"So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world Frodo besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring, in which case you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought."
Legolas sat up, and stood. Picking up a pillow, he walked over to her and set it down beside her. "If to escape is your goal...then why not help me? For there is something you do not know...and your plan would have been foiled...nonetheless" picking up the bar again, he walked over to the window, and began to tug at the bars that were loosening.
After a hard tug, he pulled out another bar. Now there was one more left...
'Let a ploughman plough, but choose an otter for swimming, and for running light over grass and leaf, or over snow...an Elf.'

Re: The Mistake
Anoron slowly sat up and watched the Elf go to the bars again. He was certainly determined to get out. She wondered why he thought their plan would be foiled. Or how he knew.
If that be the case, Anoron did not want to stay around here and deal with Easterlings. Standing, she began to help him get off the other bar. Once it was off, she moved back to get some of her things while the Elf hacked away to make the window bigger.
As he finished, she came back over. He allowed her to slide through first. It was a tight squeeze, but she managed. Next the Elf came; Anoron watched around them to make sure no one came. Once he was out, both crouched low to the ground.
Men patrol around the front, with one to the far left. She whispered. If we stick to the right and head straight back through brush and stream, we should be able to avoid them...
Nodding, they began stealthly. Anoron did a good job, since she'd spent most of her life as a ranger. Yet now, in with the group of men, her spirit was slipping. Yet slowly, she felt it coming back.
They headed straight back, unseen by unfriendly eyes. They came to a series of streams, waist deep. The mortal and elf waded through them all; lower halves of them soaked now as they reached solid land again.
Upon looking around a smile came to Anoron's face. They were out. SHE was out. The moon and sky were large and bright. Stars twinkled above, and the wide open space called to her. She loved this, and had missed it dearly.
Turning, she looked to the elf. Go to the far right, and go around the groves, staying in open plains. You'll reach Mirkwood soon enough. She said, nodding and her smile fading. Your family will benifit to know your safe....

Re: The Mistake
Legolas shook his head. "Go. I cannot leave my friend to suffer such a fate. Already he has done much for me...I cannot leave him to stay there,a nd be taken falsely." He looked around the walls and studied them. "Where would they keep him? Where would they hide or hold captive a prince? My father would be happy upon my return....but his family would grieve, for he was brave...even enough to lie."
Slipping the dagger into the wiatband of his breeches, he looked to her to answer his question.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron nodded slowly. He would be kept in the east wing, most likely the last room. It has a large window, but the bars are thick. If you get one loose, your prince should be able to slip through. They are fairly wide, and you elves are slender of build.
She gave him a small smile. Good luck.
Adjusting her pack, she turned and began to walk. Where to go now, was all that was going through her mind.

Re: The Mistake
Legolas looked to her and smiled. SHe still did not know. Focusing now on getting morn out, He crept to the castle once more and slipped passed the men unnoticed. The window was tall, and guessing it was the last room. His thoughts went back to ANoron. He wondered where she would go. It didn't matter.
Peeking in the window, he had a clear view of the room. Blood. His eyes widened and he leapt back from the window. Gagging at the sight. His friend, was dead. He did not know how, but he was dead. Legolas made his way back to the woods of mirkwood, and begun to wander aimlessly. His friend was dead....gone.
Legolas sat down under a tree and but his face in his hands.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron decided to not go far. She would camp out in the field not too far from where she and 'morn' had parted ways. After all, her first real night of freedom.
Spreading out her blanket, she had managed to get a fire going and a nice little camp set up. She sat cross legged on the blanket and gazed up at the stars. She wondered how the elf did with his rescue, and if he and the prince of Mirkwood were now heading back to their home. At least they had a home.

