Celebration
The evening sky was painted with purple and blue colours, which indicated night was near. Pink still stripped in the sky, giving it luminous textures. The wind was low and calming, and the clouds were few; clear. It was a beautiful night.
Tourches were lit along the path towards the home of Thranduil. Elves filed down the path in pairs; dressed in fine elven gowns and garb. Others were just arriving my horse. It was a very formal engagement indeed. The King's youngest son, Legolas, was celebrating his birthday. Though this celebration was mostly on the request of Thranduil, rather than his son. Not much was known about the prince, for he kept mostly to himself. Attracting the eyes of fair maidens from afar, while really having no interest.
Anorista escorted her father towards the king's home. She did not wish to come at all, but her father Garîn insisted. He was a lord on the high council of Mirkwood; attending many arrangements with Thranduil. They were quite close. But Anorista had no interest in these formal engagements. Few friends did she have. Reading, riding, or traveling suit her best.
Maidens bustled by; some pairs bearing gifts for the son of Thranduil. Anorista set her gift on the large table with the others. Her father once again took her arm and they headed further down the hall into the great ballroom.

Re: Celebration
"LEGOLAS!!!" The king roared out as his son flew down the hall in his playtime attire. It was a humourous scene. The father chasing the son down the long halls. "LEGOLAS GET BACK HERE!!!!" Legolas still ran. Skidding around as he turned a corner sharply he dashed outside, like a blur to them as he whizzed by, followed by an angry Thranduil.
The chase was a long one, seeing as both son and father were quick. But it all ended with thranduil Grabbed Legolas by his waist and threw him over his shoulder. Marching back in. Legolas sighing and didn't resist. His father's grip was too strong. So he let himself be carried back in. A frown was on his face.
Thranduil mumbled as he walked back up the stairs. Seeing his friend he smiled somewhat and stopped to talk to him, with a child over his shoulder. "Garîn.." He said smiling. "Welcome." Thranduil looked down to the small child. "This must be Anorista..."

Re: Celebration
Anorista curtsied towards Thranduil--just as her father had told her two. Mae Govannen... She said polietly, yet quietly. She was quite shy around all these grown ups. Nere where there any other children to be seen. Yet her father insisted she come. Her eyes drifted up to see a boy over Thranduil's shoulder. The king laughed and set his son down; gripping his shoulder tightly making sure he won't get away.
Anorista, this is my son, Legolas. He set his son down in front of her. Legolas, this is Anorista. Lord Garîn's daughter. She's about your age, you know. A little younger.

Re: Celebration
Legolas stared at her curiously. He didn't know her. "Legolas..." His father warned. Legolas Looked up to his father and scowled at him. But Thranduil nudged Legolas to say something. Sighing Legolas looked back to Anorista. "...hello.." He mumbled.
"Legolas....." His father growled.
"I'm sorry...Hello Anorista.." Legolas a little more politer. All he wanted to was go out in teh woods. But nooooo, his father HAD TO make him get ready for his birthday. He didn't know who half of them were anyways. And all they would do is pinch his cheeks and say happy birthday. He was turning 400. A lovely age, but still a child. Legolas appear to be what an 8 year old human would. the youth in his face was clear. Legolas Looked back up to this father, then back to Anorista.

Re: Celebration
Anorista nodded to Legolas polietly. Father, may I go out for a walk? She asked; there was an eager tone to her voice, yet begging. I don't wish to be here.
Now, now Anorista. Her father warned. You did not wish the Prince a happy birthday.
Anorista sighed and looked to Legolas. Happy birthday.
After, she looked back to her father. He rolled his eyes slightly and nodded. I want you back inside in an hour. He warned.

Re: Celebration"Thank you..." Legolas said then looked to his father. "Father...can I g-"
"NO." Thranduil said sternly. "YOU have to get ready. Your party will be in an hour." Thranduil Began to drag his son back to his room to get ready.
"It does not take me 60 minutes to get dressed!!!!" Legolas yelled trying to pull away.
"No...it takes you 60 minutes to GET to your room to GET dressed" Thranduil snapped as the two rounded to corner to Legolas' room. The servants helped bathe, and dress a wild child Legolas. He hated this. He could dress himself. He didn't need all these people here. WHAT WAS HE A CAT?! He growled as the lady combed his hair. He squirmed.
"Legolas if you do NOT SIT STILL!" She said but the prince did not listen. He hated getting his hair combed. He hated get pampered. "OW!" Legolas screamed as he rubbed his head, but the lady just pushed his hand away and continued to fix his hair. She had popped him on the head with the comb.

Re: Celebration
As Anorista began to head outside, she passed by a table full of food. There were small cakes, fruit, wine, and anything else that was a delight for Elven children. Since her father rarely let her have sweets, Anorista took a small sweetcake, and hid it as she headed towards the back door which led to the gardens.

