We watched House of D last weekend.
It was directed by David Duchovny and starred Tea Leoni (his real-life wife) and Robin Williams.
It was pretty good, I must say.
My mom really enjoyed it, too.

I saw Jarhead last night. Fantastic movie, IMO. I love Jake Gyllenhaal, so I think I may have tried to like it for that reason at first. Towards the end of the movie, the story redeemed itself because you saw the characters come to fruition as the war did. The scenes in the oil fields were strikingy beautiful despite the weirdness of what we were seeing. I just loved it. I highly recommend it...a way to understand a little of what happened to our Gulf War vets.

I was supposed to see Prime this past Friday, but the projector broke within the first five minutes. But I should be checking it out tomorrow. Cross fingers that all is well in the land of film reels and projectors.

They gave us free passes to come back. And I did see it yesterday. I really liked it, although the ending really wasn't that spectacular. But a good film nonetheless.
Re: re
My mom and I went and saw 'Walk the Line' yesterday.
In a word, it was wonderful.
I cannot express to you how much I liked this movie.
I'm sure my love for Johnny Cash's music contributed to that.
But like most younger people, I wasn't fully aware of his life circumstances when he was younger.
The love story between Johnny and June was at times heartbreaking and all of the time beautiful.
As always, Johnny's music was real, in every sense of the word.
Joaquin and Reese did wonderful jobs singing, too.
Even my mom had to ask "Is this really him singing and not Johnny Cash? Because he really sounds like Johnny Cash."
If you like music, if you like movies about real people, if you like superb acting, go see this movie.
Re: re
I loved Walk the Line! Reese is so watchable. It was ridiculous how cute and engaging she was. Obviously, she portrayed how popular and beloved June Carter was very well. Also, happy endings are great.
I saw "Syriana" on Saturday. Not the most happy of movies. I'm still kinda disturbed by half of it. The acting was pretty incredible...but it did kinda depress me. Matt Damon is pretty.
Let's get down and swim this sea of blankets

Now that I'm back in a town with a movie theater I need to read this thread more often for movie suggestions. Before it did me no good because by the time I was able to see them they were old news.
'Red Eye' was pretty good.
Your traditional suspensful thriller.
Not really an original story idea.
Still good, though.
It didn't hurt that I love Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy.
How can he be so pretty and so scary at the same time?
Re: re
I want to take my nephew to see "Curious George" so badly.
I wonder if he'd sit still for the entire thing.
I think it would just be so much fun to see his reaction.
Plus, I want to see it, too.
Re: re
Watched a few movies, curtosy of Netflix, this past weekend:
Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit - EXCELLENT. I laughed out loud throughout the entire thing. Gromit is the best dog ever! Also, it gave me an odd craving for cheese.
Serenity - The big studio movie made from the cancelled series 'Firefly' created by Joss Whedon (of 'Buffy the Vampire' fame). It was an excellent movie... awesome continuation for a 'Firefly' fan. I think they did it in a good way, though, so anybody could watch it and enjoy it, even if they've never heard of 'Firefly' before. Plus, Nathan Fillion is HOTT.
The Man - Okay, anything with Eugene Levy in it is pretty much money. That man is Fun-ny. This wasn't a great movie, the plot was very unoriginal, a retread of a thousand buddy-cop movies we've all seen, but Eugene Levy makes it funny. And, let's face it, Samuel L. Jackson is a badass.
Re: reCapote was excellent, definitely a must-see.
Rented Stealth. It really was a nice no-brainer. I enjoyed the loud noises and the scenery...ie:
Josh Lucas is SO hott. Man, I could get lost in those eyes. Anywho, I almost crapped myself when I heard The Fray playing in the middle of scene. The movie really did a great job with music. It's a good rental. Satisfying.
Also rented The Motorcycle Diaries. Has anybody seen this? I think it got a few Golden Globe nominations last year. What a fantastic movie! The story is incredible and TRUE. The scenery is great and the story is absolutely touching. I loved it. I recommend it 100%.
