Re: The Bond
Legolas' jaw tightened slightly, but he looked away from them and back to his son, who was by now stuffing fruits in his mouth. The prince gave a slight chuckle and poured Legolin another glass of the finest juice in Greenwood the Great. The child thank his father graciously and took a large gulp of it, nearly downing the whole thing! By this Legolas was slightly shocked, and surpressed a laugh.

Turning back to Anoron and Alistair, he listened with a keen ear and open mind at what, infact, was said. Her home, in Minas Tirith which he had been to so long ago, was like what the Grey Havens were to Elves. Her peace. She spoke so highly of the place, and Legolas oft wondered what had changed since he last saw it. No doubt now it was a grand and high place, worthy of rememberance. One day Legolas would have to travel there with her and their son, to see and perhaps share the beauty that he saw in her eyes, and the dream-like daze she had when she spoke of her home.

Re: The Bond
"Well, of course. Only those of us who grew up there, would know the TRUE beauty and value of the city." The comment was mostly directed to the elf as his eyes narrowed a bit. Taking a drink of his wine, he was tapped on the shoulder as one of his men whispered into his ear. Alistair put the drink down and smiled. "Ah." He said, looking to the others. "Lord Garîn, father to the fair Anoron, is on his way to Mirkwood to set the present matters straight." He took another drink of his wine, dismissing his man with a wave of his hand. Alistair was more confident now. Garîn would certainly back him, before some elf to wed his daughter.

Re: The Bond
Anoron sighed and gave small nod. Her father. Great. He hadn't really approved of her or Araduar's relationships with elves. He considered them of different nobility all together, and that the two races could befriend one another as allies, but never in love. Of course, his children were rangers. And as a result, they adapted many ways and habits of the elves. Garîn was not impressed. He always wanted Anoron to marry grand and happy. Hopefully he would be able to see where he love lay.

Anoron and Araduar exchanged a look; she knew he was thinking the same. Luckily, she had his support on the matter, and being the eldest and only son -- perhaps he could speak to Garîn.

Re: The Bond
Legolas arched a brow slightly and gave Alistair a flat look. "Being the prince of these realms, I was unaware of such matter, and if it has not already been, the Lord of these woods should be aware of this as well. No stranger since the dark days as ventured into the woods of Greenwood the Great." His hands folded neatly upon the table as he kept a steady gave upon the man.

How dare be come parading in as if he owned these woods. How dare he come here and take his love away. He could see that the man had swelled more in pride if he ever saw it.

Re: The Bond
Anoron looked to him and touched him on the arm. Legolas, it's my father. Surely no harm would come to him, nor would he bring any harm. She wanted this to work out. If Garîn was stopped or threatened or unpermitted to come within the wood....that would be it. He would turn Anoron over to Alistair without a second thought to Legolas. She didn't want that to happen.

Re: The Bond
"Now that we know he travels to Greenleaf, he will not be harm. our senitals shall keep a watch over him. Not to worry my love." He gave her a tender smile that spoke itself. He would what he could to see that her father would come through safely. "It shall be known and he shall be welcomed with open arms." Legolas sat back in his chair and his arms now resting on the arms of his chair.

Re: The Bond
Anoron nodded slowly, and paused in thought. Yet drawing her eyes up, she saw Legolîn's eyes drooping, as he still tried to eat all the food. Smiling, Anoron stood up and went to his side of the table. I think it's someone's bedtime. She said, picking the child up in her arms. Goodnight, my lords. She said nodding to them. The men stood and bowed to her as she left the dining hall to put Legolîn to bed. Now, it was just Alistair, Legolas and Araduar. She knew her brother would keep the peace.

Re: The Bond
Alistair sat down slowly, while still watching the fascinating woman walk away. "She's the only female ranger I've met during any number of travels. Extrordinary. Though strong and reliable, she has the same grace of any woman, surpassing some of those even of elven kind." His thoughts were spoken aloud, in no real emotion but honest infatuation. "She fascinates me like no other woman I've come to court. When her father suggested it, I expected the girl to be brutish and unsophisticated. But Garîn has a fine daughter....worthy of a 'man'.." He said, with his brown eyes gazing at Legolas specifiically.

Re: The Bond
And Legolas caught onto that rather quickly. "And pray tell why you think race should matter? If one has love, would it matter? I would think not. She is worthy of being loved, not a racist husband." He said flatly. Already he was beginning not to like this Alistair, for he was constantly trying to down Legolas and win her over. That made Legolas upset, but he never outwardly showed it. Only those who knew him could see true feelings he held.

Re: The Bond
Could we keep pitiful arguments to the children, perhaps? Araduar said, raising his eyes to look at both Legolas and Alistair. It is Anoron's choice, one I do not think will be hard, given the history. But there's no need to resort to name calling.

Araduar wanted what was best for his sister. He only hoped his father would see that. The man had a reputation for being big-headed and too prideful -- something Araduar had not taken too when growing up; not wanting to be like that.

