Re: The Mistake
Legolas smiled sincerely at her woods. She was doing what he longed for. No matter whay, he would still be a prince, and some people would still think him a snobby elf princeling with nothing better to do then behead people. Either that, or bed every woman, which he had not. He finished his soup, and wiped his hands. "Sounds like you are on your way Lady Anoron. I hope that it does happen. I can tell that you are strong, and such a dream and life will be yours."

Standing, the elf took his bowl, and Anoron's when she had finished. Quickly he washed them and put them away. Legolas returned to her and sat beside her now. "Tell me more about yourself? I am interested in knowing more about you..." He asked smiling.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron blushed and shook her head slightly, looking down. There's nothing really to tell. I'm a very simple girl. I lead a very simple life. My father and mother reside in Minas Tirith -- she was of Elf kind, and he mortal. My parents were very good people. Yet I grew restless and longed to be on my own. But the odd thing is, that now I am on my own, I long for acceptance again.

She looked to him for a moment. My parents are both gone now. Anoron meant death. But I am sure they still watch over me.

Re: The Mistake
"Of course they do. My mother, too has passed the sea to the Undying lands, and now all that is left is my father and myself. My father has grown greedy for treasure, and we do not converse much." Sighing, he looked to her and smiled. "Let us speak of pleasent times. Tomrrow I will go into town and buy you things. Dresses and such. You would look stunning in one. If you need a tunic to sleep in. I will get you one of mine until we get you one."

Smiling, Legolas stood and offered Anoron a hand.

Re: The Mistake
She took his hand, but shook her head and smiled nervously as she stood. You've already done enough for me, m'lord. I ask you not to dote on me as if I were some worthy Elven maiden. I am content with what little I have. If I recieve too much, I fear it may go to my head. Bed and board is enough, thank you.

Anoron nodded to him. She didn't want Legolas to buy her anything. He'd given her a place for the time being, and that was more than enough. All I ask is that as a few days pass, you assist me in planning a route. Finding somewhere pleasent to go, perhaps? A nice place to live or settle for a while.

Re: The Mistake
"Oh..." Legolas looked down. Secreetly he hoped she stay here with him as long as she could, but if she wanted to go elsewhere, he could not blame her, or hold her back. "You are welcomed to stay here, Lady Anoron. I want to buy you things...because....I just do." He took her hands in both of his.

"Anoron...I would like you to stay here. it is no trouble at all. I enjoy the company, and of one who understands me....and is not simple in this to have sex with me. It seems every maiden does...but you're not. You're different...I like that...please do not leave...not yet..." His eyes gazed into Anoron's.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron blushed. Oh....Legolas.... She didn't know what to say. No one had ever asked her to stay. They either 'demanded' it, or simply didn't care. Looking back to him, her eyes looked into his. They seemed sincere enough.

I do not wish to trouble you, m'lord, She said honestly. But I shall stay until I believe my welcome is worn out. Yet I still ask you do not buy me anything. I can look after that myself -- and since I pay you no rent, I insist on helping with whatever work you may have to do.

A smile came to her lips as she nodded to him again. She would work her share.

Re: The Mistake
Legolas chuckled and lifted Anoron's hand to his lips, and kissed it. "I still wish to buy you something. Just to buy it for you. You do not have to work to stay here. Simply being here is rent enough. I don't take to rents." He smiled and led her into the livingroom. "Anything of mine is yours. You don't have to ask."

He did not realize he was still holding her hand.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron blushed and shook her head. I'll get you money, whether you choose to take it or not. I can be quite stubborn, master Elf, when I have the mind to be. She gave him a warning look. I will help out and work my share.

Slowly, she slipped her hand from him, giving a nervous laugh and figiting with her shirt slightly. He'd held onto her hand for quite a bit. And though she knew she shouldn't think of it, Anoron thought him quite attractive. Strong and beautiful; moreso than all elves.

Wouldn't you rather waste your money on some beautiful elven maiden more deserving? She asked, still blushing. Seems foolish to waste such things on a mortal. I'm sure your love would appreciate it.

Re: The Mistake
"Love?" He smiled and shook his head. "I do not have a love. I have not met an elf maiden who has captured my heart..." Would she believe that she held his heart? Would she understand that he was so very fond of her? Seeing ehr blush, Legolas dared to cup her cheek on a hand, and caress it softly.

"I can be just as stubborn...I may not take your money. I want to buy things for you...because I simply do." His heart skipped a beat, and raced as he realized how close he was to her. So close....unconciously, he leaned closer to her, his silver ice eyes gazed from her lips to her eyes.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron intook a sharp breath as she saw Legolas inching his way closer. Was this common among all elves? To be so affectionate? So caring? She'd seen quite a different side of him at the fort of men.

This seemed like he wanted to kiss her. The very thought made Anoron blush even more; to think of such a beautiful creature lusting after her. Well I'm sure you could quite easily have anyone you wanted in Middle-Earth.... She said, taking a step back and giving a nervous, innocent smile. Maybe this was all in her head.

Re: The Mistake
Realizing what he was doing, Legolas stopped and looked down rather embarrased. "I....I am sorry, if I made you uncomfortable. I may be able to have anyone in Middle Eaarth...but my heart guides me in that part...." Ashamed, and a bit shocked at what he did, He looked down and bowed his head. "Forgive me..." He said quietly. Legolas quickly walked away, nad into his room. He had just made a fool of himself..

