"So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world Frodo besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring, in which case you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought."

Re: To the Ends of the Earth
"I am well, thank you, m'lord. A bit angered at a military decision made earlier this morning about tomorrow's battlefront....but, I shall get over it."
Battle plans? Legolas had heard no news of anything since he arrived here. The elf did not like being in the dark about such things, especially when it concerned them. He was completely unaware that he and Anoron were commanded to stay here and defend the home, mostly because of his own wounds. If he had been told that, there would have been an argument, a heated one. It was not as if he had not fought through pain before, he could certainly handle it.
On the field when injured, you could not stop and rest. You fought through the pain, and that was what he planed to do. Aragorn and the others knew this, perhaps that was the reason why they did not say anything to him. Ether that, or the nurse did not let them speak to him because she thought he was still asleep.
"As for me....The details of my life would bore you, I'm sure. There is nothing interesting to tell....a simple girl, who cuts her hair, and tries to survive."
He smirked as he eyed her. There was more to that, for it was too simple. There was a reason for her spark in serving in the military, for not every woman wanted to. Even some of the elven women could fight, but they did not openly join the armies and fight along side them. Legolas would make a note to himself to further inquire about her interest in weapons and fighting with the men, rather than sitting inside with the women.
“I think there is more to the simple lady that cuts her hair and tries to survive...as a soldier in war.” He said knowingly. “The details of your life would not bore me at all. In fact, they interest me..for it is not every day that I meet a woman who willingly serves under the command of a great man like Aragorn.” It was true, he did have his own armies and he could command them, but Legolas found it more appealing to fallow his friend and protect him. He was fiercely loyal, and he would not leave Aragorn alone to fight.
"Did Elrohir speak to you yet? After speaking to me, he left to find you."
If Elorhir did want to speak to him, they would have to hunt for him. Whenever the nurse would let them in, he would find that the elven prince was not there. Legolas took matters into his own hands and decided when he wanted to get up and walk, he would. He would not be caged in that one room. Slowly, he shook his head. “Nay, Anorista, he did not. But I have a feeling that you know what it is that he was going to tell me...” His brow arched and his eyes narrowed a bit, as if trying to see through her and find the answer. “Would you tell me, Anorista?” Legolas left out the part of him sneaking out of his room. She would probably think him childish and silly.

Re: To the Ends of the Earth“I think there is more to the simple lady that cuts her hair and tries to survive...as a soldier in war.” He said knowingly. “The details of your life would not bore me at all. In fact, they interest me..for it is not every day that I meet a woman who willingly serves under the command of a great man like Aragorn.” It was true, sadly enough. Many women didn't want to engage in battle and fight for their freedoms. Their men were out here - fighting and dying. Anoron could not understand why women wouldn't want to go out and fight for their men.
She did. She had.
"Did Elrohir speak to you yet? After speaking to me, he left to find you." She asked, trying to change the subject. She wasn't ready to speak of her past yet. Especially not to an elf she'd just met. Aragorn knew, but that's because he was like a father to her.
Slowly, he shook his head. “Nay, Anorista, he did not. But I have a feeling that you know what it is that he was going to tell me...” His brow arched and his eyes narrowed a bit, as if trying to see through her and find the answer. “Would you tell me, Anorista?” Legolas asked.
"Oh," She said, pausing briefly. "It is really not my place to tell you. It should come from Elrohir, or Aragorn -- since it is their decision. I'm sure they'll find you in due time." Anoron told him with a nod.
Yet the sound of a horn caught their ears; an elven horn - a calling. The horn was used to iniciate meetings; group announcements, in which Elrohir, Aragorn or Elladan would speak. Looking to Legolas, she gave a small smile and picked up her bow and quiver of arrows. "Just your luck. A gathering." She said with a nod. Anoron began to walk back through the thicket of wood, towards the main courtyard, to which all meetings were held. Legolas followed along.
When the two arrived, the courtyard was already filled with men and elves, at attention to listen to their commanders. Aragorn, Elladan and Elrohir were standing on a large balcony, which overlooked the courtyard; this way, they could be seen and heard. Legolas and Anoron stopped near the back to watch and listen.
"We have finalized plans for tomorrows defense plan!" Aragorn announced -- each time he spoke, Elrohir translated into Elvish for the elves, since some elves had poor english. "You will be split into three groups...in an attempt to surround the enemy from a triangle point. The groups shall be lead by Elrohir, Elladan, and myself!....Two leaders are being left behind - Legolas Greenleaf of the Mirkwood Realm, and Anoron of the Dunedain. They will prepare camp for our return, and watch over Imladris in our absence! Those Mirkwood sentinals who came with Prince Legolas shal stay behind also." He said.
Anoron looked at Legolas out of the corner of her eye. She knew he would be upset; furthermore, the elven sentinals from Mirkwood did not seem to happy either about being left behind, and looked back towards Legolas for help in the matter, thinking he must be able to do something.
"Those who are going out to the defense counter, please head back to your tents, and be prepared to be split into three groups. Afterwards, you leader shall come around, and brief you on the plan. That is all." Aragorn finished - Elrohir finishing his elven translation seconds afterwards.
The crowd of men and elves grumbled and talked with excitment, eagerness, nervousness, and some anger (at least, anger from those who will be staying behind with the wounded to look after the city).
"I'm sorry Legolas," Anoron said, knowing he was probably disapponited about not going. But somehow she knew Aragorn would be hearing argument from the Prince...she could see it in his eyes.

