Re: Whats your greatest fear? Well, besides the obvious fears of God and hell, i am extremely afraid of getting eaten alive or getting bit by an alligator or shark. Just the thought of them swimming around me when I'm at the ocean or in a lake makes me want to shudder. **Shudder** I also fear spiders. Them things look creepy. I also sometimes fear the dark, but thats only when i get to thinking that there's a spiritual world out there and who knows whats flying around in room or outside my window that I can't see. |

Re: Whats your greatest fear? Man this is a hard topic.....I cant even think of anything Im truely afraid to be around or whatever....although I tend to get sick to my stomach when I see real blood on one of those paramedic shows on TLC, but does that mean i fear it(I could care less if its cow blood(or organs for that matter) or animal blood, but human blood makes me sick sometimes, no clue why though)? I'm not sure....anyways the only thing that truely scares me is the unknown I guess..... |

Re: Whats your greatest fear? Man, let me see. Beside spiders and hell, I guess I am afraid of being eaten alive. (Like the first scene in Jurassic Park, with the raptor and all.) being tortured (but I would gladly go through with it for Jesus Christ.)And sometimes, at night, when it's all dark, if feels like i'm not the only one in my room, but there are other things going around in my room. I'm not exactly scared of it, but if feels creepy.

Re: Whats your greatest fear?Ye o' Little FaithThis might sound wierd from a Christian. And this might sound like "Ye o' little faith" to me, but I think that everyone who reads this forum really does feel the same way. Ok, here goes. My greatest fear is that I really am not truly saved. That I am just going through the motions without any real depth. That my faith is just my cultural ZAP. And when I get to heaven I will be like those saying, Lord, Lord, did we not prophcy in your name? and God will say, "Depart from Me, I never knew you." Pretty scarry? I am pretty sure that all of you have the exact same fear. I mean let's face it, all Christians feel this fear from time to time. If not, than all of you wouldn't be posting hell as our greatest fear. If we had no fear that we were'nt saved than we wouldn't be scared of hell. ![]()

Re: Whats your greatest fear?As for Physical Fear...As for Physical Fear, i think that I would have to agree wil Spaceman Spiff. I fear being eaten alive, or eaten perion. I also fear being tortured. (I would do it for Jesus, but let's face it, it would be a lote harder to do than say. We might even deny him, just think about that!) ![]()

Re: Whats your greatest fear?
Nice post, Flames, I was thinking the same thing as I was scrolling down the posts and replies.
Bugs bug me, especially the flying ones. Needles make my skin crawl. Deep water has been a problem since a childhood trauma. I was reading this thread while holding my newborn son, and figured that a whole new world of fear was right under my nose. Will he just die of SIDS? Will he smother himself in the middle of the night? Etc, etc, up to, will he drink at the party and drive home drunk? But that was not my first thought, but like Wild Flames, I thought, "Will my faith ever be enough?" And now I wonder, if I'll be able to share that faith with my son, so that Christ will welcome him into the kingdom of Heaven. So many things, and like the 'End 0' the World' post, I hope for the return of our saviour, but I also hope that my faith will not find me wanting when He gets here. Fide, Jimbob |

Re: Whats your greatest fear? Jimbob, since I'm only a pre-teen thirteen year old, i'm not much on parental advice. But I think if you teach your child well, teach him about Christ, and discipline him, make sure he knows right from wrong, then he'll do ok. Anyway, I'm also sorta afraid of water, too. Man, pretty much i'm afraid of everythi... Wait a minute...I AM SPACEMAN SPIFF!! INTERPLANETARY EXPLORER EXTROARDINAIRE! I'M NOT AFRAID OF ANYTHING!! Well, the Matt side of me is afraid of capsizing on a boat...triggared by some events earlier in my childhood.

In Response to SPIFF the FEARLESSIn Response to Spiff the FearlessWhe I posted Little O' Faith, I wasn't saying that I was afraid that my faith was not real, just wanted to get that straight. I know that I am saved, and that I am in the book of life, but still my sin nature toys with my mind, and it really is scarry. I bet you are saved, but you still wonder wether or not you are right, it's just the nature of man. ![]()

Re: In Response to SPIFF the FEARLESS I have had a fear of all the "spiritual"-related fears on this thread, like Hell, not truly being saved, and being rejected by God. for the past day, I have been (I have no idea why) thinking about, what if I had to die? what would it feel like? Would I wander around as a spirit until Judgement day or will it be like sleeping and it feels like an instant? (And I have absolutely NO idea how or even why this idea came into my head. probably Satan at work) What if God wasn't real and I was just a witness to everything but couldn't interact? which brings me to a wierd thought from my messed up mind: If the one before was true, would I witness throught a computer? I really have a HUGE fear of loved ones turning their backs on me, when I go to them for help they reject me. I have an abnormal fear of large, ugly, upright standing rats the size of people attacking me. does anyone want to know why I'm scared of the dark? I saw an episode of "Wishbone" once on PBS and there were large, ugly, upright standing rats the size of people in it who were scared of the light, and whenever you were in the dark they were always areound. that freaked me out. Then I saw Jurassic park. Now I have a fear of raptors attacking me in my sleep too. I have another fear of getting eaten alive, getting tortured, killed, and bleeding a live chicken. MAN the chicken looks sooo pitiful and I always feel a *pang* inside me when I think of it, when you slice their throat and they're just there trying to cluck and breathe while their blood is all dripping out, *drip**drip**drip* and their blood is thick, too. I also have a fear of having a heart attack, and a small, very illogical fear of Wolverine from X-Men coming up to me and just stabbing me *stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab**stab* until I died. wait, what am I saying? I am INVINCIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BETTER THAN MERE MORTAL, UP RIGHT NEXT TO WINNIE THE POOH IN TOUGHNESS (winnie the pooh can fall down the grand canyon and juist rub his behind and say oh, bother and get up and walk away to the nearest honey tree)AND WITH SUPER HUMAN MIGHT, RIPS UP A REDWOOD SAYING "HA HA HA! i'M NOT SCARED OF THE DARK! HA HA HA!" *RIP**RIP**RIP**RIP**RIP* oh yeah, did I meantion a fear of going crazy?

Re: In Response to SPIFF the FEARLESS Hey, Jimbob. It is good that you are concerned with your newborn son. If you weren't, then I would worry. Just a little I would like to say as parenting is a topic that I have very strong views on. Teach your son about God, true, but don't *just* teach him about God. Many children that are raised as Christians rebel very badly because they are forced to go to church and such. Teach him about God, but also teach him respect. Show respect to him in whatever you say or do. Even if you are mad at him, show him respect. Help him to learn that it is good to respect others (not just the often false respect shown to parents). Also, teach him responsibility. As with everything, in order to teach something to a child, the best way to teach it is to do it yourself. So, if your child gets into trouble, don't blame it on something like movies or games. Instead, take the resposibility yourself for what your son does. That helps to teach a child to take responsibility for his actions. Of course, these are for a ways down the road, but they are important to remember.

Re: Whats your greatest fear? aiyah bthib... anyways, heres some more tallys... I'm scared of seaweed, and the gunk growing on the bottom of the lake (like when you're treading water and your feet get stroked by the plants... you never know whats hiding under there) actually, I'm scared of the unknown. for example, if I see a dark room, and strange sounds are coming from it, of course I'll be fr33k'd 0u7... and if there was a light on, I could see if it was a walkman or a crazy Charles Manson clone. I actually don't have fears readily available to choose from... I mean, the dark? pffsh... "god is bigger than the. boogyman... he's bigger than godzilla and the monsters on TV (oh-oh-oh) God is bigger than the. Boogyman..." yeah.
