We're very spoiled and it's because of the rare occasion that I continue to shell out $25 a year. The rare occasion is unfortunately the only reason. I have this problem with seeing how things can be improved and being annoyed when they aren't. It's not that I'm so upset that I would not renew or never attend anything L83 related. I just wish that the areas that can be improved were improved. That's all.

Its not so much that they're not having them anymore. Its the fact that they keep taking stuff away. As it is as an "international" member I'm not eligible for anything(RS subscription, contests etc...). When I first signed up for the fan club I didn't know this (it wasn't stated anywhere that I could see) and then there's the conversion rates. This was like the one perk that always seemed to be there(not for me, because all the shows that he did that I went to were either JM3, in a small venue or ACL Festival)just from what I've read. Now its going to be a select few. I mean I've been in the fan club for going on my 3rd year in April and I'm going to sign up again. Its more the principal of the matter. They don't update the site, the pre-sales seem to bring along hell for all those involved and now its just a "select few" for each show. I just think its a little bit unfair. That's just my opinion though.
I've met some great people because of the fan site and got to go to The MOD Club L83 only show and that's definately a great thing. It just seems that things seem to be disappearing more and more.
Re: re
I guess I just never got into it,... and yes I've been in it from the beginning..for anything but the ticket sales... so what ever they give me beyond that is a surprise...I guess when you don't expect anything you are not disapointed....
sorry this is a small thing in the scheme of things....I get nothing from the counting crows fanclub either and i have been a member since conception
oh wait I got a tshirt once..my husband say's it's perfect for me cause it says kookoo land or something like that...he says that's where I live.
and I get rolling stone on a regualr basis always have so a free subscription doesn't do anything for me...they can give me tickets on the front 15 rows that's enough...
and i have never had a problem getting tickets except housingworks
I don't need the site updated I don't use it, no emails fine i get more info from msm or now tryjm...
I guess I'm just satisfied with less..I am just thrilled we don't have to wait in line all night in chairs smoking out waiting for ticketron to open
see you guys have it soooooo good and you don't even know it...
wait some of those nights were damn good...never mind let's go back to that way of getting tickets

The only thing I'll complain about is the lack of emails since twice now I've missed pre-sales because I've been so busy with school (and I can check my email on my phone). Oh, and I'll mildly complain about the minor heart attacks of getting nothing but "Sorry, no tickets are available at this time" for 45 minutes straight AND then pull up nothing but shit, two sets of bleachers away for another 15 minutes before anything respectable comes up-- yeah, that's pretty bunk, too, in my book.
Call me spoiled, but it's not hard to be organized enough to send out an email at least a week in advance and if you know there's going to be a heavy amount of volume on the site... SPACE CRAP OUT!
I don't expect much, but I do expect a little bit. Although, I'm thinking I might let my fandom lapse a bit.

Quote:Sound check info:
Since our recent announcement, there has been some question on the boards about whether John will be doing sound check parties in the Canadian and Australian markets. Indeed, John will be doing sound checks and sound check parties in Canada and Australia.
However, beginning with the summer tour dates, John will no longer be doing any sound checks until further notice. John feels a great synergy with the band after being on the road consistently over the last year, and there is simply no need for them to sound check (yes, someone still has to check the instruments and room acoustics, but they have hotshots to do that for them).
Re: re
That's hilarious. Well, good to know they feel in sync enough to not have to soundcheck every night. Five people going to these eat and greets? Sounds strange but hopefully everyone who gets to go will walk away with a really good story. I'll be enjoying raucous dinners with KJ beforehand. HAHA!

Re: so far
Congrats, KJ!
I was shut out of my PNC NJ show. Didn't pull up anything good or decent at all. So I opted for the 2nd NJ show (the sketchy Camden one!), Pit 4, seats 1 & 2. I know it's a close row, but I think these are pretty darn far off to the side, so I don't know how the view is. (I was Pit 3, seats 7 & 8 last year, and I was already far to the side)