Re: To the Ends of the Earth
Legolas was not happy. He was not happy at all. He looked up at Aragorn in shock. After all of the years they had fought together, he was going to make him stay behind?! When he was with Aragorn, Legolas would let nothing happen to him. The elf did not want to leave his friend or stay behind, worrying and fretting about his best friend. For years they had known each other, since he first came to Mirkwood. Now Aragorn was deciding to make him stay behind with the rest of them to hold the city? Legolas was not going to let it be, or let is slide at all. He would find a way to be with Aragorn and ride into battle with him. Blue eyes were so intent on Aragorn, that he did not see his company, those that escaped from Mirkwood, glance back at him.
When Aragorn and Elrohir were finish, Legolas made his way through the crowds of people, weaving around bodies of elves and men. The elf pushed his way to the stairs and one hand grabbed the railing. Hoisting himself up the first step, the elf’s quick and light feet carried him up the steps toward Aragorn and Elrohir. “We have been through the worse of battles together Aragorn and now you think that you can leave me behind?!” He said, his tone rising with anger, truly upset at his call. “I have fought by your side ever since we met, and when we were together, now you think that you can simply make me stay here and worry about you?!”
Aragorn turned around to face the upset elven prince. He sighed, frowning deeply. This was the first time that the two had every really argued. They trusted each other with their lives, and until now, they always knew what the other was thinking. “Legolas please.” The ranger knew the elf had a bad temper. He was there when he and Gimli were arguing about the blindfolds in Lorien. Aragorn sighed. “I cannot risk this place falling into the hands of the enemy. You and Anoron are the only ones I know can hold it.” His voice was strong and firm. This was a clash of two stubborn heads.
“And I cannot risk losing you like I did my father! I am here to defend you and the people. If these people loose you, then how do you expect them to go on?! Their hope would be shattered if you perished, as would I. Fighting with you, I know where you are and I can try to save you.” Legolas retorted, softer so that the people could not hear him and this part of the argument, for it was personal.
“Legolas, you are wounded. We cannot risk you injuring yourself again!” Elrohir cut in.
The Mirkwood Prince turned to Elrohir. Frowning. “I would rather risk that than seeing my friends killed, or worse, not knowing what happened and it be to late, knowing that I am able bodied, despite a few stitches here and there!”
“Legolas, calm down.” Aragorn said, sighing and shaking his head. “All right. You and your company of elves can join with us...under one condition: you are to stay behind our company. That is the safest place for you to be. We could use a line of archers to defend us, that would be you. Are you satisfied now!? Do you think I want you to open your wounds again, or worse? I fear losing more people, especially my friends. When I can keep them out of harms way, then I will.”
Legolas nodded and took a deep breath. “Yes. I am. We have fought many wars together Aragorn. I have protected you, and you have protected me. Let me protect you once more, for the numbers of their armies will be out numbering ours most likely, and you will need what help you can get....both of you.” And he glanced between Elrohir and Aragorn.