She was not interested in him. No doubt she had the eye of another. It always happened. Either you one he liked was taken by another, or they come close to him, then leave as the got what they wanted. Only once did such happen, and he vowed to never ket it happen again.

He sat down on the end of the bed and held his head in his hands. He felt bad for Anoron. He just made an advacne at her, then they only let! What kind of impression was that. Legolas sighed.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron watched him walk away embarrassed. Guilt overcame her. Had she said something wrong?....Was there something mentioned that is embarrassing to the elves? Or inappropriate. Anoron wasn't familiar with their ways and now figured it was her fault he left.

Slowly, she took a few steps down the hall and stopped before reaching Legolas' room. He wanted to be alone. Legolas.... She called softly. I'm going to go to the market....and see if I can pick up some more suitable attire. I'll return shortly.....

Re: The Mistake
Legolas looked up at her, and stood. rubbing his face with his hands, he nodded. "Then you I follow." He walked over to the closet and pulled out a dark black cloak, and pulled it about him. Drawing up the hood, he walked back over to Anoron. "All right...let us go." LEgolas walked into the livingroom silently, and picked up a pouch filled with money, and slid it in his pocket smoothly.

By the door he waited for her. He could see the protest in her eyes. "I'm going with you, Anoron. End of story."

Re: The Mistake
Anoron looked to him with a raised brow. Slowly, she held up her own small sack of money, before putting it away as well. Going to the door, both left.

She drew up her hood, as to not arouse too much suspicion when in the city. If anyone should ask, she would simply tell them that she was from Rivendell; since there Elves were commonly dark of hair.

As they reached the markets, they began to look through various shops. Once Anoron saw something she liked, as a dress perhaps, she practically had to make a mad scramble to the counter in order to pay for it before Legolas.

This happened a few times during the day. So far, Anoron had been paying. She had two dresses and a better pair of elven boots for special occasions.

Re: The Mistake
He smiled as he walked by her side. "You know...I think this HIGHLY unfair. I wish to buy you a gift, and you will not let me. Well I am going to buy you a gift or two. Save you're money." Taking her by the hand, Legolas pulled her into another store, and looked about. He stilled her hand that reached for the her pouch, and paid for it himself.

NOW Legolas held a bag with two gowns, a fitting night gown, and a neclace. He carried the band with it all in one, in his arms. "What else do you need?"

Re: The Mistake
Nothing! She laughed. 'Tis quite enough. I shall need to go shopping when you are not about.

She nudged him slightly as they began to walk back to his home. She had a few looks upon walking, but not many. Most just assumed she was some Rivendell elf who was visiting -- their Prince. Which astounded most.

As they reached Legolas' hope again, they took the two bags to her room and set them down. Thank you. She said.

Re: The Mistake
"Of course." He said smiling. "I will have to do some shopping when YOU are not about." He chuckled and kissed her on the cheek. Legolas helped her unpack the new clothes, and put her clothes away. Smiling, he took her long hands in his larger ones, and pulled her close. "Anoron...I hope not to seem forward with you...but I must speak my mind." Taking a deep breath, he began.

"Anoron...I think you are a fine woman. More lovier then any other woman I have had the provilage of meeting. I know you think it odd I fine something in you....but I have. I truely have Anoron. I don't know how to explain it....other then the words that I am very fond of you..." His voice drifted off hans he brought a hand to ctroke her cheek, and leaned closer to hr again. Summoning up all his courage, he kissed Anoron on the lips lightly, before pulling back and staring at her.

He half expected her to slap him and storm off, or kiss him back. He waited, as his blue eyes gazed at her intently.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron was stunned. He'd kissed her; an elf of such beauty fond of HER? A deep blush came to her cheeks. Such words are unworthy of me, m'lord.... She said softly, not really able to look him in the eye. Such fondness is forbidden. Mortal and Elf -- 'tis not proper. I believe this is merely some infatuation for you. Or perhaps some kind of excitement; tasting of forbidden fruit. I've no doubt you will regret what you are about to do or say to me.

Her eyes met his for a moment, before looking down. I am far to fragile of heart to be toyed with, master Elf. Strong I seem on the outside, but inside my feelings go as deep as the Anduin. Please....

Anoron looked back to him. She could not bare if this was some game; merely for his lust.

Re: The Mistake
Legolas lifted a hand to her cheek, and brushed back a lock of her hair. "Anoron...I would never toy with a heart. Having been through the same...My heart could not take such a thing to recieved, moreso then give out. This is not an infactuation, Anoron. My heart does yearn for you....I know it is not proper...but what is proper? Love is proper..is it not? True love has no rules or limits...What does it matter that I be elf and you mortal? Nothing. Anoron....perhaps I sould crazy...but I do love you....never before have a felt this...in ALL my years. I do not think I will ever.."

Legolas ohter hand took Anoron's and he intertwined his fingers with hers.

Re: The Mistake
Anoron sighed, before embracing Legolas. She hugged him tightly. Legolas.....I fear you are jumping into this. We met by torture; me onto you. And now you give me a place to stay out of pity. Little time have we known each other.....I simply find it hard to believe that such a beautiful, wise creature as you -- would love me in such a short time.

She closed her eyes for a moment, merely enjoying the feeling of being hugged. The heat from his body was warm, his clothes clean, and the smell of spring morning was about him.
