Understandable (then again, this is coming from the girl who took a 4 1/2 hr drive to Boston to see him play ). It seems like he's touring quite a bit, so hopefully he'll go back to Chicago really soon.
I'm trying to assemble a good group for the NYC benefit show on 10/7. I could take a framed picture of you with me and set it right up front for him

Show was incredible, as usual. I seriously can't get enough of seeing that man perform. But another show in the area isn't likely to happen for awhile, he said Boo to that.

Actually, I believe the full-length album is done but isn't set for release until early 2007. I think it's been done for a couple months now, at least, but Columbia has been sitting on it. Once that drops, I'm sure he'll be touring like c-r-a-z-y.
But there IS a new EP (The Green Room Sessions) that's available for pre-order via Aware. All preorders come autographed Scheduled for release on 10/31. I just ordered mine yesterday. Hooray!

I seriously adore the man's music/voice. I've seen him 5 times in the past 2 months and I'm itching for more (although I won't get anymore for awhile).
I really can't wait to get the EP and the new album. I've already heard a number of new songs b/c of his shows and I adore them all.
And since you gals are going to ATL soon, if you are still around and don't have plans for 10/15 evening, Ari's doing a show at Smiths Olde Bar
...I'm shameless.
And I loved the drunk post. My mind immediately thought, "Ari Thrust Thread." I'm a perv. I can't help it.

My friend was supposed to make it to Ari's show at the Roxy yesterday. He missed the train and ended up missing the show. I felt bad b/c I was the one who kept pushing for him to go! Then he ended up having a pretty frustrating night.

Seriously. This EP is terrific. The fact that Ari put the entire thing together himself makes it even more wonderful. He wrote all the songs - except Fleetwood Mac's Little Lies, which he covered - played all the instruments, obviously sang it all, and mixed the entire thing on his laptop.

I was planning to pre-order it, but financing my upcoming trips took precidence. I'll probably pick it up in January when my checking account isn't hovering so closely to $0.
I did listen to the samples on aware and it sounded amazing!

It is! Ari continues to amaze me. I can't wait for the lyrics to be posted so I can actually understand what on earth he's singing in the song "Them". Whenever you get the EP, I'd love to know what you think, Tallyn!
