Madelyne Pryor
Real Name: Madelyne Pryor
Alias/Codename: None as of yet
Character Type: Adapted Canon
Occupation: none
Grade Level: sophomore but doesn't attend school
Affiliation: Brotherhood
Age: 16
Sex: Female
Height: 5'2
Weight: 105
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Red-orange

Appearance: Five foot two, 105lb with bright red, almost orange, shoulder length hair and striking bright green eyes. Very light colored and clear skin with a few freckles around a dainty nose. Madelyne is a very active person but not so to the point that she has become a muscle bound freak with a craving for blood and sport *rwhar*! She has a slender, little body frame with a few patches of baby-fat here and there.

Clothing: Madelyne loves more provocative clothing. Tight and teeny shorts, tank tops and sneakers. In the winter she takes on a more casual wardrobe of sweaters and slacks. She loves jewelry and accessories. She's always wearing some type of ring or complicated beadwork she's made. She has her nose pierced as well.

Personality: Madelyne is an outgoing and straightforward person. She's enthusiastic and excitable; a "doer" who lives in the world of action. Blunt, straight-shooting, risk-taking, she is willing to plunge right into things and get her hands dirty. She lives in the here-and-now, and places little importance on theory, future sight or intuition. She looks at the facts of a situation, quickly decides what should be done, executes the action, and moves on to the next thing.

Madelyne has an uncanny ability to perceive people's attitudes and motivations. She picks up on little cues, which go completely unnoticed by most other people, such as facial expressions and stance. She's typically a couple of steps ahead of the person or persons she's interacting with. She uses this ability to get what she wants out of a situation. Rules and laws are seen as guidelines for behavior, rather than mandates. If she decides that something needs to be done, then her "do it and get on with it" attitude takes precedence over the rules. However, Madelyne has her own strong beliefs in what's right and what's wrong, and will doggedly stick to her principles. Any established rules hold little value to her, but her own integrity mandates that she will not, under any circumstance, do something which she feels to be wrong. Strangely enough, she believes mutants to be the future and gives little value to humans who show open contempt and disdain for mutants and other people who are considered "weird", "abnormal", or "strange".

Madelyne has a strong flair for drama and style. She's a fast-moving, fast-talking person who has an appreciation for the finer things in life. She's very good at story telling and improvising. She usually makes things up as she goes along, rather than following a plan. She loves to have fun, and is a fun person to be around. She can sometimes be hurtful to others without being aware of it, as she generally does not know and may not care about the effect her words have on others. It's not that she doesn't care about people, it's that her decision-making process does not involve taking people's feelings into account. She makes decisions based on facts and logic.

Madelyne's least developed area is her intuitive side. She's impatient with theory, and sees little use for it in her quest to "get things done". Madelyne will occasionally have strong intuitions or premonitions that are often way off base, but sometimes very lucid and positive. She does not trust her instincts, and is suspicious of other people's intuition as well.

Madelyne needs to keep moving, and does well in situations where she is not restricted or confined. She constantly fidgets and twiddles her thumbs and will eventually explode if she can't get up and dance or move around. She does well in surprise situations where her athletic skills are of need or great importance. She does well and gains, emotionally, when she does something right for a crowd of people. When all is on her shoulders she ends up doing very well and lives up to, and sometimes exceeds, expectations. She's got incredible hand-eye coordination. She handles stress with ease--she whips out jokes or is the first to throw a punch in crisis filled situations.

Madelyne uses all of her abilities to there fullest. She also holds high expectations for those who have more than the less fortunate (monetarily, physically, and emotionally) and will show open disdain for laziness. If you want to anger Madelyne, simply lay around all day, watch TV and eat potato chips.

Take on use of powers: No scruples. Well, only using them when she needs something to survive. She constantly steals using her telepathic abilities and gives her landlord telepathic money and mind clouding change.

Current Powers: Madelyne has telepathic and psychokinetic abilities but focuses on her telepathy. Using her telepathy she can send her own thoughts, receive the thoughts of others and probe untrained and willing minds. She can even make herself visually and telepathically invisible (making the illusion that she is invisible in the minds of those around her) and cloud the judgment of the minds she's had long-time access to. To make herself telepathically invisible she must cut off all ties she has to the astral plane and not use her telepathy. When she becomes telepathically invisible it is as if she's not even in existence.

Using her Psychokinesis, she can use telekinesis and lift any object up to 300 pounds or multiple objects that add up to that weight amount. By projecting psionic force in front of her she can deflect flying objects and low-levels of energy but can not surround herself with 360 degrees of this force. For her telekinesis she uses her hands as a guide.

Another power she gains from Psychokinesis is the ability to manipulate energy (e.g. fire/heat). So far she can ignite small, flammable objects in a matter of seconds.

Potential Powers: Madelyne's telepathy and telekinesis are always growing so, obviously, she'll become stronger in that area. Much later in life she'll be able to warp her environment and create matter from existing matter and teleport.

Weapon of Choice: Madelyne is tough, when need be. In a street-fight she'll use her fists and sometimes a little bit of telekinesis. Other than that, she's never had to use a weapon such as her mind. When she's running about with the Brotherhood she'll definitely use her powers.