Re: To the Ends of the Earth
Anoron sighed as Legolas simply walked away from her. Pausing, her green eyes shifted and watched as Legolas began to approach Aragorn and the others. Not wanting to be left out, she too began to follow wind and push through the men and elves to get to what she could already see as a heated argument. She jogged up the stairs to head the near end of the argument.
Let me protect you once more, for the numbers of their armies will be out numbering ours most likely, and you will need what help you can get....both of you.” And he glanced between Elrohir and Aragorn.
Yet where that argument ended, another was brewing to begin.
"What?!" Anoron said in disbelief, gaining the attention of Aragorn and the three elves standing by. "I argue against my own place at that warfront, only to have it be denied!...And yet, this elf says but a few angry words about your bond, and you allow him to follow?!" She asked angrily. It was unreasonable. It was unfair.
Aragorn sighed. "Anoron....I feared Legolas would react in such a way. You will suit better here - able to uphold the city until our return, which should be tomorrow night if we leave early tomorrow morn." He said, trying to calm her. "I knew Legolas wouldn't hear otherwise. He has centuries on me, and I have no place to keep him here. But you serve under me, and as your commander I order you to stay and assist the wounded, and prepare for our return." He said.
"Stay here, prepare for more wounded...fresh linen and bandages and water?!...Like some healing maid?!" She asked, her voice a bit quieter now as tears began to well in her eyes. "Legolas fights beside you because he will not be parted from you!...Why cannot there be a place for me! Holding the city is useless if it is just me here anyway...I'll be of more use to the company." She said desperately. If she WAS the only one being left behind with the recovering wounded....what good would it do to defend the city? It would be a useless fight.
Aragorn sighed and clasped Anoron's shoulder. "Please do this. Stay here, and stay safe. I will need your strength and gifts later....for this is not the only battle we shall see. It will be quick." He said. Anoron's welled eyes looked to Aragorn both sadly and angrily; her green eyes turned to give Legolas, and Elrohir the same vicious stares....before pulling away from them, and storming off. A sigh escaped Aragorns lips as he watched her go. But he would not budge on his decision to keep her in the city. Someone had to stay.
"We should go to the tentrows and seperate the men. Our time is limited, and we need everyone to know the plan by nightfall....for early tomorrow morn, we ride out." Aragorn said, heading off. He would speak with Anoron later, and try to make it up to her.

Re: To the Ends of the Earth"What?! I argue against my own place at that war front, only to have it be denied!...And yet, this elf says but a few angry words about your bond, and you allow him to follow?!"
Legolas attention turned to Anoron, who was just as enraged as well. He frowned at her words, speaking as if their bond was small. She did not know. Anoron had no idea just what they had been through together, and she was daring to say that? Legolas said nothing, for it was not his place to say anything. Aragorn took care of it. Everyone was quiet save for Aragorn and Anoron. It was clear that the two of them had a bond as well, almost fatherly. The elf looked away and stepped back, removing himself from the argument that was now at hand between the two rangers.
When Anoron walked away, the blue eyes of Legolas watched silently. He felt bad for her. She wanted to go badly, but Aragorn said no, and there was nothing more to be done. The elf bowed to Aragorn and watched him too walk away. “There is so much loyalty here...it causes arguments..” He said to Elrohir, people nodding tot he elf and dismissing himself. Legolas not simply speaking of Anoron, but himself as well. He was stubborn to the bone. Legolas did not want to lose his friend, the one man that he respected the most. Legolas followed Aragorn willingly, save for this time. Legolas was arguing with him to defend him. With a sigh, he turned to head back down the stairs to get ready for tomorrow.
However, he was quickly stopped by the nurse. She just shook her head and led the elf back to his room, knowing that he had left without her knowledge. Another sigh escaped his lips and he reluctantly followed her. When he arrived back in his room, his things were already there, they probably had been put there while he was gone, when he snuck off at least. Perhaps that was why she knew he was no in his room, when whoever had delivered his attire spoke of his absence. The elf prince sat on the bed while the nurse followed and commanded him to take off his tunic Quietly he did so and waited for her to finish. The nurse also made him drink the same disgusting tonic again.

