I wonder sometimes
Let me get this stright?

Okay how many of you been here for a long time?

okay well how many of you introduce yourself as you do to Nuhere?

He single him out, you do greet everyone as you do Nuhere?
Is it wrong that you did it like that?
No of coarse not but it's wrong you don't want to get to know your Christian brother or sister?
I would say so
I have a question for ALL of you

Hi I was wondering what denomination are you?
My name is Zack and yours is?

"Hi I was wondering what denomination are you?"

Presently I am a Presbyterian/ Methodist(combined church). Not only that I was a deacon for two terms and and elder for one. I have served as head of "building and grounds" and was head of the committee to install a new interim pastor which was a very successful endeavor considering our small church.

Re: wonder
So you are not an atheist Nuhere? I am so confused right now. However my name is Jon, I was raised a baptist, but consider myself to be a christian now, no denomination.

Keep back nothing. Nothing that you have not given away will ever really be yours. Nothing in you that has not died will ever be raised from the dead. Re: wonder
No nothing wrong with it all, but most christians I know do not go around bashing others. Even if he was trying to get us to think about the Lord, that is the wrong way to go about it in my opinion, cause all it lead to was negative feelings, and emotions.

I attend the Vineyard. Technically, they do not have "memberships", and I have been attending for 12 years. I have been a Christian for 28 years. I was raised in the Nazarene denomination of Protestant Christianity.

X Zack X, I am familiar with two "types" of Church of Christ. One has been around a couple of hundred of years, and is pretty "normal" except that it is not too sure about the use of instruments in worship. The other started up during the 70's and tends to belive that there should only be one per city ("Boston Church of Christ", "Miami Church of Christ", etc.) along with a bunch of other things that are very different from the "original" Church of Christ denomination.

I have heard this second type also called, "The Boston Movement". Which type are you?

Yes, people who don't believe Jesus existed can hardly be called Christians. Going to church does not make a person a Christian anymore than going to McDonalds makes a person turn into a Big Mac.

The Boston Church of Christ broke away from the mainline Church of Christ. The International Churches of Christ (ICC) is the same group that started with the Boston Church of Christ. The two groups have a lot in common but the ICC is much worse.

X Zack X, do you believe that water baptism is necessary for salvation?

"X Zack X, do you believe that water baptism is necessary for salvation?"

No....and Yes.....

See I don't see the world Black and white
There are some gray areas

Let me ask you this
People in a isolated place NEVER
i mean NEVER heard about Christ
die...will the go to hell?
They believe in ONE God
and such
but are never baptised
Will they go to hell?

I don't go to an ICOC.

about Baptisim let me as you this

What if your a true 100% christian
you pray with all you heart
you love God
you read your bible often
you go to church whenever your able
(fellowship remember Church isn't a building it's people)
BUT you can't be baptised because your parents WON'T Let you and you know if you get baptised behind there back they'll keep you from going to church reading the bible
so you don't
you then die- will you go to Heave or hell?

While this other person was baptised
but parties all the time Likes God but not really loves him
Reads the bible ONCE in his life
Prays hardly ever if ever
he dies
will he go to heave because hes baptised?

Re: wonder
Did either one of those people accept Jesus into their hearts and their lord and savior, cause that is the most important part. You can love God all you want, which is a great thing, but if you do not believe that he gave Jesus to us to die for our sins, and then was resurrected again, if you do not not accept Jesus, than Baptism and all that other stuff is just for show. I believe Baptism shows you love and dedication to Christ, and if you do not do I think you still go to heaven. As for the guy who nevers hears about Jesus, I have no clue if he will or will not go, that is not my decesion to make, leave that up to God. Another thing about the two guys you have described, both of them are equal in Gods eyes, they both sin all the time, and are horrible sinners.

People sometimes see the world black and white
when the world is full of colors

1. the first senerio is a girl two of them actually
they cannot be baptised because there parents won't allow it to happen
(In other words not untill there 18)
2. I've had many talks with them about God and everything
and they're very amazing kids I mean I love have conversations with them they encourge me

3. I'm NOT talking about people who have the chance to be baptised, I AM talking about people who cannot be baptised
because of some circumstance

Zack

Considering that baptism was practiced Pre Christianity and by pagans as well to accomplish similar goals why is baptism so important? Christians didn't introduce the practice but borrowed it from others. Is it really significant?

Baptism is an outward sign of an inward reality. It symbolizes a believers death to sign and being raise in Christ.

"He never said he wasn't a Christian (from my understanding)"

He has been hammering in atheist doctrine for the past little while, and he wont back down from his claim Christ never existed. You have to at least believe Christ existed to be a Christian, which is why everyone is so confused.
