good places to eat near the arena?
ok, i know some of you already know where to eat when we go to the games.(ice chex, possum etc) i know nothing about the arena or where to eat. how about some clues from you folks.
Re: good places to eat near the arena?
I'm guessing you haven't been uptown lately. There are places to go ALL AROUND the arena, including Dixie's Tavern, which is a couple blocks away across the street from Seventh Street Station. There's also going to be fine dining and a sports bar in the arena. But, for one of the best places, I would recommend Tavern on the Tracks. Their fish & chips can't be beat! It's behind Jillian's.

hey giant, what is guiness? i hate to be a dummy but when you get past burgers and pizza and icehouse i dont have a clue.
Re: good places to eat near the arena?
CF if you're not a beer drinker, Guiness is not for you. Its a very very very thick dark beer. Its like drinking oatmeal that's been soaking in molasses and chocolate. Its not my personal favorite, but it is possibly the most world-renowned beer....maybe Giant can think of another that's as popular, but none are as "classy." I like all different kinds of beers, but the G is not my favorite.

Re: good places to eat near the arena?
I think you would like it CF, its a man's drink ( Heheh Matt ) that goes down like milk, no fizzy bubbles to go up your nose.
Come out for a pint tomorrow night with some of the rest of the fans at the Tavern and ill convert you.

Re: good places to eat near the arena?
its free at the park behind the mill near downtown. they have a really nice place there and they built a really nice stage that must have cost some money. they also have concessions. we went there two weeks ago to see general johnson and the chairman of the board and they were great. show starts at 7 and ends around 10. if your coming from charlotte , get off 85 in concord at the hwy #3 dale earnhardt blvd. and follow it all the way to downtown kannapolis and you will see the park behind the mill.