Re: The Mistake
Sighing, Legolas looked back up and stood. The elf walked through the woods aimlessly. He did not want to go back yet. He wondered about teh girl. The man said that if she wanted a home and food, that she was to obey them. Did she not have one? Curious, he decided to find out.
The smell of smoke reached his notrils, and he smiled. Anoron. Slowly, he made his way towards her camp, and to her side. "It gets cold at night...you might want to pull the blanket about you, and stay close to the fire..." He warned her.
A gentle smile upon his face. Perhaps she wished him to leave. All he wanted, if allowed, was to see her safe, and to give her a home, for setting him free.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron looked up, surprised to see him....alone. Oh, thank you... She said nervously. But, where is your Prince?
She could tell by the solmn look on his face that something had happened. Death, no doubt. Cruel treatment. Yes, Anoron knew their ways.
I'm sorry.... She said quietly, lowering her eyes. I suppose it's good I got out of that lot now. For slaying a prince is a great penalty of law.
Anoron felt guilty now. The Elves had lost their prince in Mirkwood, and it was partly her fault. I understand if you've come to turn me in. You have every right to do so.

Re: The Mistake
Legolas shook his head and sighed. "They did not kill the prince....they killed my friend. I am the true prince Legolas....he took my idenity to save me...he was my best friend...and not he is dead." The elf sat beside her.
"Why would I turn in the one who helped save my life? That you did...and I am thankful...and in return..I wish to give you a home...for I am sure you would not want to stay with me for a time..." He said, looking down and fidgiting with his hands in his lap.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron stared at him for a moment. Of course he was the Prince -- fair and beautiful. She'd wondered from the very start. Now she felt guilty for all she'd done to him.
Your compassion overwhelms me, m'lord, She said, nodding respectfully. Yet I do not deserve such. Not after all I've done to you. Escape is simply payback for all you've endured. I shall take nothing else from you.
Her eyes shifted down as she played with the old blanket she sat upon. Anoron did not deserve such kindness -- never before had she been shown it.

Legolas sighed and shook his head slowly. His bright ice like eyes gazed at her. "No. You are wrong. You what you did to survive. It remains in the past, as it should be. You could have done worse, and now look at you. You are free. I suppose we both got a wish that we had long since before then..."
Legolas looked abck down to the ground, and picked up a small stick. "You deserve better then the life you had. I saw that man try to bed you. Rape you. I saw the anger, the desire to be free, and the tears. Anoron..." He said, putting a hand on her. "As my gift for you..I want to find you a home, or have you stay with me. Your choice...but will you not accept it?"
"I know they treat you cruel there.....the woods are just as dabgers. One who walks alone, stands alone. Will you walk alone?"

Re: The MistakeI do not wish too.... She said, her eyes moving down. Yet I don't see what choice I have. I cannot go to your city. The elves hate humans more than ever after what we've done to you and your kin. I shall only be tormented myself, if not thrown to the cells or worse.
Her eyes moved back to the starry sky. Your family will do better to know your safe. Without the company of some vagabond girl.

Re: The Mistake
Legolas snorted in disgust. "My father may care about how is son ins after a year or two. He does not care about me as you think. Forgive me, I forgot to tell you I do not live with my father. Nay, I live along in the wodos that border the city. With your hair down," He ran a finger down her wild and curly hair. "And a hood of if not for your hair down, you could pass for an elf. I would not let you go to prison, Anoron. You have my word on that. You are too beautiful to be fated to such a life behind bars."
The prince did not admit it, but he gound himseld growing more and more fond ot this Anoron. SHe was very beautiful. Oh how he would loveto wake up to her face in the mornings--No! He needed to stop those thoughts. He knew they were only a dream...a fool's dream.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron sighed and gave a small smile. Perhaps I could for a bit.....yet I do not wish to inconvenience you. I shall leave before my welcome is worn, worry not about that.
Standing, she gathered her blanket; rolling it, and tying it at either end. Kneeling, she looped it through her pack, and swung the ratted bag over her shoulder. Moving over, she put out the fire and looked back to the Prince and nodded.