Re: To the Ends of the Earth
Anoron had wandered around the woods and paths of Rivendell, trying to blow off her steam. How dare they! Disclude her like that. The Elf gets to go, because he is Prince and has 'centuries' of age upon Aragorn and herself?! Yes, she had no doubt their bond was strong, but Anoron's desire to see the man who'd been a father to her safe was strong ALSO. Legolas could not claim to be more devoted to him. It wasn't fair, and he couldn't place himself in such a position. Anoron had been with Aragorn day in and day out for many years; doing everything he asked of her.
The day began to pass without Anoron realizing it; she'd wandered all over the paths through the woods - faintly hearing the sounds of men and elves speaking....no doubt Aragorn and the other leaders briefing their companies for tomorrow. When Anoron's pace finally slowed, she found herself near the river again - the same river in which she'd bathed in. Though a bit more calm, Anoron was still mad deep within. She felt useless. She HATED that feeling. The ranger almost felt sick to her stomach. This was how she and her love were seperated.
Aragorn had asked Anoron to stay behind, and watch camp with a few of the other rangers and wounded. She had agreed, while her beloved rode off with Aragorn. Upon return, her beloved was no longer beside Aragorn....yet pulled on a makeshift stretcher behind. Dead. She hadn't been there to defend or look out for the one she'd loved. Anoron had been furious at Aragorn, believing it was her fault and his own - that her love, Hathûn was dead. Ever since that day, oh so many years ago, Anoron hated being left behind. She feared it.
She feared this time, Aragorn would not return. Nightfall fell quickly, and Anoron still stood - staring out into the blue, rippling waters. Glancing up, she saw again....no stars. She was in no mood to eat supper at the camp with the others....she didn't want to go back. A silent sigh escaped her lips.... followed by the sound of a twig breaking.
Tilting her head lightly to the side, Anoron's green eyes shifted, before they turned back to look at the water. "Go away." She said bitterly, yet calmly....to the figure she knew was watching her from the woods.

Re: To the Ends of the Earth
All day he had been thinking about the arguments. It was selfish of him to put so much weight on Aragorn, but he feared losing his friend. Anoron held the same emotions for Aragorn as well, that much he could tell from their own argument. In a way, he felt terrible about leaving her here alone. He did not even know her really, and already he was feeling sorry for making her stay here alone. Legolas felt that he needed to make amends with her. He say the look that she gave him earlier, full of hatred and anger. This time, instead of sneaking out, he told the nurse that had been watching him like a hawk that he was going to find someone one and talk to them, and that it was important.
Because the elf stressed that it was important, she gave him leave. Legolas felt like a child. But that was soon past him as he went off to find Anoron. Legolas had to ask around, but he finally caught up with her, she was at the river, the same place they had met. For some time he watched her. The sun had gone down and the darkness of night quickly came. Since then he had been watching her silently, and sad. Legolas shifted and moved to another tree to get closer to her. Snap! Legolas cursed silently as the twig broke beneath his foot, giving way his position. She heard him, and he sighed. There went the idea of watching her. The elf was not sure what to say to her exactly, as if words could solve this.
“Forgive me...Anorista..” Said the familiar voice of Legolas Greenleaf. Carefully he stepped toward her, not sure what her reaction would be. She was still upset, and she had every right to be. He would have had their positions been switched. It was never a great feeling to feel useless. In some way, he still felt that. Aragorn and Elrohir were going to leave him behind as well because of his injuries. He was not going to have that, she he argued his way in. A valid point, but there was nothing that he could do for her. “I cannot go away.” Legolas continued. “I see your pain...you offered me kind words when I was upset...new let me return the offer..” He said gently, knowing and preparing for harsh words and for her to story off. That was what he expected.

Anoron sighed. "Legolas..." She said, seeming even more exhasperated now that he wasnt going to leave. "There is nothing you can say; this doesn't concern you." She said, glancing at him, before looking back to the river. "You got your wish...you're going with them. You do not have to sit idly by while the ones you care about go off to fight." She said bitterly, yet sadness lacing in her voice. For a while, Anoron believed it had nothing to do with watching the camp....yet maybe....Aragorn was realizing she had no place fighting. Maybe he was thinking ahead - if they won, they would need to start over, and rebuild some societies. Women would need to start producing children.
She winced at the thought and stared harder into the river, not allowing any more of her angry tears to well up. To hell, she'd be doing that. Not her.

Re: To the Ends of the Earth"There is nothing you can say; this doesn't concern you."
He frowned. “Forgive me Anorista...but it does. I was to stay with you, and now that is not happening...perhaps I should have considered your feelings...and I wish that I knew about this before now.” Legolas felt responsible for her argument. Had he not talked his way into going, it would not have happened. Legolas did not ant to say here though, and he was not sorry for that. Aragorn was his friend, and he would go with him to the end, side by side. Legolas glanced over to the waters, sighing again.
Perhaps there was not anything he could say to her, but he would apologize. “There might not be anything that I can say...but I feel that I owe you an apology. I am sorry.” And he said it. That bit was over. Whether she believed him or not was up to her, but at least he had apologized for any inconvience.
"You got your wish...you're going with them. You do not have to sit idly by while the ones you care about go off to fight."
Legolas nodded slightly. “That is true...but it is one battle...I sure that he will leave me here and take you next time....”
Turning back to her he smiled slightly. “It is good to know that Aragorn has many people so loyal to protect him....it makes me feel better knowing that he is safe with certain people...thought it would be hard.” Legolas was not going anywhere yet. Instead, he sat down on the bank of the river, and looked up into the skies. “They will come out one day...” He said, gazing up into the dark sky. The elf was referring to the stars, and the beautiful sun sets. There had been no sign of the sun since the Dark Lord gained power once more.
Blue eyes turned to gaze into the cool water. He dipped his hand in it, creating shapes and ripples in the waters. For now...the stars reside in the waters and in our hearts. “I do not know about you, but I will sing the day that you can see the heavens clearly.” He said with a slight chuckle, hoping to lighten the mood and take Anoron’s mind off of the coming war.

