan hit the machine with his lance. The Obelisk did not damage at all. Dagger was summoning an Eidolon. Zidane was protecting her. Exan called the wind and directed it to the creature. The wind didn't do any damge either and Exan cursed. "I hate fighting underground. I can't summon the full power of weather" Exan jumped to the wall and ran few steps with it( like in Matrix) and jumped behind the machine. There he used the only Dragoon technique he knew: The Lancer. He rushed to the machine and hit it bad. The machine turned and punched Exan who flied short distance and fell over. He started to run towards the monster again and noticed that his way was blocked by some old man. The old man threw his staff to the machine which concentrated to block Zidane's strikes. Lighting sparkled from the staff and the machine falled to ground. Ramuh retrieved his staff, bowed to Dagger and vanished. Exan ran to Jason. "Are you okay?" (OOC: Massacre, if the fight was over too soon. Just tell that the machine isn't dead and it rises to it's feet and begins fighting again.) " There are no such things as good and evil. However, that is the least of your concerns, since it is about to get much worse! IC> (Armodullahan collapsed, but it didn't stay that way. Much like the first time it was battled down here, it begins to gather itself up again.) Exan: Isn't there any way to stop this thing?! Zidane: Last time, we had to run! Danielle: Marvelous... (Armordullahan was back on its 'feet'. However, it did not have the chance to strike again, as it was suddenly blown to pieces! They just gape at its sudden destruction. And then...) Dagger: Sonething's wrong... Look! (Dagger pointed to the rock shelf. It was alight with a sinister glow that did not emanate from the stones. Amidst the glow was Jason, his wings and tail revealed yet again. His eyes were glowing red right along with the ghastly crimson light.) Zidane: What's going on, Jason? How'd you do that? That wasn't Ultima! (He did not answer. Zidane began to worry. So did the others.) Zidane: C'mon! Say something! (Finally, he spoke. But it was a voice that was not his own.) Jason: Not very sharp, are you? Zidane: What are you talking about?! (Jason just laughed. It was then that Exan pointed out something behind him. There was a shadow there, a shadow belonging to a creature with horns and broader wings than Jason's. Something had taken possession of him!)

I merely take the reigns that were given to me. Do not even think you can judge me. You are all insignificant whelps!
