We all know (of) and love him. I'm actually somewhat of a Matt newbie, but I love him. I have a few shows and a burned copy of Beneath These Fireworks (you can't get it anywhere here and I'm too lazy to order it for now) Great music, and so damn funny!!

i serioulsy can NOT stop listening to matt lately! i'm barely giving time to anything else. hahahaha. i absolutely adore curve of the earth for some reason... everything on fireworks generally sounds the same to a certain extent (don't get me wrong, i LOVE it all) but i really, really love that one.
again, don't mind me... i know all of this has been talked about long ago, but i'd late jumping on the matt bandwagon.

I jumped on very very late too, dont worry. In fact, my copy of Beneath these Fireworks was the last one at Best Buy and they aren't carrying them anymore!

been downloading a couple of his recent shows, and the new songs are awwwwwwesome. he is the king of hooks. bulletproof weeks is gorgeous (ohhh the falsetto) as is winter dress and i just can't get the chorus of stay out of my head.
what is it about this guy? you can't speak of him without getting all happy and excited.

For all you Matt fans...the only Matt song I own is "Laid"...where should I start?? Should I try to find some live shows first, or just download a specific album off iTunes?? Let me know what you think...
I'm looking for some new music and I think Matt might be just what the doctor ordered.

i highly reccommend beneath these fireworks... it's just all that nice singer-songwriter pop, but it's catchy and really likeable (okay... loveable.)
if you want to go live show route, there's a TON of downloadable matt shows at www.archive.org in the live music archive. i'd suggest a full band show, but i guess it depends on what you like. for me, anyway, i find i like to hear the studio/full band first to get a real feel for the song (because it can all tend to sound the same if you get all acoustic) but that's just how i personally feel.
oh, and um, if you want to pee your pants laughing along with hear some great tunes, live shows might be a good option.

my favorite live matt shows are the ones with matt fish... but that's just because i think the cello is such an awesome addition to the guitar (and unique).

See, KJ, I think you need at least some of each... ones with just him and Matt Fish (so you can hear how it was) and ones of him and full band (so you can hear how it is now). I have a bunch of his shows, none from this year, though. Unfortunately, either the person who copied them for me or the person who she got them from put breaks in between each song, so there's a short silent pause in between. Nothing too major. Me thinks I might have to find you a couple of good ones and send them with my b&p stuff.

Brilliant idea!!! Tell you what, when you pick your 2 DRH shows that you want from me, I will go ahead and burn them and send them to you in exchange for 2 Matt Nathanson shows (you can pick your 2 favorites).
All you gotta do is send me your address and tell me which 2 shows you want...I think you already settled on 1 show.
