Re: Celebration
Legolas put it on and looked up. "What's all that about...." He said as the commotion in the streets reached his ears. Legolas stood. He was certainly taller. And more muscular then when he was younger. Many many years passed since he had seen Anorista. He missed her. Sighing he walked towards the commotion. He saw Nydinor. "Not surprising..." He said. Nydinor was always trying to flirt with girls.

Then Legolas saw someone. She looked Familiar. Curious he walked a little closer. Anorista. He smiled and walked over to her, but Nydinor blocked his path. Nydinor smiled as he looked at the prince. "Another fight eh? What rat knawed at your face..." He said laughing.

Legolas' fist were clentched. "Shut up. What snake bit your ass...." He said venomously. With enraged Nydinor.

"You little brat!" And with that he leaped at Legolas. Legolas was known to be in so many fights. Some because they teased him about the bracelet he wore, that was the gift from Anorista, other because the girls liked him for his looks. The two fought and rolled around for the upper hand. Finally, it ended.

"Brat..." Nydinor said as he cupped his face. Legolas had won. Legolas was not fat, nay, he was very lean and lithe. With most likely helped with his winning the fights. He was quick.

Re: Celebration
Anorista watched them fight, and wanted to break it up, but kept her distance. A few other girls had gathered to watch. Most giggling and speaking about Legolas flirtatiously.

Soon it was over, and both Nydinor and Legolas stood--staring each other down and slowly moving apart. Anorista looked to Legolas. He looked like he'd been in about three fights today already. Though still fair he looked, his nose was bleeding, and his cheek was red. His garb had quite a lot of dirt on it to.

Come on. She said, taking his hand and leading him from the square. Anorista took him to a small stream which bordered between the residental and the woods. No one was around, but the sounds of the street could still be heard.

Anorista sat herself down near the stream. Go on and wash up. Your father would murder you if he knew you were getting into fights. Your lucky I don't murder you.

Re: Celebration
"Well it's nice to see you too...." He teased as he dipped his hands into the cool stream and washed the blood and dirt from his face. Sighing he dryed his face off with his shirt and turned to Anorista again. "It's good to see you again. I know my father would murder me...no more then whta I would expect from him..." He smiled and pulled her into a hug.

"You wouldn't murder me...your my friend...and I would HOPE you wouldn't.." He said laughing. As they pulled apart he looked her up and down. SHe was taller, more beautful then ever. He smiled to her as their gaze met once more in many years.

Re: Celebration
I wouldn't murder you...unless you deserved it. Otherwise, what kind of friend would I be? Anorista smiled and sat back down. She looked to the main city one more before turning her gaze to the ground. The Autumn Festival is tonight. My father insisted I come back here to celebrate it.

Her eyes pulled up to Legolas for a moment, but looked down. I don't suppose your going.... Anorista said, blush coming to her cheeks while she played with some grass.

"Phfft.." He muttered as he sat beside her. "Where there is a celebration of somesort...I'll be there. My father drags me to them....though I do not fancy them...the girls are always......staring at me..like this.." He said as he widened his eyes slighty and stared at her' imatating the girls that gawked at him.

Legolas laughed and looked at her normally again. "Scary...VERY scary..." He said smiling.

Re: Celebration
Anorista laughed at his imitation. That look is quite familiar with me also. But at least your father isn't at the stage of arranging 'suitors' for you. The man is obsessed with finding me a life partner, and I'm only 1000. He has no desire to ask me what I want or when....it's like he's decided my life for me.

She shook her head, and looked back to Legolas.

Well I'm glad I'll know someone there. She said, giving a small smile. Though as always I will most likely sneak out and go back to my treefort. Do you remember?

"How could I forget..." Legolas smiled and pulled up his sleeve to about mid arm. The bracelet still on his wrist. "I haven't taken it off since..." He smiled.

"I often dreamed of that place...with you there. I missed you...you were my first friend...." He looked to her and scooted closer.

Re: Celebration
And you mine. She said. Anorista took the necklace pendant in her hand, and held it for a moment. Though I'm embarrassed to say, not much has changed. My studies keep me busy, as well as these sorts of celebrations and travelling. But I long to leave.....strike out on my own.

Anorista had thoughts of becoming a female elven ranger...but it was frowned upon, and thought impossible by most people. Even she knew it sounded a little absured....but still. She never told anyone of her desire, and chose sneaking around it. Anorista feared being laughed at or embarrassed by her silly fantasy.

