Re: Time for a Pow-Wow
Yeah, this "presale during work hours" can be hard. At any moment, my boss (or a coworker) can walk in and I can't say, "GET OUT. I'm trying to score good seats!"
And I agree about the staggering of same state shows. I say they should stagger same time zone shows. I'll have to think this over too. The nice thing is that the shows will be in the summertime and it'll be shorts and flipflop weather!

Re: Time for a Pow-Wow
Boston, Vegas and Chicago sales are the following Friday (Jenny, maybe you can try for seats in Boston in addition to your NJ show?) And I highly recommend traveling to Chicago (if it weren't the weekend of my friends wedding, that's what I'd do-- KJ, didn't Jason say that y'all could go up there in 6 months?). And Vegas, well, flights are cheap to Vegas from nearly everywhere.
I've decided that my priority show is the Pelham, Alabama show. And if I have any money left over, I might try for the Gorge. We'll see.

wow
did all of that come in an email, or was it just posted on the L83 site? (b/c if it's the former, i missed the memo). think the server will hold up?
Re: Time for a Pow-Wow It's one of my pet peeves. It happens to me so much, that I try my hardest to never spell anyone's name wrong. If I'm not sure, I ask.

Re: Time for a Pow-Wow
Out of curiousity, does anyone ever get an email from L-83 that contains pertinent info? I mean, I get the merch emails pretty consistantly, but rarely any emails of tour info, unless it's after the pre-sale.
Re: Time for a Pow-Wow
Yeah, I didn't get an e-mail either. I got the information from that Try JM blogspot thingy and then I went to the L83 log-in page and it was there too.
Re: Time for a Pow-Wow
I guess you guys probably read the thing on MSM about no soundchecks this Summer.
Quote:This was just on L-83 when I went to check presale dates:
Summer tour is going to be great, but we apologize to bear the unfortunate news that John won’t be doing sound checks before the show. This means we are doing without sound check parties for the time being. The good news is we’re offering a new fabulous opportunity to a handful of lucky Local-83 members for each show on the summer tour. Make sure to bring your appetite. More details to come…
It was good to see everyone on the road and we hope you enjoyed your sound check experience. We hope to bring this back in the near future.

I know, right? I mean, how are we supposed to laugh at the wacky 40-somethings waving bouquets for John wildly in the air, waving and oodling "John... John... Over here, John!" Geez, John! Think of your fans! We need more opportunities to laugh at people! Seriously!!!
Re: Time for a Pow-Wow
Haha. They should reword that little snippet. "lucky handful" should read "not you, Heather". Whatever they do, I'm sure it will be an opportunity for more people with bouquets and gifts to embarrass us all
Time for a Pow-Wow
Missing soundchecks is not the end of the world for me, they were okay, they always felt like some scheduled inconvenience for John to me. Now anything involving food gets a thumbs up from me. But that will bring the question, what is the point of joining the fanclub, since you can't get good seats because the site has crashed and scaplers have gotten the best ones and then no soundchecks and no meet and greets. They need to come up with something.
Re: Time for a Pow-Wow
Yes, it's becoming more and more difficult to be positive about L83 every single tour. Our tickets for The Woodlands last tour weren't wonderful so I'm kinda pessimistic about tickets this time around. Plus, Smirnoff is a piece of crap venue so Dallas might be a pain. Also, Brett Dennen is opening in Dallas and that makes me sad
Haha, I should really figure out a way to be positive about this...
positive.
You know what you can be positive about? We get better tickets from l83 than from ticketmaster ...They are usually in the first 15 rows. maybe not in the middle but what the hell.....no one is going to guarantee you 1st row middle seats everytime. I prefer the side anyway.. haha
and for 25 bucks...ANYTHING is better than ticket master...
everyonce in a while they surprise me and sell us tickets to stuff i normally wouldn't get to go too..so that's a plus...like the last charity show.
people are spoiled this was the first tour where they had soundchecks on a consistent basis..and they were fun... hell my christmas gifts last year were the sound check tapes..but I don't exect them everytime...I thought it was great when we got them when we did. and i enjoy them I love just listening to them fooling around I don't come expecting interaction and i don't leave feeling dissapointed. just happy to have heard a little extra music.
If you don't like L83 then you can always save the money and get your tickets elsewhere, just seems like we are all getting spolied..
just my opinion, no one has to agree here.

Re: re
My point is that if the main reason most fans join the club has to do with good seats and for whatever reason you can't get those (although that hasn't happened to me yet), what other insentive is there to join? I would think this would concern the organizers of the L83 as well.
P.S. Oh yeah, John Mayer fans have been spoiled since day one.
