mission trip I'm leaving for Whitefish Lake (near Sudbury, Ontario) tomorrow for a week. We're running a Christian day-camp for the native kids for a ministry called Day Star. My church has been doing this for a few years now but it's my first year going on the trip, as it is for all but I think 3 or 4 people on the team of 12. A friend of mine made himself some cool looking armor out of gold colored cardboard and even a helmet (he's in charge of arts and crafts) for a skit. There's just one problem though, he's playing Goliath We still need a tent trailer (for the adult couple that will be with us). In previous years they rented a trailer but this year they were too late reserving it. We got a kitchen trailer but we still need a tent trailer to be delivered at the camp site at the last minute. Pray that the black flies don't eat me |

the Lord works it is wonderful to work with children - they are so hungry for the Lord - it really helps to build our own faith when you see the Lord working. hope all goes well - the armor of God is something the kids really enjoy cuz it's visual and they can relate to it. and it's fun for the adults (the kid inside us). what a blessing to be able to serve the Lord - He will truly bless your efforts. and have fun. will keep your fly situation in prayer also, lmb |

back, how dit go? hope it went well. the Lord is always faithful to meet us where we are. and He blesses our efforts. it always seems that when i go to help/minister/etc. someone for the Lord, i feel like i get more blessed than the person to whom the blessing is going. this shows the goodness and love of the Lord. lmb |

Re: back, how dit go? The flies weren't too bad, though I do have some mosquito bites. I gave a lot of piggy back rides though. We didn't have water or power Thursday night and for a while this morning (came back on before we left) because of the black out and we had to cancel the program on Friday but we still got to hand out the prizes and spend some time with the kids. |

good to hear mosquitos are a pain - there are some creatures that i inquire of the Lord for their existance - cockroaches, sea gulls, scorpions, to name a few. good to hear that the children had a good time - to share the word in the midst of God's creation is wonderful. i love to go on retreats out in the woods or up in the mountains. once went on one that was in a city environment and it just wasn't the same. lmb |