Re: Celebration
"A Ranger eh?" He smiled. Fancy that. SHe wasn't a pissy elf like most girls were. She wanted to explore, while others wanted to stay at him and bed men. Legolas nodded. "It sounds wonderful. I was hoping to...well..I don't know. Explore the lands, hopefully with a girl at my side. It would get lonely...and sometimes, being alone isn't the best option. But if I must, then I have no problem with it."

Legolas took her hand and smiled. "I hope your fantasy comes true..."

Re: Celebration
Anorista blushed greatly. Is it that obvious? She asked, giving a nervous laugh. She'd hoped to keep her little fantasy secret and unobvious....but Legolas could see through her. Did that mean everyone else could?

Well, She said, standing a feeling a little embarrassed. I best go get ready for the festival. Hopefully, I'll find you there.

Re: Celebration
Legolas stood and nodded a bit saddened. "I hope to...see you there..." Bowing he walked back to the house, to change and ready for the festive night.

He sighed. With his hands in his lap he sat at one of the chairs and watched them dance. He REALLY started to hate parties. He looked around, his eyes searching for her. Anorista.

Re: Celebration
Anorista pushed her way through the crowd; getting bumped and pushed on occasion--though not by accident. She was mostly bullied by other girls. Whenever she came here. They knew Anorista was friends with Legolas, and it made them jealous.

Finally, she reached the sidelines of the square; away from where the dancing and merrymaking was taking place. A servent passed by her with a few goblets of wine and offered her one. Smiling, she accepted.

Her eyes drifted around, trying to find Legolas--or at least get a glimpse of him. Finally she saw him. He was sitting at the high-table, with other Lords and his father. The prince looked slightly unhappy, and refused dances when asked by she-elves.

Re: Celebration
Legolas' keen eyes spoted her finally. He smiled and stood. Hs father was too busy talking with the other Councilmen to notice him. He walked down the slight incline and over to Anorista. He smiled. "Good to see you here...you look lovely.." He said smiling. His eyes roamed her body. Lifting his gaze to her once more he offered his hand. "Will you dance with me?"

Re: Celebration
Anorista smiled and blushed. I'm not exactly the best dancer. Your taking a large risk. She laughed.

Her eyes drifted past him to the other couples as they all danced gracefully. Some of the girls had taken to glaring even more at her now, since Legolas was extending an invitation to her to dance.

Re: Celebration
Legolas smiled and bow. Taking one of her hands in his, while his other hand rested on her waist. "Don't worry....neither am I..." He chuckled and the two started to dacne. They were graceful, for being their first time dancing. The twirled around the room, her dress fluttering in the breeze, and their feet floating over the floor. But sadly, the song ended as it grew late into the night.

The time came wher the two had to say goodbye once more. He kissed her on the cheek and hugged her. the last hug they would share until many decades later...

Re: Celebration
Time had passed. Seasons changed. Elves grew older.

When Anorista returned to Mirkwood, she was considered an adult elf. She had managed to break away from her family, and become what she wanted. An Elven-ranger. Of course this did not sit well with Garîn. Each time she was able to visit home, her father immediately made her change into appropriate clothing; dresses. And make her use proper manners. She hated this of course, yet it was the only way in which she could see her family. A few days was normally the limitation for Anorista, before she and her father began arguing. She would leave once more.

Her hood was drawn and her face shadowed. As she came to the square, there seemed to be a sort of gathering. Elves were in a circle, and Anorista thought she heard the sound of arrows and bows. A competition?

As she came through the crowd, she saw old faces. Faces of girls who had teased her...and now had probably forgotten all about her. She saw familiar elders and others she used to know. But as she looked up--there he was.

The Prince of Mirkwood. Legolas. Her childhood friend. He was in the bow competition. What was more, he had won. The judge had just announced him the winner, and the spectators cheered. Anorista wanted to speak with him....she'd missed him, and thought of him often when she travelled alone.

Her one true friend. A few hundred feet away, and she could not speak to him. She was afraid to....because of what she had become. Anorista shook her head. No doubt he'd forgotten about her anyway.

She pushed her way back out through the crowd, not wanting to confront this old friend yet. He was having a praised moment--she did not wish to interrupt him.

Adjusting her pack, she continued on down the street; the sounds of the crowd getting softer and softer as she went. Anorista soon came to her father's dwelling. She jogged up the stairs and into the hall.

Some servants bowed upon seeing her; knowing who she was. She nodded to them, and continued on. Once in her room, Anorista immediately changed into her gown. A deep burgandy colour it was; an elven pattern down either side of the gown and around the neck in a lighter, rose colour.

As she looked at herself in the mirror....she saw it. Legolas' necklace. The one from childhood. Anorista braught a hand up and touched the leaf pendant. Rarely did she take it off. Secretly she wondered if Legolas still had her bracelet. Probably not. Why would he keep it? It's been decades since they've seen each other. He probably forgot why he was wearing it, and where he got it from.