Other Skills: Madelyne loves aeronautics. She had hopes of becoming a pilot but sees that dream quickly slipping away because of her powers and the attitude people have towards mutants. Madelyne loves to tinker with computers as well.

Likes/Dislikes: Madelyne loves the outdoors and sports. She travels a lot and loves to explore. She's very active and loves to exercise, dance, and mess with computers and technology and swim. She also loves to expand her mind through hands-on tutorials and just toying with things and experimenting. She loves working with her hands. She loves marshmallows, too. She doesn't like reading or anything where she has to sit or use her imagination. Television and radio simply make her angry. She gets upset with those who do not make use of what they have and those who are lazy. She dislikes planning and theory and situations where she would need to formulate elaborate plans of action. She loves to be...er...sporadic.

Something Madelyne is very interested in, as of late, is the mutant issue. She's all for mutant supremacy and sees people who emulate Magneto as very smart. However, she's very uncomfortable with the whole "hurting innocent people" thing.

Known Family: None

History: When Madelyne was just a few months old, she was found, abandoned, in a back-lot just a few feet from a convenience store in New York City, New York with just a blanket and name tag. She was thrust into an orphanage and a lonely life. As an orphan, Madelyne didn't have the luxuries of love and parents (two things she wanted even as a child, more than Christmas gifts). Her powers first manifested when she was just a few years old. She subconsciously made herself invisible to those people who she didn't see fit as foster or even adoptive parents. Her powers kept her out of a great deal of bad homes, but some very good ones as well.

Madelyne hated life with no loving parents. But she settled for the freaks at the orphanage as her siblings and close friends. Like school, the orphanage had its cliques. Madelyne was in the "freak" group. Her group consisted of the sickly kids and kids with physical issues. But Madelyne didn't mind; she liked people for their personalities and the "freak group" had the greatest of all. Out of the "freak group" Madelyne had two closer siblings/friends. There was Marty (who hadn't a real name), a Mexican girl whose mother had abandoned her after running from home. Marty was a year younger than Madelyne and barely spoke English. The other "sibling" was Brenda. Brenda had been born addicted to a few things besides her mother's milk. Brenda also had a lazy eye. Although the two had some problems, Madelyne loved them like sisters.

When Madelyne was 10, Brenda died of heart failure and Marty, whose real name was Maria, was found by her family and taken back to Mexico. This left Maddie with nothing and no one, once again. But Madelyne wasn't then, like she isn't now, the type of person to dwell on things. She quickly bottled up her anger and frustration and moved on. But her emotions caught fire when a young girl, Elizabeth, from Madelyne's orphanage was adopted. The girl looked sweet and angelic. She had big blue eyes and long, curly blonde hair. Madelyne hated her. And as Elizabeth walked to her new parent's shiny new car, she looked back at Madelyne and sent a nasty telepathic message. This shocked Madelyne, as she herself was the only person she knew of who could do such a thing. Well, instead of sitting back and taking the insult, Madelyne had her first pyrokinetic manifestation--she ignited Elizabeth's parent's car (while they were outside of it, of course). After that, Madelyne never heard from nor saw Elizabeth.

Madelyne left the orphanage, with the use of her powers, the summer following her 15th birthday. She was able to trick the mind of a man into giving her an apartment and absorbed tons of knowledge from random people, which excited her and lead to her current ways of stealing whatever she wants. Madelyne had been on her own for a year when a powerful mutant called Apocalypse decided to cause some trouble. Now, not only interested in this Apocalypse character she's also made a side-trip to Washington to see the increasingly popular anti-mutant protest.

A few things.

Ok. If that's true, how come:

Quote:
She can sometimes be hurtful to others without being aware of it, as she generally does not know and may not care about the effect her words have on others.

That doesn't really seem to fit with each other :) .

Also, it isn't clear what happened after she ignited the car (Yes, I am curious, because I love the story, heh). She never saw Elizabeth again..what happened that she never saw her again?

I love the bios. But it is more of a OC then Madelyne Pryor. So...I wonder what others think of the altered state? *Hint!* :)

She doesn't realize what she's done until it has been done. She doesn't have the action leads to a reaction type personality. She just takes action. And she's pretty callous, so even if she knows she's hurt someone's feelings, she doesn't care.

Well, Elizabeth was actually Mr. Sinister in disguise. She never saw Elizabeth again because after a while Liz turned up missing and took a new form. But, Sinister has been following Madelyne her entire life in new forms.

I'm using the whole Sinister created Madelyne story but I have yet to mention what Madelyne comes from.

I was being very vague about all of this on purpose. :)

Edit: And if someone wanted to RP Sinister, it might be a fun little sub-plot.

And I wanted Madelyne to join-in the RPG as Jewel is. But Jewel is going to help the x-men whereas Madelyne will help the Brotherhood.

Re: Madelyne Pryor
I really really like it. The personality is slightly contradictory in some areas, but it doesn't matter. You obviously know what you're doing.
