LORD EGAN DEAD!
so according to the site egan has died?i wasnt aware.thaats to bad though i wasnt a huge fan of his form of satanism i was once a full fledged member of fcos.odd theres no mention of it on your site.

Yes I've only just noticed that myself. It's on the main page of the FCoS website. Does anyone know when that happened?

Reports are so far unsubstantiated. It is being considered a hacking attack by the council until we hear otherwise from a credible source.
John Allee, aka Lord Egan, suffered a stroke yesterday shortly after the board hack. It was fatal. For those of you who have seen the front page, you now know that it is a sincere display. It is not yet clear what the fate of the church will be--likely, Egan covered this in his Will. If not, then I hope that it will not crumble or fade, but fall into the hands of someone capable and reasonable who will continue Egan's vision. Please light a black candle, if you have one, for our dearly departed Head Priest, and wish him luck in his next incarnation. If you didn't particularly care for Egan, this would be a good time to shut up. You're won, so you can start pouring your energy into other things.
As for the board... One of four things can happen, as far as I see. 1) I am sending an email to EzBoard explaining the situation. If they either give me the password to Egan's account or restore my admin, I'll be able to fix the place up as best I can. 2) That is unsuccessful, but the next person up in line to take responsibility for the church creates a new board. 3) The board ends. 4) It stays like this.

I See That On The CoS Webpage There Is A Message On There From Lord Egans Brother, Explaining That The Church Is To Be Left To "Shana Ross" And That His Wish Was To Be Cremated And His Ashes Taken To Florida...I Am Starting To Think His Death Could Be True...How About You Stuart?

well to be honest I was more upset that I cant see the video section of the web site, but he was a grate photosphere and I give him a lot of respect.

John is not dead, 'Lord Egan' is and from a post on the yahoogroup he wants us to respect his decision. Good luck to him in all that he does but it's time to move on and take the FCoS higher and carry on with the great work he did, both for the FCoS and for satanism.
I'll post Johns request to the news forum just as soon as I can find it again.

Well I think he should have been a bit clearer about it but I also respect his decision to no longer carry out his work with the fcos, and I wish him luck in whatever path he chooses to follow.

John Dewey Allee is a dog, and any lamenting for his departure is misguided indeed. He only knew how to sling mud, and his limited knowledge on Magick was laughable. He abused his position, lied to the Council and behaved like a little child. Also, his "All Is One" philosophy is utter nonsense and should be treated as such.
With any luck he'll soon be forgotten, and THEN moving on can be done.

Of course you are entitled to your opinions Chris but I strongly disagree with you. I've already said something to this effect in the flame forum.
On the All is One philosophy I still have yet to see a decent argument as to why it is 'utter nonsense'. I can't find the argument someone posted on the other messageboard but I found it full of holes.
Whatever you think of the man he is still a friend to me and I will be talking to him next week when I get to Salem.

i for one agree with most of Lord Egens ideas, and his stile of magick is simple yet extremely effective for the simplicity that's involved. but you are still entitled to your opinion

And I will alway feel lucky to have have join The First Church of Satan before he died.
I still even now carry my membership card in my wallet!

Thats not exactly what happened but I'm not going to discuss internal matters here.
Anyway John is keeping the FCoS website alive as a constant resource for satanists and as a source of income for himself selling his membership cards/certificates CDs (which I reccomend to all fans of jazz and easy listening) and DVDs.
Its a memorial to all the hard work John put into satanism over the years. While he has many enemies most of us on the council still admire and respect his work. We were after all on his council for a long time.
