Re: no pledge?
I have not really read a whole bunch on this, but I can see why some people would have issues with our pledge.
Using the name God is religious and could be offensive to some people, like them feeling that they are being forced to pray almost. Example would be a child in school not wanting to stay seated for the pledge when all of his/her classmates are up participating, even if his/her folks have told them not to.
What as a nation are we to do though, totally change the pledge, our money, etc...? That is what I believe it will come to in the next several years as the whole "freedom" issue is debated more and more.

Xguy, do you stand for the pledge at school? If so why if it offends you? and if not then does anyone comment about your sitting?

Re: no pledge?

Well, I am COMPLETELY against any "Pledge of Allegiance", whether it has the word "God" in it, or NOT.
Swearing our allegiance to our country, right or wrong, seems to raise our government up to unquestionable God-like status....which I think is TOTAL BULL$HIT....
That's why our forefathers demanded & WON the Constitutional rights for every legal US citizen to KEEP and BEAR ARMS...
...because sometimes a government has its SPECIAL INTEREST head SO FAR up its collective A$$ that only a few thousand steel-jacketed shells will suffice to REMOVE it.
I FULLY support the men, women, and families of the United States of America....I just wish that our government could truthfully say the same.

| ...and HELL followed with him |
