Quote:I got an e-mail from Eddie Owen a few weeks back. Eddie used to own a place called "Eddie's Attic" in Decatur, Georgia. It's the first place I ever played after I dropped out of Berklee and moved to Atlanta. I learned everything about being a singer and songwriter there. Turns out Eddie once again works at the Attic, which is all I need to know. I wrote him back to tell him I wanted to play a string of dates there, and we worked some dates up.
I'm going to play at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA on December 20, 21 and 22. Like I used to. All acoustic, myself and Dela. I'm trying to get Scotty to sell merch. I'm going to play chronologically each night, touching on different songs from the beginning of my career (then) to the end of the beginning of my career (now). I hope to play every song I've ever written over those 3 days. Every one I can remember, at least.
Not sure how ticketing works yet. I know that L-83 members will get first dibs at a handful of the tickets, but beyond that, I have no idea. The place holds 170 or so people, but don't worry, you'll hear it. It's gonna be a very cool December.
Oh now the weight is on these shoulders. Now these streets are holy land

Re: John, Dela, and Scotty to play Eddie's Attic
There is no way in the world that I can go to this, but I hope that all the GI peeps are there front and center.
Re: John, Dela, and Scotty to play Eddie's Attic
Ok, do we think he meant chronologically each night as in...some songs each night from the beginning of his career to now? Or do we think he means he will start from the beginning of his career on night one and end on night three?

HAHHAAAAAAA! i must say only a few things on these posts actually make me laugh OUT LOUD.
i share your enthusiasim though. it sounds so AMAZING! i mean...thats all i ever wanted was to hear all his old songs ( i STILl havent been to a JM concert) AND his newer ones ACOUSTIC in a very small, intimate, personal environment. and RIGHT on my bday! seriosuly if thats ALL i got for christmas/bday/EVERYTHING i would be content. too bad i had to live all the way out in CA...we never get anything over here......
am i insane enough to try to make a plan to fly out there? you bet...

I gotta say, this would make me happier than anything. I just don't want the same old people who feel it is their RIGHT to see John at every show to get tickets. Let's just hope those who do will be grateful and also generous!

Re: Presale
Aww, Tamara and Heather, have the best time in the world. You two are sooooooo lucky. You must give us a full report. And if you girls get the chance to molest John, give an extra pinch and a squeeze in my honor. Just kidding. It's only about the music or that's what I keep telling myself.