"Indeed..." She said with a sigh, realizing that Legolas was not about to leave. Her eyes strayed from the waters, and over to the elf, pausing. "You wish to talk, princeling?" She asked, retorically, moving back and leaning against a tree. "Then....what of your love?...Where is she? Who is she?" Anoron asked strongly. If Legolas wanted to speak, so be it, she'd shoot out things to speak of. But Anoron refused to believe that an elf as breathtaking as the one before her, had no love. Had no time for love. She knew he probably had many women who fell to his feet...it was only a question of which one he chose.

"You wish to talk, princeling? Then....what of your love?...Where is she? Who is she?"
If she was trying to anger him or make him uncomfortable so he would leave, she would have to try harder than that. Legolas turned back to look at her, smiling. He was not ashamed to say that he did not have one. Though some woman might have found him handsome, they never wanted to anything other than look, at least, they appeared so. Perhaps they wanted him to chase them, which he would not do. “I do not have one, so I cannot tell you who she is, for I do not even know myself.”
Smirking, he patted the spot beside him on the ground. “I promise I will not bite you.” He laughed, still grinning as if he knew something she did not. People did not know that elves had a mischievous side to them. Elves could be play and cunning as well. “Now it is my turn to ask you, what of your love? Where is he and who is he?” Legolas canted his head to the side.
It was a beautiful night, save for the fact that there was evil coming. He pulled his long legs toward his chest and began to take off his boots. The water felt good against the skin of his hand. Besides, he had not had a good swim in a while. And he was going into battle tomorrow, he would need to be ready for anything. He might as well enjoy this night while it lasted. Once his boots were removed, he set them beside him on the black and turned back to her, waiting for her answer eagerly. Legolas found it difficult to believe that someone like her was not already sought after by many men. She might even have a husband for all he knew.

Anoron looked to him dully. Should she even tell him? Should she lie? Perhaps not - if Legolas so desired the truth he could always ask Aragorn. And she'd rather not have the two of them speaking about her behind her back. "He's dead." She said simply, her eyes watching as he looking to the river eagerly; he'd taken off his boots, which meant he was probably looking to go for a swim. "For many years now....and not a day goes by that I do not think about him, at least once." Anoron said hurtfully. Her green eyes trailed up and down Legolas' form, making no point to hide her wandering gaze subtly.
He was a beautiful elf, and no doubt desired by many - whether he knew it or not. Anoron had even caught herself thinking somewhat lustful thoughts about the elf, when alone in her tent or drifting off to sleep. For many months now, Anoron had been the lustquest for many males here, being she was the only female. She never understood that lustful desire, since she'd never felt it. But now she felt it towards this blonde elf; toned body, runners muscle, strong stamina, fair to gaze upon, moreso than any other elf she'd seen.
"Consider yourself lucky," She said, sitting by her tree, still away from Legolas and not heeding his invitation to sit closer. "You have not yet tasted the bitter flavor of love-lost....or heart pain." Anoron said, eyes meeting his briefly, before she looked back to the water, and crossed her arms over her chest. She didn't used to be this way. Believe it or not, Anoron used to have fun. She was light spirited, merry, and saw the world as an adventure.
But loosing Hirùn struck something within her. She became reclusive and defensive - she began to bury herself in work, and maps, and quests...doing ever assisgnment she could get from Aragorn. Even he noticed, and tried to speak with her about overpushing herself, but Anoron paid him no heed and snapped at him with words.

