I thought the Jessica Simpson thing was an April Fool's Day joke and now Jessica Simpson fans are moving in. I'm so confused! It's definitely starting to feel like someone told a joke and I'm not getting the punchline. Are the people posting there now really Jessica Simpson fans or are the Mayer fans posing as Simpson fans?

It's an April Fools joke that has been going on for a week now. I suspect it should be back to normal in a few days, not sure, but what some older poster are doing is sort of what I was expecting earlier in the week, but instead people freaked out. Once they change it back, things will settle down. At least I hope so. I can't save threads every minute.

It's an April Fool's joke. One in a line of many. As far as the "JS fans"...ignore that. It's all part of the rouse.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. I'm gonna see if I can't get a bunch more people who are serious about the music and stuff to come over here. Now the non-john mayer clique are acting like assholes and starting a bunch of fake Jessica threads. I'm gonna set up camp here at Great Indoors awhile. See how things go.

Hello, I've been a member of MSM for a couple of years now and I thought it was just an April Fool's joke, maybe it is, but it is pretty annoying a week later. So I decided to sign up here for some normalcy. Hope it doesn't disappoint and hope that members from MSM come over here in droves, well the good ones anyway.

Hey all! I mostly lurk here at the Great Indoors, but I wanted to let you know that if you're adding new communities to your list of places to post, the anti local-83 is a good one to stop by as well. Heather (founder here) is a member there as well. We happily co-exist.

Well, thanks... but I disagree a tad bit with your reasoning (the self-rightous bit). Someone posted something in one of those threads-- possibly the What's the deal with the JS stuff? thread-- along the lines of, If you substite JS with JM in the hoax threads you realize who ridiculous MSM had gotten. And that's true. You know? I mean, we all like JM and stuff, but I know that I personally just have to roll my eyes at most of the posts there, ESPECIALLY when it's a lull time.
Eh, to each's fandom his/her own. I've never been the type to plaster my walls with pictures of him. I have a concert/pic photo album and that's about it-- house guests would never know that I like JM unless I told them. And as time progresses, I care less and less about him...
That's what you have to understand about the "vets," as you call them. They're pretty much over all the hype and from that PoV, the "newbies" reactions just seem silly.
But yeah, GI is much more chill and feel free to add to and create threads as you deem fit. I promise not to be mean here...

capricleux83, i agree. what i said was kind of in the same attitude that i was condemning. ironic, isn't it? i guess what i was really upset about was the lack of respect in general at MSM.