Re: The Mistake
Legolas smiled, and rose to his feet as well. He reached out to her, and took her pack from over her shoulder. "Here...let me carry it for you." Once the smoke of the came fire was foen, Legolas began to walk, with Anoron behind him. They walked through the woods, passing trees and creatures of all sorts, towards his home. It was not much, but it did have a guest room, and a bathing chamber. Not to mention a sall kitchen and dinning room.
As the two approached the house, Legolas looked at it and smiled. A home of his own. The small one story home was nothing grand, something one would not expect a prince to be in. Vines grew wild about the exterior of the stong house, setting it of beautifully. The elf opened the door, and took her hand in his slightly larger one.
"This is my home. Nothing much, but it suits." Then the prince lead Anoron to her room, which was the guest bedroom, and put her pack on the bed. "The bathing chambers ins right across from you, and my room is nest door to yours. The kitchen, if you saw, is connected to the Livingroom. Help yourself to anything." Nodding, and releasing her hand, Legolas smiled and walked to his room.
Legolas took of the tattered shirt, and looked in his closet; taking a fresh one and slipping it on

Re: The Mistake
Anoron smiled to him as he left. She stood there in her empty, and cozy room for a while. She'd never been in an elven room before such as this. It was very nice.
Slowly, she sat down on the edge of her bed. Anoron wasn't really sure what to do with herself now. It was always a little uncomfortable staying somewhere you aren't used to. Especially with an Elf she'd tortured and somehow had found the heart to forgive her.
Her hand drifted over the bed idlely. She wasn't sure what to do; nor did she want to risk doing anything she wasn't supposed to. She adjusted her pack a few times for no particular reason; her hands in her lap.

Re: The Mistake
Legolas did up the clasps on his tunic as he walked to the kithen, but stopped as he noticed her sitting there still on her bed, unpacked and slightly uncomfortable. Frowning, he walked into her room once more. "Anything wrong?" Then it hit him. She was not use to such a room. He was, yet she was not. He took her in, and he enjoyed it, for he found himself growing more fond of her, but did she? Smiling kindly to her, He walked over to Anoron and took her pack. "Forgive me if it seems so sudden." He said as he began to unpack for her.
"I know this is diferent for you, Anoron...and I'm sorry for rushing you into this." Finally he finshed and put her pack aside. retreating back to her, he sat beside her, and looked at her. "You look hungry...I'll fix you something. I'm noit the best cook...but I can manage...do you like soup?"

Re: The Mistake
Anoron nodded slowly and gave a nervous smile. Standing Legolas led her to the kitchen. He began to tell her about his home, how he came to get it, why he left, and other small things about what he did or liked to do.
She was content simply listening to him speak. As she sat down, she watched him begin to prepare the soup, still talking. He had a very pleasent voice; soothing and waterlike, how it flowed. Anoron had a small, content smile on her face as she waited, listening to the elf.
Her eyes drifted around the home. Simple, for a prince. Perhaps that's what he wanted. There was nothing special about the home, save a few weapons hung about the walls. They looked to be special daggers of some sort; elven, no doubt. Fine craftsmenship the likes she had never seen, nor been privilaged to own.
Looking back, he braught over two bowls of soup. She smiled. Thank you.

Re: The Mistake
Legolas smiled and placed a spoon in her bowl. "You are most welcome." Taking his spoon, he fipped it into the bowl of his and fed himself a spoonful of Soup. The only kind he knew how to cook. He began to talk with her on the various adventures he had been on, and how he got the weapons on the wall. "That longbow light in colour was given to me by the Lady of the Woods. The arrows of Lothloiren I keep."
He smiled. "And what of you? Surely being a ranger has some sort of adventure in it.." He asked, feeding himself another spoonful.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron blushed slightly and merely shrugged. Some, though not many. Mostly just wandering, on my part. Helping when and where I can. Then I was asked to join a small group. The group became larger....and turned into those evil hearts who captured you and your friend.
Her eyes moved down to her soup again, as she stirred it gently before taking another mouthfull. Anoron didn't want to talk about such things anymore.
This is my chance to start a new life. She said, with a small smile. New places. New people. New hope and love.
