Apparently lots of stuff going on in Ari's world lately.
1) An overseas tour (with a Dublin, Ireland date just added today)
2) A contest to win a Sony Mylo, CD/DVD player, and autographed copy of the Break-In (link here)
3) And his song "Bird Never Flies" will be featured on the June 17th episode of the show "Army Wives" on Lifetime.

Great Ari podcast put up today from "The Acoustic Lounge on KSFS" - interview, album tracks and live tracks from Ari's 5/13/07 San Francisco show at the Bottom of the Hill.

Saw Ari perform at the River to River Festival's "Songwriters of the Living Room" showcase at the World Financial Center yesterday. He performed a very short set (only 4 songs), but it's always nice to hear him sing.
The other acts were Jim Campilongo (decent), The Bees (decent but got better about halfway through), Chris Thile (from Nickelcreek - freaking incredible), and Martha Wainwright (good).
Too bad it was SO hot and humid outside (it was held outdoors along the Hudson River). I think half of me melted into a puddle and the other half sat scorched on the folding chair.
Oh now the weight is on these shoulders. Now these streets are holy land

Awww... I actually recently discovered The Bees. Really enjoy a few of their tunes. And Martha! Man, I'd really love to be in the Wainwright family!

Ari put on another really kickass solo show this past Friday. It was also nice to have a show in my own state for once! It was in Red Bank, NJ overlooking the Navesink River. Ari took to the stage at sunset, so it was a very pretty backdrop for the show.
My mom has been asking me to burn her copies of Ari's albums. Since I hadn't gotten around to doing that, I just bought her original copies at the show and had him sign them. He gave me a puzzled "Don't you already have these?" look when I went up to him to get them signed, so I quickly said they were for my mama.
How pretty is this?

This "seeing Ari play on a two-week basis" is freaking awesome. I consider myself extremely fortunate that he's from around here and plays so many shows. I just saw him three straight days (M-W). He played lots of new stuff & basically kicked major arse. I have a ton of new videos that I'm uploading as I type this, with pretty good lighting for a change!
Next stop: Boston (although I may amend that and do the NJ one the night before Boston & then make the trek to MA...we shall see).
Re: sdcmsd
You should tell him to do an Aussie tour, Jenny. I'd totally go.
I quite enjoy the new album.
Ketchup is for winners, Ted.

So glad you like the new album, Jeremey I'll put in a good word for Australia the next time I see him play. He just got back from his UK tour, which, according to his blogs, went very well.
I went to see him in Boston over the weekend. It was part of this RAINN benefit. The organizers put together concerts all over the country to try and help raise money for RAINN. Ari only played 4 songs, but there were 7 other artists also playing that night. Such a great cause.
