Sirius grinned at James' gloating over him getting it right. 'Wasn't hard to guess that!' he said with a smile. The silly game was lifting his spirits already.
He frowned at the next guy. 'Hmm .. I'm gonna guess he's a Gryffie.'
Remus
Remus also studied the dark-haired boy currently about to sit on the stool. 'I'm going to guess Ravenclaw' he said quietly. He wanted to join in the game - what James had said about them making the most of their last year together had hit home, and he couldn't just brood the whole meal.
(ooc: sorry ... bit crap, but im distracted yet I want to move this on!)

James
After poking his tongue out at Siri, James raised an eyebrow and glanced at the new firstie. hmmmmm....he heard Remus comment and he flashed the boy a smiole - thankfully it appeared that the boy was willing to join in. James's gaze went back to the firstie and he pulled a face - he saw reason to both the suggestions so far - the boy looked studious and serious....but, then on first glance you'd think Remus was a Ravenclaw himself! 'oooh...tough choice....I'm going to go with Ravenclaw!'
Peter shrugged and nodded along with the others - he'd not really gotten the hang of this game, and usually guessed wrong, so he simply went along with the majority guess.
Ali
The guessing game was keeping the gryffindor 7th years occupied, and Ali looked a little surprised when Auri joined them. "Hey," she murmured, blinking a couple of times in confusion. "Where did you come from???" whilst Ali hadn't seen all of her friends on the train, she figured that they all had been there - although now she was wondering how and why Auri was so late. "Are you ok?" she asked, looking concerned. The hall, despite the newcomers, was emptier than it had been in previous years. Some students had been pulled out of Hogwarts by worried parents is what she'd heard....had Auri been late because her parents had not wanted her to attend? Or worse, had there been an attack? She knew she was worrying a bit much, for the girl looked perfectly well....but Ali didn't want to see her friends or their families hurt.
Auri blinked a couple of times and then nodded.
"Yeah sure I'm fine...well it was kind of a delay...long story, I'll tell you later" she replied smiling. Yes a delay thanks father make my life just a bit more difficult would you? Auri thought, her head was aching with confusion and hate since she woke up. She twirled her messy dark locks round her fingers and sighed a little but smiled brightly all the same. No worries my final year..I'm at home now at Hogwarts with my friends I am happy she thought. Auri glanced at Lily and Ali and even at the Marauders who never failed to make her laugh. Home is where my heart is...I will be happy here
Re: 1st September, 19:00 - Feast Time! (Gryffindor Table)
(OOC: And mine is rusty as well.... *sigh* I guess I'm just a lil distracted at the moment.....)
"Thanks Auri!" Lils beamed a bit at Aurelia's congrats, light reflecting off her shiny gold badge. She had charmed it so that it always looked new and shiny for it was currently one of her most prized possesions. Lily wouldn't admit it but she had dreamed of being Head Girl since her first year, from that first year always striving to set the example. That was one reason why she had been so upset that James had been named Head Boy, for she had worked seven years for this moment, while James had been fooling around the whole time.
However, wanting to be anywhere but at the sorting was not the idea she should have been having, but she couldn't help but get a little ADD sometimes!
Noticing Ali's concern for Auri in her tone of voice, her thoughts surfaced back to the present as Lily turned towards the newly arrived Gryffindor as she said she'd tell them about it later. "Then we're definitely taking a rain check on that one, for you know you can always talk to us about anything."
Turning back to the sorting with a sigh, Lils began to twirl a crimson lock around her finger as nonchalantly as she could, for she didn't want to be a distraction, but she really had to do something with her hands as she was getting antsy. Before she left on the train this morning, she had had a few shots of expresso to make sure she would be awake and alert throughout the day. Her eyes wandering, it was easy to see that there weren't as many first-years to be sorted this year as in the past. She knew a few of the families wanted to wait a least a year before they sent their children away, due to a series of unfortunate events with...well, dark wizards and the like. Currently Lily herself wasn't afraid of anything as Dumbledore was here, but who knew what would happen later?
Re: 1st September, 19:00 - Feast Time! (Gryffindor Table)
ooc: ak, i knew there was something i meant to put in the last post - sorting!!!
The hat took some time deliberating the newcomer - the boy took it all in his stride, expression barely wavering as the hat whispered into his ear. Eventually the hat reached it's decision - one the boy seemed pleased with since his lips twitched into a minute smile as the hat announced 'SLYTHERIN!!!'