Re: The Bond
Legolas nodded to Aruduar. "You are right my friend. Well gentlemen," The elf said rising. "It has been a trying day...and I think I will retire. Sir Alistair, you have but to ask one of the maidens to show you to a room. May you seek comfort. Namar." He bowed slightly to both of them with respect, then retreated back to his quarters.

Evere did his mind drift to the thought of Anoron and Araduar's father. What was he like? He had never met the man, and not he was in love with his daughter. How would he tell the man that? Was he racist like Alistair as well?

When Legolas arrived in his room, he closed teh door and leaned against it heavily.

Re: The Bond
Arms slipped around Legolas' waist as he entered the room, and a raven-haired girl rested her head upon his chest. I know this is all straining... Anoron said. But in a day or two, it shall all be over.

She kissed the cloth of his chest gently, before resting her head on it again. Her arms held him close around the waist. And Anoron was sure, that in hearing the soft beat of his heart, and the warmth from his body -- that she never wanted to leave this spot. She wanted to stay with Legolas forever.

Re: The Bond
Legolas smiled slightly to the woman he loved and his arms wrapped around her as well--holding her close--and feeling her body against his. One of the elf's hands was raised to her fair heaad as his long fingers than through deep curls that flowed like a waterfall. "I know it will be over soon...I just hope that your father will see the love I have for you...and that we are very much in love...despite the race."

And his eyes closed as they stayed like that for some time. Behind the eyelids of Legolas tears threatened to come as his mind played the dark thoughts of Anoron leaving. It seemed so real and heartbreaking. "I will do all I can to be with you....I will do anything to stay with you and our son." He whispered as Legolas leaned his head besides hers and nuzzled his face in the soft curls of Anoron.

Re: The Bond
Anoron could hear the trembling voice of Legolas; the fear lingering behind the image as he spoke. She looked up to him, and gently kissed his lips in reassurance. Taking his hand, she led him to the bed and laid him down. She immediately spooned up beside him, and snuggled in close to him; loving the warmth, the softness, and the love. Anoron undid the first few clasps of his shirt and tunic, and slid her hand into the smooth skin beneath -- stroking it reassuringly and soothingly.

Re: The Bond
Legolas smiled more and wrapped his arms loosly around her waist. She was so warm against him, and he loved that feeling. To say all of it would be too cumbersome. He loved Anoron complete, hands down. There was no other person who made him feel like he did not touch his heart like she did. "I want this moment to last forever..." He whispered softly as Legolas hands found a way to touch her bare skin of her back. There he massaged and ran his hands along the silkened skin affectionately.

Re: The Bond
Anoron smiled, and it was there the lovers slept for the rest of the night. In her mind ran thoughts of Alistair and her father -- hoping both would see and listen to reason. Her heart lay with Legolas. She'd given herself to him, and he was all she wanted. Now and forever.

As morning approaching, Anoron heard the songbirds but saw not the sun. Too early, or too cloudy. Either way, she yawned and snuggled closer to Legolas. She didn't want to leave, nor really see her father. He was an arrogant man, who 'knew best'......he'd known best all her life. For her sake, as he said.

Re: The Bond
Deep in the halls of slumber he dwelt still, even as morning dawned, yet still remained dark from the hidden sunlight. Birds sang their sweet tune, the trees whispered and bowed to the window. This morning was quite chilly. Winter approaching the woods of Greenwood the great. Instinctively the elf pulled Anoron close to him and burried his head in the space between her shoulder and neck like a child. Legolas smiled a soft and dreamy smile as he laid there. So peaceful; warm; tender.

Strong arms held her close to his body as his sapphire eyes were slightly open--as the way of the elves in sleep--and were hazed yet all still keen.

Re: The Bond
Smiling, Anoron swung her leg over Legolas' torso, so she was straddling him; though bent down close so their chests were against one another in warmth. She kissed his neck tenderly as her arms and body snuggled close to him in attempts to wake the sleeping prince. Her nose trailed up to his cheek where she rubbed it affectionately.

Re: The Bond
The prince did indeed stirr in his slumber as Anoron's affect brought the sleep from his eyes and mind. Blinking rapidly to chase away the haze of dreams his blue eyes focused on the lover who now straddled his torso. Legolas smiled fondly up at her and kissed her cheek in return. Arms encircled her slender form--pulling her closer to him yet--and held her. His golden locks rested on the pillow wild and free from braids and other hair fashions of the elves. Like a halo about his face bright eyes gazed up at Anoron.

"Good morning my dearest Anoron. What a joy it is to open my eyes from the cloak of sleep and wake to find a beautiful woman hovering over me like an angel sent down from the high heavens." A light kiss the elf placed on her jaw as long fingers ran through her silken curls. "So beautiful, it makes my heart melt." Said Legoals with a sleepy chuckle.