Re: To the Ends of the Earth"He's dead. For many years now....and not a day goes by that I do not think about him, at least once."
Legolas frowned. It was hard to lose someone, for they could never be replaced. There was not a day that went by that he did not think about his mother, and now his father. Legolas knew love, a love for one’s family. Legolas never did openly search for love, for he did not think that a woman would want to put up with him. Legolas loved adventures and something new. Not to mention he was a prince. Women tended to try to tame their loved ones. Legolas had seen it before, and he did not want it to happen to him. Come what may. Legolas looked down. “I am sorry, Anorista...I know it must be painful for you...” He said softly, truly knowing her pain, perhaps not in the same form, but he knew of love and loss.
"Consider yourself lucky...You have not yet tasted the bitter flavor of love-lost....or heart pain."
Her words made the elf turn around fully now, facing her. Slowly the elf stood and walked over to her. Legolas then sat down across from her on his legs, just as she had down the day they met. His blue eyes gazed into hers, seeing the sadness in her heart and soul. “You are wrong, Anorista..” Legolas said. He knew of losing a loved one..more than once. “I have tasted the bitter flavor or love-lost. I have lost my mother, father, and grandfather–who I never met. I loved them with all my heart. And now that they are gone..that is a loss. My heart cries for them. Both of us are lucky, Anorista. Here we are, alive and well. Time and time again we could have died...but we have another purpose. It was their time to leave us. In a way, they are the lucky ones, for they do not have to endure pain.”
He smiled slightly and moved closer to her, kneeling beside her. The elf placed his hand on her shoulder. “But I have friends to help me through that pain. You do as well, Anorista. Do not think that you are alone, for you’re not.” Nodding to her, he stood. Legolas indeed was going to go for a swim, for he had not in a long time. There was no time to rest and enjoy nature these days. They were too busy trying to defend it. Walking back to the river, Legolas pulled the tunic over his head and laid it on the ground beside his boots. Legolas turned his eyes back to Anoron. For some reason he could not place, he could not take his gaze away from her. She was a beautiful woman, very beautiful. The elf never really thought about love. If women were throwing themselves at him, Legolas did not notice them or their actions. He was dumb to that.
Offering her a gentle smile, Legolas chuckled. “I do not know about you, but I indeed to let the stress of all of this wash away. If you bathed in these waters, then they must be refreshing. I have not been able to enjoy nature for some time...and I miss it dearly.” And with that, Legolas undid his breeches, whether she was looking or not. Most elves were not ashamed of their bodies, or acted strangely. Most men invented that law. Perhaps it was because when a man saw a woman naked, strange thoughts over took them and they changed completely. It would be a lie if Legolas said that he was not attracted to a woman’s body, but that did not mean that he would not give them the decency they wanted.
Legolas sat down on the ground and pulled his breeches off; they too were placed with the rest of his attire. The elf slid into the river, already loving the coolness and the clean feeling of it. He had almost forgotten the pleasurable feeling of nature’s gifts. The water came up to his waist where he stood. It went deeper, but Legolas had not one that far yet. “You are welcome to join me, Anorista. You have my word that I will respect you, as a man should a woman.” He said smirking playfully. When he was younger, children swam together bare, male or female. Legolas would be a gentleman in the waters as well as on land, and not make lustful moves toward her, no matter how much he thought about her.

He smiled slightly and moved closer to her, kneeling beside her. The elf placed his hand on her shoulder. “But I have friends to help me through that pain. You do as well, Anorista. Do not think that you are alone, for you’re not.” Nodding to her, he stood. Anoron watched him; yes, he knew the pain of a lost family. As did she, for hers were done and dead. Yet love was quite different....a different kind of pain.
Legolas indeed was going to go for a swim, for he had not in a long time. Walking back to the river, Legolas pulled the tunic over his head and laid it on the ground beside his boots. She inhaled a bit at the sight of his pale, flawless skin...smooth and well toned upper body. Not beefy muscle; he was rather skinny, but had a defined runners muscle. Anoron looked back up to his face, trying to keep her eyes off his form. Legolas turned his eyes back to Anoron, offering her a gentle smile, Legolas chuckled.
Legolas sat down on the ground and pulled his breeches off; they too were placed with the rest of his attire. Anoron inhaled quite sharply, and exhaled slowly as she took the bare elf in at his glory; toned, beautiful form. She'd never seen anything so beautiful - no man had such a body nor grace that this elf did. She was left breathless at the sight of it. Legolas seemed to think nothing of it. But then again, he had no reason to be....being flawless himself. The elf slid into the river, already loving the coolness and the clean feeling of it. The water came up to his waist where he stood. It went deeper, but Legolas had not one that far yet.
"You are welcome to join me, Anorista. You have my word that I will respect you, as a man should a woman.” He said smirking playfully.
Anoron snapped her eyes back to look at him, a slight flush coming to her cheeks, wondering if he'd noticed. But his tone of voice...it sounded as if perhaps he did know, or he'd seen the look in her eyes. "N-no, thank you." She said quietly, drawing her eyes down and forcing herself to stop staring. It was rude, and may make Legolas uncomfortable. Though she was not joining him - Anoron did not move from her spot. She wasn't ready to go back to camp yet.
But she forced herself to keep her eyes down; her hands trailing over the smooth grass as she picked at it nervously.