Giving a sigh, she pulled the necklace over her head, and stuck it in the cloth of her bossom; hiding it, and keeping it safe. She then walked down the halls in search of her father.

Re: Celebration
"Well done my boy!" Thranduil said in a cheerful voice. He patted his son on the shoulder and hugged him. "You have grown up my boy. You have become an adult." He smiled warmly leading his son into the palace. "I believe that we should celebrate. A feast we shall have. In your honor. What do you say to that my son?"

"I don't know what to say father...." Legolas said. He was so tired of Thranduil showing him off. Why couldn't he be a normal father. It seemed to him, that his father held more celebrations then his age! If that was even possible. Sighing he walked down the hall and to him room.

"Be ready in one hour son." Smiling, Thranduil walked off to prepare.

Legolas closed the door. "Be ready in one hour son. Be ready to be shown off son." He said micking his father. "Why don't you get off your fat arse and be ready in one hour!" He yelled as he stormed off to the bathing quarters. He knew his father did not hear him. That's why he said it. Legolas washed, dressed, and did his hair how he pleased. A dark green elven tunic, black leggings, and tan cloth ankle boots. As he sat in the chair he looked at the bracelet still on his wrist. Legolas sighed. He missed her. Her sweet face. Her lovely laughter. Not many knew he still wore the bracelet. Some thought he had lost it. or hid it. Nay, Legolas wore it almost everyday.

A knock on the door disrupted his thoughts. "Enter.." His gray blue eyes watched the madien walk in and bow.

"My lord...your father request your presence in the Great Hall...for the Celebration of your winnings at the contest..." SHe smiled.

Nodding he smiled as well. "Thank you Nanye." He stood; rising to his full height. He was tall. Around six feet tall. He was lean, yet muscular, from the swords and archery. His long legs walked him to the door and to Nanye. "Shall we?" He asked offering an arm to her.She had always looked after him when he was little. SHe was like a second mother to him. And he loved her like a mother.

"Thank you Legolas.." She linked her smaller and thinner arms with his and the two walked down the halls to the Great Hall, where the celebration would comense.

When they arrived, Nanye released her arm from his and bowed. She turned on her heels and walked off to the kitchen, to help with the food. While Legolas took a seat in a chair away from the others, who danced, and were merrimaking.

Re: Celebration
Later....

Ah, Anorista! Garîn said. He looked as though he was going to disown her, but once he saw she was already in formal attire, he smiled. Glad to see you home again, my child.

He gave her a kiss on the forhead. You've arrived just in time. I've recieved word from the King that there is to be a celebration for his son Legolas, to honor his winning. You remember him, don't you? Your little friend?

Anorista forced a smile. Stupid question....of course she remembered him.

Well, the celebration has already begun, so we musn't take any longer. He smiled, taking her arm. Who knows? Perhaps you shall fine a suitable Elf at this gathering.

Anorista rolled her eyes slightly. She'd been away from home for decades, and he was STILL thinking about her relationship path.

Soon, Lord Garîn and his daughter arrived at the home of Thranduil. Other elves were walking towards the dwelling, dressed in their own formal attire. Anorista swung off her horse and began to walk with her father. They went up the stairs and headed towards the Great Hall.

It was then she noticed Legolas and Thranduil. They were greeting the Elves as they entered; both playing the host role. Anorista intook a breath. This was it. Either he still remembered her, or he didn't. Either way....she had a feeling it would be awkward. Especially with her father and Thranduil present.

Legolas bowed and kissed a maiden's hand. "M'lady..." SHe giggled and walked away. Legolas rolled his eyes slightly. It was always the same. Then, his blue eyes gazed to Anorista. Legolas' eyes widen slightly as he looked her over. She was stunning. A smile was on his lips as he took her hand and kissed it. Slowly he lifted his eyes to her. "Anorista...." He whispered, more to himself. In disbelief that she had come back. "Anorista..." He said more louder, in a normal tone. "It has been long my friend...You look lovely.."

Re: Celebration
Thank you, Leg....m'lord. She said, correcting herself. Her father would not be pleased if she were to address him so informally. It's good to see you as well....it's been a while.

Anorista had to do all she could to stop from embracing him. The one person in these lands who actually accepted her. What she wanted. What she was like. And she respected him. She knew it was probably difficult for him.

She hadn't noticed she was staring, until Garîn took her arm. We'll see you later then. He said nodding to Thranduil, and then to Legolas. Anorista?...Come.

She blushed as he pulled her along.