Re: Celebration
After the ordeal of getting ready, which was like fighting a bear, Thranduil dragged his son out to the gardens where the recreations would bow. The elves who were already there smiled as the prince and king entered. Like he thought, the elder elves came over to wish his a happy birthday, and pinched his cheeks. His cheeks were red. After they went away, tot alk with others, Legolas slipped off to the gardens. Rubbing his cheeks. "ow..." He muttered.
He walked through the gardens and found a stick. Something to do! He smiled adn picked up the stick. He began to spar with an imaginary opponent. Making the sound effects.

Re: Celebration
Anorista came around the corner. She heard noises. It sounded as if someone were in a struggle. Fearing to look around the corner, she gathered her courage. Yet the sight she saw was not a frightful one. It was Legolas. Sparring with....himself? Making additional noises to illustrate realism.
She came around the corner laughing. He stopped when seeing her, but she couldn't help but laugh. Fighting orcs? You look dreadfully silly fighting air, you realize. She smiled.

Legolas frowned. "At least I don't act all prissy. I'm a warrior! And I'm fighting orcs to protect you! Look out!" He said as he grabbed her wrist and pulled her behind him.He pretended to block an attack. Then Legolas put the stick at his stomach, pretending he was stabbed. "ugh...ah..." He acted. Falling to the ground he looked at her. "Farewell my lady...uh..." Then, he died. A smile on his face as he started to laugh. "You know...you are fun.." He smiled innocently as he sat up. The sword, or stick, at his side.

Re: Celebration
Anorista tried to hide her laugh at this foolish elf. I was not braught up to be fun. I was braught up to be proper and well-mannered.
She curtsied to him and smiled. Walking over to a small bush, she smelled the flowers which grew there. Beautiful white lillies. Anorista's favorite.

Legolas arched a brow and stood. "phfft...that's like girls. They act all prissy...and don't know how to have fun..." He looked around and found a tree. Smiling he looked up it. It was very tall. "Hmmmm..." He grabbed a branch and pulled himself up in it. He started to scale it easily. He sat on a branch and looked down at Anorsita, was was far down. "I bet you never even get dirty.."

Re: Celebration
I bet you never even get clean! She snapped back, the way little kids do. She picked a flower, and turned her back to him, and continued to walk through the garden paths. You'll see when your older. Your going to be king. You need manners. Order. Especially when you marry.

Legolas sneered and climbed back down fast. He jumped down and landed infront of her. "I'm not going to be king. I don't want to. And I'm not getting married either. I have order...you don't know it. You haven't seen me...so there..." He frowned and crossed his arms in a pouting way.

Re: CelebrationDon't be such an orc. She said to him teasingly. You don't know me either! I'm only like this in front of my father you know! And other elders! So don't call me prissy!
She began to storm off, her head held high. Anorista certainly didn't think much of this prince at the moment. Boys. She mumbled.

Re: Celebration"Girls..." he mumbled then jerked his head up. "LEGOLAS!!!!!!" Uh oh. His father. He dashed off pass Anorista. He grabbed her hand and puulled her with him. Legolas dived down into a hole and put a hand over her mouth to silence her. He wacthed as his father walked by.

Re: Celebration
Anorista tried to scream in protest, but Legolas held her mouth closed and her body in place. She stopped and heard Thranduil pass by. Slowly Legolas let her go. Both children poked their heads over the edge of the hole and watched as Thranduil soon disappeared.
She shook her head. Boys. Don't even know how to hide right. She scoffed. I have a treehouse. My dad built it for me. It's close to here....but it's in the woods.
Anorista looked both ways before dashing out towards the woods and off path. Coming? She called back. Or scared of the woods at night? Laughing, she continued on.

Re: Celebration"I'm not afraid!" He said proudly as he followed her. "And I know how to hide. In the lands. I'm the warrior here.." Legolas exclaimed.
He looked around the woods. He had never been out this time at night. He smiled. This was fun! An adventure! He was in.

Re: Celebration
After a few moments of running, Anorista stopped at a large tree. It was almost like a large willow; branches drooping down with many leaves. A few moments afterwords, Legolas appeared at her side. A small vine hung down from the tree. Anorista pulled on it, and a small wooden-rope ladded unfolded own. Smiling, she began to climb the ladder; which was pieces of wood, tied together with rope.
She reached an upper branch and walked along it before coming to a treehouse. It was fairly large, yet only large enough to fit maybe three grown Elves. Many pillows were scattered about, along with blankets and books. She came here often on her own.

Legolas scaled the rope ladder and followed her. He looked around in awe. It was...large. And beatiful. He smiled then looked around. "Pillows...? Wow...it's nice.." He said to her smiling wide.

Re: CelebrationI come up here a lot. She said, forcing a smile. Normally I don't bring Elves here.....but I thought you could use a little escape from your own party.
Anorista began to straighten up some of the books and try to make the treehouse look a little more presentable.