Ali
Ali stared at the boy - Slytherin??? Well...he did seem kinda quietly confident - and the intelligence of his face might be the maliscious cunning associated with Slytherin. Ali raised an eyebrow "Well...i didnt expect that!" she murmured, then shook her head and turned her thoughts back to the previous conversation - she glanced at Auri again, to make sure the girl was ok.
James
James visibly balked as the kid became a Slytherin. "Ak, thats all we need, more slytherins!" he pulled a face "Honestly, they should disband that house!" he was only half joking - recent events with Slytherins and Dark wizards had made him wonder why the didn't just ban Slytherins from learning magic...it would have solved a lot of problems. But still, it wasn't his descision to make.
The next firstie stepped up to the stool - a short, skinny boy with unruley red hair and a nervous smile. "Gryffindor" he said with a smile "We get all the red-heads..." he glanced at Lils, tempted to make a joke about her firey temper...but he managed to keep his mouth shut.
"Yeah he seemed more of a Raven at first glance" commented Auri smiling a little. She glanced at James and grinned.
"Yes we do get a couple of rouge friends" Auri replied glancing briefly at Lily and her scarlet locks. She always admired her hair, it was a beautiful bright colour unlike Auri's own dark messy mane.
She looked at James then back to Lily and sighed, She'll just have to give him a chance this year... Auri thought wisely, Afterall he has been trying to get her to smile at him since first year...I hope it works out.
"Since Lily's Head Girl" began Auri kind of randomly, "She gets her own dorm right? Lucky thing Lils!..What are we going to do about your old bed??"
As the name of Slytherin echoed throughout the hall, Lily sighed slightly to herself. Exchanging a surprised glance with Ali, it was quite evident that many of the old students had not seen a Slytherin coming out of the boy who sat before them. “wow, neither did I…” With the naming of that house, another potentially good kid had fallen to the dark side.

Well, it wasn’t exactly as dramatic as that, for not all Slytherins were conceited snobby purebloods like Malfoy, but there was a large lot of them bound for trouble. There were some good ones too, and Lils actually preferred Slytherin company over James’ any day. However, there weren’t any new students from Gryffindor yet, so Lily was getting a little anxious.
“Yes! He’s ours – I just know it!” As a red-headed boy came across the stage, Lily beamed as she could tell who their first new housemate would be. Oh yes, he was definitely a Gryffindor. There was no doubt about it in her mind. And he was so cute and little too! At James’ remark, she almost grinned at him, though it was more from potentially acquiring a redhead and James was just in the way of her line of vision. Yes, she’d have fun secretly pretending that he was her little brother, though she would be too embarrassed to tell anyone that.
After Aurelia spoke about her not being in the room she had been in for the past six years, Lily held that thought for a moment. “I hadn’t thought about that, actually. It never had crossed my mind that I would be in a different room. We’ve all been together for sooo long…” Not wanting to get too sentimental about it being their last year, she quickly changed her reminiscent tone. “I suppose you all can do whatever you want with it. Just letting you know though, this doesn’t mean that we’re giving up our late night talks! How else would I find out what’s going on everywhere?”
Auri laughed,
"Yeah rock on to that! We will still do what all normal seventeen-year-old-girls do, gossip..I mean talk of course. Hmmm...but I wouldn't want to leave your bed and all empty like that. Mind you Lils, be prepared for us sneaking into your most probably all beautiful and spacious Head Girl room" she said, Auri glanced at the sweet little red haired boy who was now under the judgement of the hat. You could pass him as Lily's brother (if she had one) any day, Auri grinned at the thought of her friend being a big sister. Poor Lily, she thought, And all the trouble she has with Petunia...I'd go insane with a sister like hers, she's one of the most horrible vile people I've ever met.
Auri thought about her own family, she didn't have any brothers or sister...a couple of cousins on her mother side but that was really all. Her mother's family definately appealed to her more, she knew never her father's parents or brothers well and frankly never bothered to.
Her mother's family was a large pure-blood wizarding family, known widely and not at all like the pure-blood snobs which occupied the Slytherin House. Well in every family there were rebels, take Sirius Black for example he certainly is a rebel to his family's traditions as well as his cousin but she quite disliked his brother; Regulus as well. Aurelia was the rebel of the Austins family and therefore held a firm cold barrier between her and her father's side.
Many of them were Slytherins too which biased her judgement greatly. There weren't many witches or wizards that didn't turn evil from Slytherin, if dare say any who turned out not to be foul and conceited.