Re: To the Ends of the Earth"N-no, thank you."
Legolas grinned. He had a feeling that she would say something to that effect. Wading over tot he blank, Legolas crossed his arms and rested them on the short, the rest of him still in the water. The elf watched her turn her eyes to the ground. “You could use a bit of cheering up. Sitting there is not very fun, at least, I would not think so.”
She was shy or so it seemed, perhaps she was not use to someone simply taking off their clothes without a second thought. She was among men. Legolas had thought that she would be use to male companionship, with or without clothes on. There was something there in Anoron though that blocked him out. A wall. Legolas knew if for he had one too. Elves were keen on masking their pain before others, simply trying to hold their head up and look strong and wise for others. Even he was guilty of that.
“If I...make you uncomfortable, please do tell me.” He said, before he splashed her with the water from the river. She was not that far off from the river, some water would still reach her. A playful grin settled on his face. Anoron was too tense in his opinion. He did not know why, but he suspected that it was because she would be staying here. Legolas did not want her upset, and he did feel as if he had a part in her anger. But now was the time to put aside the anger and actually have some kind of enjoyment, even a harmless banter between friends. Both of them could use some joy at this time.

The elf watched her turn her eyes to the ground. “You could use a bit of cheering up. Sitting there is not very fun, at least, I would not think so.” He said teasingly. Anoron sighed. She had seen naked males before - living in a camp with men, it was hard not to. But they were just men. Legolas was a beautiful elf; she began to feel silly, really, since he probably knew the effect he had on her.
“If I...make you uncomfortable, please do tell me.” He said, before he splashed her with the water from the river. She was not that far off from the river, some water would still reach her. A playful grin settled on his face. He did know, and that confirmed it.
Anoron's pride too over and she looked to him, unamused. "You don't make me uncomfortable, Legolas, Your just like every other male." She said, disregarding any feelings of lust. Standing, she walked over to the side of the bank, facing away from him a bit...and a little ways down from him. Anoron began to undress. Fine, she'd join, if only to stop him from teasing her. Yet as she undressed to remove her clothing and expose pale, smooth skin - Anoron faced away from him.
She tried to pretend Legolas wasn't there. It would only make her self conscious. He'd probably seen dozens and thousands of beautiful elven girls, bathing in rivers, or even sharing his bed on lonely nights. She felt inadaquate. Anoron already knew he thought her odd in appearance on account of her hair. Once she was undressed, Anoron exhaled a slow breath, and stepped into the cool river; still tilting herself away from Legolas, until she was emerged in the water, up to her breasts.

Although he did not say anything in regards to her comment, Legolas knew that he hit a bump of her pride. The else only smiled at her as she stood from her place at the tree and moved toward the bank, away from him. Finally, she began to undress, her back to him. Whether she thought so or not, Legolas considered her the most beautiful human he had ever scene. Sure, he had seen beautiful elven women in his life, but that was a whole different thing. Elves and men were not the same, through they all could die in battle and feel emotions, humans had a different beauty, it was different than elves. But at this moment, Legolas thought her to he the prettiest woman he had ever scene, and it was not just because of her appearance. Anoron had what some women did not: she was like an amazon.
Amazons were woman who were beautiful, but they were warriors. He had herd the tales of Amazons when he was a child. The problem was he had never seen one in person, and he thought them to be nonexistent these days. However, here was Anoron, nothing short of a womanly figure, but with the heart of a warrior. The elf smiled as he watched her removed the clothes from her body, revealing her given beauty, what she had been born with. Legolas was stunned. He stared as she stepped into the water. Legolas knew that she probably heard it from others before him, but she was beautiful, breath-taking. No elven maiden could compare. He pushed off from the back and drifted toward her. The prince tried not to let his eyes wonder, for he did not want to make her any more uncomfortable that she probably already was. He swallowed, and tried to keep his desirable thoughts to himself.
“I’m glad I don’t make you uncomfortable...for that would not be a pleasure feeling for me.” Smiling, he splashed her again playfully before he submerged underwater. The elf was even grace full under the water. It was dark, simple because the night sky was out. It was hard to see anything really, shave for moon light. A ways from her, Legolas surfaced and pushed some of his wet golden locks of hair out of his face and rested his gaze on her, still smirking. “How long has it been since you actually had fun like this in the water?” He winked, swimming back toward her. The elf kept his distance though, should she want her space. Anoron was simply unpredictable, he never knew what she would do next. A sign that she did have the elven blood in her veins.

She rolled her eyes a bit. "Maybe when I was FOUR, and still amused by such childish games," She shot at him. Without delaying for another moment, Anoron lept over to him; placing her hands on the top of his golden head, and dunked him beneath the water. He wanted to play? Fine. She'd give in....if only for a little while.

Re: To the Ends of the Earth"Maybe when I was FOUR, and still amused by such childish games,"
Legolas was about to comment, but he could not get another word out before she leapt at him and dunked him under the water. He was slightly surprised. If she did not like childish games, then why had she dunked him? Legolas soon surfaced and opened his eyes, staring at her . “Just because you are older does not mean that you have to stop playing games. And I am much older than you.” He said, smiling.
Perhaps she was actually fighting herself. Whatever the reason, she was trying not to be relaxed. Wrapping an arm around her waist, the elf lifted her up and tossed her into the water. Legolas was strong, he was an elf after all. He laughed and backstroke away from her. Whether she would admit it or not, she was having some sort of fun. If not, they why was she even in the water with him?
“Admit it, you still are amused by childish games!” He said through laugher as he circled her in the water. His golden locks of hair had darkened due to the water. It clung to his shoulders and his back. The water was cool and refreshing to him, and already he could feel some of his sadness and anger float away. Legolas was relaxing himself. Again, the elf splashed her with water. But then he was gone. The elf had gone under water, and lurking somewhere. It was not until he grabbed her ankle and tugged her under that she knew where he had gone. Then like a fish, he was gone, popping up tot eh surface behind where she had been.

Legolas soon surfaced and opened his eyes, staring at her . “Just because you are older does not mean that you have to stop playing games. And I am much older than you.” He said, smiling.
"Yes, older...and more immature." She said back to him. Perhaps she was actually fighting herself. Whatever the reason, she was trying not to be relaxed. Wrapping an arm around her waist, the elf lifted her up and tossed her into the water. Legolas was strong, he was an elf after all. She let out a slight scream and disappeared under the water for a moment, before resurfacing. He laughed and backstroke away from her.
“Admit it, you still are amused by childish games!” He said through laugher as he circled her in the water. His golden locks of hair had darkened due to the water. It clung to his shoulders and his back.
She shook her head. "I'll admit nothing to the likes of you." She said darkly with a small smile. Again, the elf splashed her with water. But then he was gone. The elf had gone under water, and lurking somewhere. It was not until he grabbed her ankle and tugged her under that she knew where he had gone. Anoron's cry was cut off by her mouth filling with water as she sunk under, then pushed herself back up when he released her ankle. She coughed and sputtered. Then like a fish, he was gone, popping up to the surface behind where she had been.
Turning, she looked to him angrily, yet a small competitive smile upon her lips. "I know what your trying to do and it won't work." She said knowingly. Raising her hands, she slapped them across the water and splashed him, before wading to get out of the water and back to shore. Yet she heard his splashing following her, with his songlike laughter. Glancing behind, she saw he was indeed trying to catch up with her.
"Legolas, no!...Don't, I'm serious!" She said, trying to be serious, but couldn't help but laugh a bit in nervousness. Yet he caught her, just before she got out of the water, and tackled her to the shoreline; there was shallow water there, but as Anoron was forced to the sandy shoreline, part of her was still in water, but her head and upper body were out of it. She gave a slight laugh as she squirmed beneath him -- yet soon stopped, and went pale with a blush. She realized their tackling position; as he was now above her, their skin touching and bodies met. She intook deep breaths - her eyes trailing over his face and to his eyes.
Nervousness once again overtook her. "Please, get off," She ordered, sitting up and gently shoving him away and off her. The playfullness had been fun until they'd gotten to close for comfort and nervous arousal had taken place of merriment. His skin had been as soft as she imagined it would be; his torso lean and strong. As she reached her small bundle of clothes after scrambling onto shore, Anoron let out a sigh and began to dress. She never should have gotten into the water. For some reason....even after all these years, she felt like she was betraying Hinûn.
